I’ve just come over here to calm down, because I couldn’t take my youngest out for a walk, because so many people from outside the area, had driven to and parked up on my road for a walk. ☹️

I need to stay off the other threads for a while, because they’re making me stressed and angry. I’ve already ready had a panic attack today, so that was the icing.

I’m going to go over this tread and reread the lovely happy posts. Thank you so much for this thread, OP.

Siameasy · 26/03/2020 19:48

Most of the other threads are awful. They are acting like nutters and I refuse to waste energy on it.
I’m actually enjoying the more leisurely lifestyle in a weird way. DD and I have a little routine now and normally it’d be all frantic in the morning but it’s quite chilled
A lot of people’s health will benefit from this. As well as nature.

My business has closed down, but I can reopen when this is over. Some of my wonderful clients have given me parcels of food, wine and transferred extra money into my account. I have a really good Brexit stash, the sun was shinning today and earlier my young lass was giggling away at something she was watching on her phone, while lying in the back garden with her wee cats. She is such a sweet and happy soul. She finds the good in people and any situation. I love the bones of her. I need to calm down and enjoy the freedom after working none stop for years.

ExpletiveDelighted · 26/03/2020 20:03

Our whole street just came out to clap the NHS Flowers

gingerbreadslice · 26/03/2020 20:04

Crying our whole block and area is clapping and cheering some people have let off fireworks it's lovely 😭

Spudlet · 26/03/2020 20:05

People have said some awful things on here (not this thread of course). I think it’s important to remember though that none of them are posting from any position of authority. Just stating something with confidence does not make it so, so all these pronouncements about what will happen next and huge fines and whatever are just so much internet hot air.

I have made a conscious decision to not bother with the rest of the forum at this point, just this and a couple of other threads with a similar vibe. I’m happier for it, to be honest.

Me too! 😢 It’s such a lovely sound to hear. I really didn’t think it would catch on here, as neighbours can’t really see each other, but it has drifted over from the housing area beside us and everyone has joined in. I haven’t worked in the health service for seven years, but am thinking of all the wonderful friends that are still in it. ❤️

BooseysMom · 26/03/2020 20:11

@riotlady and @T0tallyFuckedUpFamily... I also have been tearful and terrified esp when hearing on the news about a 5yo who was rushed to hosp with a temp of 42. He's ok now but they're saying children can get it too so naturally i'm worrying about DS(6). This thread is def a life saver right nowSmile

EsioTrot · 26/03/2020 20:15

Most of our street came to their doors to clap. It was really poignant. DCs 14 and 10 joined in and we had a hug afterwards. So grateful.

Roussette · 26/03/2020 20:16

I live in a tiny village in the middle of nowhere, and I could hear clapping, 'twas lovely!

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 26/03/2020 20:21

This thread is def a life saver right now

Absolutely.

Arcadia · 26/03/2020 20:29

Lovely here too! Getting to know my neighbours better and feel safe surrounded by people.

Millie2013 · 26/03/2020 20:48

Not many houses around here but most people were out and clapping ❤️

T0tallyFuckedUpFamily · 26/03/2020 20:50

It has the added bonus of making those in isolation or living by themselves, feel less alone. ❤️

M0reGinPlease · 26/03/2020 20:58

@Bunnyflop when all this is over, can I come round your house for tea please? All your dinners sound LUSH!!

Arcadia · 26/03/2020 21:12

Ugh some people over on mainstream MN saying its 'virtue signalling' to go out and clap. Miseries. Absolute rubbish.

Siameasy · 26/03/2020 21:14

Are they?! Sad fuckers.
That said I didn’t clap as I was nagging DH for eating frozen broccoli when I had explicitly told him to eat the stuff in the fridge first (amongst other things lol)

Bloodybackpain · 26/03/2020 21:14

Clapping was amazing! Someone near us let off fireworks too!

All quite up and down in our house as we adjust. The kids are quite full on at times, but actually I quite enjoy teaching them stuff, DS10 in particular is like a big sponge soaking up information

Bunnyflop · 26/03/2020 21:37

@M0reGinPlease by all means! Smile

Arcadia · 26/03/2020 21:38

@Siameasy exactly, hats off to anyone who can twist that into a negative!!

AskingQuestionsAllTheTime · 26/03/2020 21:38

It seems that Iceland has set out to test their entire population of a few hundred over 364,000, and so far the results show that half the people tested have the virus but don't have symptoms.

www.buzzfeed.com/albertonardelli/coronavirus-testing-iceland

That has to be very good news for a lot of people, though unfortunately they will also be likely to pass it on without knowing they have it.

Bunnyflop · 26/03/2020 21:39

I didn’t know about the clapping thing until I was putting ds to bed and heard it outside. And then saw on here what it was!

Having a v anxious day today. I came off my propranolol (beta blocker) a few weeks ago and since then I’ve been feeling very shaky and like my heart is pumping out of my chest. It’s a horrible feeling. And of course it timed in with all this stress. I feel so anxious it’s like I’m having an out of body experience at times.

Siameasy · 26/03/2020 21:44

Oh no Bunny how awful. I took Propanolol for a bit as had post natal anxiety. Can you not take a lower dose as anxiety is exhausting?

Bunnyflop · 26/03/2020 21:50

The dr told me to come off it because it affects my asthma. So I tapered it down from 3x40mg by 20mg a week until it was all done with and a few days later these symptoms appeared. Who knows, maybe it’s all just anxiety symptoms but it seems a coincidence.

No matter what I do or try I just cannot conquer my anxiety. Have had so much therapy, medication, dr visits, over years and years and while what I’ve learnt from therapy has made sense I can’t seem to get on top of it.

Bunnyflop · 26/03/2020 21:50

Sorry for being a Debbie downer everybody.
