Thank you.
I decided I won’t be going to hairdresser. No point if stuck inside anyway.. can have hair done anytime later on.

MarshaBradyo · 23/03/2020 16:33

Hom no don’t go

ofwarren · 23/03/2020 16:34

Sky News understands Prime Minister Boris Johnson will not give his usual news conference at 5pm but will speak later

Etinox · 23/03/2020 16:34

@Homkaismycat don’t go.
You might feel fine, you might always feel fine, but pass it on or have it passed on to you and someone could die as a direct result. You’d never know.

CharlieTangoBanana · 23/03/2020 16:34

@Homk We're in the midst of a global pandemic and you're worried about your highlights. How the fuck will a hairdresser do your hair from 2m away

VivaLeBeaver · 23/03/2020 16:35

Hmmm, does that mean it’s more likely or less likely he announces a lock down? Is it because of cobra?

CharlieTangoBanana · 23/03/2020 16:36

Our numbers could reflect fewer tests being done over the weekend

loobyloo1234 · 23/03/2020 16:37

The death rate is lower today than it was in Italy's 14 days ago. We are of course always going to be showing lower on the 'infected' number because our stupid government isn't testing everyone

Horehound · 23/03/2020 16:39

No @MurrayTheMonk
The chart shows Italy had 463 deaths and we have 335 two weeks later.
So actually it looks like we won't be anywhere near as bad. I don't think anyway

Skittlesss · 23/03/2020 16:40

@Homkaismycat know who this guy is?

BBC news says normals downing Street brief will not take place today

Skittlesss · 23/03/2020 16:42

@CharlieTangoBanana they’ll do the highlights the same way people paint the wall of their staircase - paintbrush tied to a broom handle Grin

MangePasTesOnglesVilain · 23/03/2020 16:42

I have received the high risk group text from the NHS.

Am all for following the rules, but I can't stay 3ft from my dcs and dh for 12 weeks. Not realistically.

For a start that would make for a very interesting sex life.

MangePasTesOnglesVilain · 23/03/2020 16:43

Although ds (18) when told this news remarked 'as long as you can still cook for us'...
Confused

GatoradeMeBitch · 23/03/2020 16:44

I had to go out yesterday and today. Yesterday I saw clusters of teens drinking on the pier, and a fish and chip queue where people were standing so close together you couldn't see daylight between them. Today I had to pop into the doctors, and again, the queue was so tightly bunched up it was so odd. There was a woman with a scarf around her face standing so close to me I could hear her breathing Confused

MurrayTheMonk · 23/03/2020 16:44

Oh that is good then!

thelittlefox · 23/03/2020 16:44

@MurraytheMonk I am sorry you are not being given the same priority access to supermarkets etc as the NHS, the work you do is just as important.

MurrayTheMonk · 23/03/2020 16:44

Well not good but not as bad it could be. You know what i mean

Horehound · 23/03/2020 16:45

@MangePasTesOnglesVilain I get the feeling you maybe shouldn't be having sex at all!!

Angryrant55 · 23/03/2020 16:45

Lots of companies are not letting their workers go home - building trade is barely shutting. Workers cant just not go in as they won't be paid. Thats why the government needs to order companies.

AvocadoOwl · 23/03/2020 16:46

I think they'll do a post cobra briefing later and announce lockdown.

They are being quite clever about it.

Homkaismycat · 23/03/2020 16:47

@Skittlesss
Of course.
It just husband says it’s ok to go.. he says nobody ever there as never busy..

Angryrant55 · 23/03/2020 16:47

Ditto self employed trades people who probably not going to be able to survive on £94.

Horehound · 23/03/2020 16:48

@AvocadoOwl I actually don't think they will. Bit today anyway

middleager · 23/03/2020 16:48

I feel nervous about today's figures because
A) We know they're only testing some
B) The whole Mother's Day/Run to the Sun weekend that Boris told us to "enjoy" will explode in a fornight.
The line from that doctor stays with me: "See your mother today, see us in a fornight" (or similar).
