Seriously, fuck off.

I live in a South East coastal town and today on my facebook ive seen photos of full car parks and hoardes of naice middle class people all gathered on the beach with "take away" beers in plastic glasses.

Just fuck off - that is not social distancing because you are outside. Fuck off back to London or where ever you came from, or just fuck off if you are local.

I managed to talk to my mum on the phone today. She lives in the next street but i think I have CV. She is 84 with dementia and other illnesses, she has carers and cannot understand why I'm not visiting her and can't hear me on the phone but i was able to talk to her today. I told her I loved her because im actually scared ive already passed this on to her and I won't see her again.

So yes I know its a lovely sunny day and all the shops are shut and yes it's great to get out and get fresh air but do not all congregate around a small beach area to drink beer you mindless fucks.

FUCK OFF Angry

There's no way it's only 80%, going by what we've seen the past few days and weeks.

Indeed.

What I witnessed in the last few days. From a safe distance

Idiotic hairdresser on Facebook pushing offers. Various young people on facebook getting their hair, nails, eyelashes etc done for "the weekend"

People in parks with their children and Grandchildren and no regard for distance. One woman had a pocket full of tissues and kept wiping her Grandchilds nose and then putting the tissue back in her pocket and then 5 minutes later, reaching in the same pocket for a tissue to wipe her own nose Confused

A huge supermarket rammed to the gills, no one social distancing AT ALL. It wasn't as if there was any produce in the place!

Various Facebook youth bragging about partying at a nightclub that was open till about 3.30am this morning

People thinking they're still jetting off on holiday in a months time

endofthelinefinally · 21/03/2020 21:39

My local Boots is allowing 10 people at a time into the store, but they are all crammed next to each other in a huge queue outside the shop.
Confused

HighNetGirth · 21/03/2020 21:40

The worst thing is that the selfish people are not the ones who will suffer from their recklessness. It will be random people they infect who bear the brunt.

fruitybum · 21/03/2020 21:44

The majority of our country seems to be thick as fuck with regards to not going out. It makes me so angry.
Love to you and your mum

CalmYoBadSelf · 21/03/2020 21:46

It' such a shame stupidity isn't a risk factor so we could all self isolate, safe in the knowledge that these idiots are only wiping out themselves and not us or our families and friends

GabsAlot · 21/03/2020 21:50

@emmcan why is london going to be worse-my dh works there hardly anyoneon the trains or in the streets

the station manager said even by last night everyone was gone by ten

Florencenotflo · 21/03/2020 21:51

@TheoriginalLEM I'm in the next town over but I've seen the pictures on Facebook. Apparently the police were called to disperse people eventually. So thoughtless.

If you need anything or you want anything doing or dropping off to your mum then please PM me. I'm healthy and symptom free and happy to help if I can!

GabsAlot · 21/03/2020 21:52

not everyone flocking to the coast is from london i th8ink my point shuld have been

Redbrook · 21/03/2020 21:52

I just hope that me and my compliant, high risk family are all alive at the end of this, and all the selfish idiots are the ones to suffer. But I know it won’t be.
People just don’t listen. It’s terrifying me.

TheoriginalLEM · 21/03/2020 21:53

@gabsalot that's because they are all 'daaan the coast'

@YouokHun Flowers That is heartbreaking, there are no words. I lost my dear dad to cancer and would have been devastated if I couldn't visit him in hospital

w00dlander · 21/03/2020 21:55

I live in an AONB. Rammed today in the obvious hotspots, cars badly parked everywhere.

Take away cafe with lots of seats outside rammed.

We need a proper lockdown unfortunately because people are selfish twats.

TheoriginalLEM · 21/03/2020 21:56

@Florencenotflo thankyou so much, that is so lovely. We are ok i think, I'm out of quarantine on Wednesday and my Dd will be doing a food run but that is so kind.

To be honest we might as well send everyone back to school and work. If people can’t do this then it’s not worth ruining the economy over. The sensible approach was to let the well get it while isolating the elderly and vulnerable. But it needed mandating and the government didn’t follow through with it.

^This^

People are out and about as usual in our London neighbourhood, and they were absolutely out in droves in the local park this afternoon. It is as if people are incapable of believing things that they can't yet actually see. Statistically and epidemiologically speaking, we are on track for a disaster possibly greater than what's happening in Italy. I am in despair that the government hasn't mandated stricter measures.

Frenchw1fe · 21/03/2020 21:59

I miss not being able to check up on my parents in the uk but I’m glad I live in France where social distancing is strictly enforced.

StrangeLookingParasite · 21/03/2020 21:59

I fully intend to walk around the field, drive somewhere, and walk around a forest

So special. Not like the rest of us hoi polloi.

YouokHun · 21/03/2020 22:00

Thanks @DomsInDaBunglaow, yes, a terrible situation made so much harder by the virus. Sorry you lost your DF. It’s so tough. I have FaceTime (while he’s still able to use it) so that’s something I suppose.

cheninblanc · 21/03/2020 22:00

Guess they all need to get out as they've been home all week, meanwhile in the nhs we are so shocked at this and our workload we're home shell shocked. These sort of people are all me me me. Disgusting humans

Frenchw1fe · 21/03/2020 22:01

This is the uk now at the point Italy was at 2 weeks ago.

FUCK OFF
Haffiana · 21/03/2020 22:01

Shrieking Brexit voters are shrinking the boundaries to counties now to keep out the imaginary London (or whatever) 'immigrants'.

It will be pitchforks guarding the village next.

justasking111 · 21/03/2020 22:05

@BookWitch we are neighbours I was dismayed to see the tourists here this weekend. As you say one hospital 4 ventilators. I am with the OP

TaighNamGastaOrt · 21/03/2020 22:05

I live semi-rurally near the highlands-its campervan mayhem here-Glen Nevis car park had over 30 camper vans parked in it-they had to close it and throw them all out. Same further north-my MiL lives up there and its same, parked in car park beside the co-op, buying all their stock. picnic on the beach.
fuckin selfish idiots.

EwwSprouts · 21/03/2020 22:10

The message that you can be without symptoms and still pass it on is just not sinking in.

I have a friend who is self-isolating because they were abroad last week. Another friend thought she was 'batshit' because she's not got a fever.

TheoriginalLEM · 21/03/2020 22:14

Haffiana I am a shrieking remainer. I just want people to stay at home. Our local hospital was at breaking point before this, the death toll from this thing will be ten times more than those who actually die from the virus, so with respect, you can fuck off as well.

JediJim · 21/03/2020 22:14

It’s tough isn’t it? I mean school kids are off now until possibly September ( but who knows) so keeping children indoors for all that time will be really awful.
I know we are only meant to go out when necessary, I also live near the coast. Is it ok to walk along the seafront do you think? Obviously not in big groups.
It’s hard to keep a five year old indoors and entertained but obviously will do if it saves lives.
If the government is so serious why aren’t we in lockdown now?
