FUCK OFF

Seriously, fuck off.

I live in a South East coastal town and today on my facebook ive seen photos of full car parks and hoardes of naice middle class people all gathered on the beach with "take away" beers in plastic glasses.

Just fuck off - that is not social distancing because you are outside. Fuck off back to London or where ever you came from, or just fuck off if you are local.

I managed to talk to my mum on the phone today. She lives in the next street but i think I have CV. She is 84 with dementia and other illnesses, she has carers and cannot understand why I'm not visiting her and can't hear me on the phone but i was able to talk to her today. I told her I loved her because im actually scared ive already passed this on to her and I won't see her again.

So yes I know its a lovely sunny day and all the shops are shut and yes it's great to get out and get fresh air but do not all congregate around a small beach area to drink beer you mindless fucks.

FUCK OFF Angry

And our neighbours - who I know the general routine of as I'm at home all day every day all year....they carried on as usual....I was like "where are they finding to go???!!!" What can they possibly need to go out for??? They've been in and out as usual all week!! What are they doing??!!!

missmeg3leg · 21/03/2020 20:16

I hear you loud & clear OP & you are 100% to say it....The message is as simple STAY IN.....& I don’t say it light-heartedly......I have not just spent a 12 hr shift setting up extra ventilators & cases are starting to roll in....IT’S REAL....

LadyTiredWinterBottom2 · 21/03/2020 20:17

Drive through the town you are referring to and was totally shocked. Even someone on my Facebook was there 🙄 they said it was busier than London. As it was sunny we thought we would have a walk on a local beach but as everyone else had that idea we stayed in the car. Even the next beach down, there were cars parked right next to each other.

wildcherries · 21/03/2020 20:18

@TheoriginalLEMT I'm so sorry. Your OP made me tear up. I sincerely hope you get to see your Mum soon.

You're right, they can fuck off.

SisyphusLangClegRocks · 21/03/2020 20:21

I'm in a coastal town too OP and we're getting the same thing, A lot of Londoners have second homes here and think they own the place.

I've been self-isolating for days and keep seeing fools wander past my place in groups carrying alcohol and treating it like a Bank Holiday. The selfish, thoughtless fuckers.

Doyoumind · 21/03/2020 20:23

I haven't been further than the garden today but from what I can tell things have been quiet around here. I don't understand why people would do this. Horrible, selfish and stupid.

endofthelinefinally · 21/03/2020 20:24

I always knew stupidity and selfishness was on the increase but this is appalling.

IpeartreeI · 21/03/2020 20:25

These people are like a cross between Typhoid Mary and a plague of locusts rolled into one.

landofgiants · 21/03/2020 20:25

People just don't get it, do they? I'm in North Wales and visitors will be welcome........... once the pandemic is over! Our health board is in special measures, if you get sick it will not be a good place to be.

Hope you feel better soon OP.

Russellbrandshair · 21/03/2020 20:27

I think I live where you do OP and I think it’s pointless. We are both ruining the economy AND spreading the virus. Wtf is the point of doing both? At least if you can’t stop it spreading because everyone is too stupid then let’s open everything again because what’s the point?

TheDogsMother · 21/03/2020 20:27

I've been in tears a lot about this. What's the matter with people ? Why on earth can't they see what's going on elsewhere. Even good friends who really should understand this don't seem to. Just why ?

Originalyellowbelly · 21/03/2020 20:28

I was due to take my 2 youngest dgc on holiday to Cornwall in July, I cancelled it today. I was in two minds as its a small park and it would be a shame if they went bust but I decided it was best for everyone to stay at home.

YouokHun · 21/03/2020 20:31

I feel for you OP. My father is in the late stages of cancer. He’s in hospital and I can’t be with him because he can only have one designated visitor (understandably). I may never be with him again thanks to this virus. My DM who is the designated visitor is terrified they’ll ban her and he’ll die alone. I can’t support her properly because I can’t go near her. She drives an hour to the hospital and spends all day with him. She’s frighted of catching it and we are conducting ourselves very carefully. Last week by BiL died suddenly and we can’t give him the funeral he wanted, it’s simply a matter of quiet disposal. These challenges focus the mind and it makes me so angry that some people put their enjoyment of a sunny day over the lives of others.

LoveBeingAMum555 · 21/03/2020 20:32

Yes I am with you, I am in rural Yorkshire and shocked at people's selfishness. I have a son at home with serious health problems and we dont need this.

My self employed husband can carry on working safely outdoors with no contact with customers at the moment but if we go into lockdown what happens to his income? That could be 4 of us (including DS2 who is a uni student) living on one wage. This is additional unnecessary worry for us. Just bloody follow government advice.

Helpwithaversion · 21/03/2020 20:35

It’s too late
People are stupid. They ignore advice then up and go spreading it. There’s nothing in place to stop this anything the government do now is too little too late
We are, unfortunately, doomed to a fate possibly worse than Italy

PinkDaisyRoses · 21/03/2020 20:36

I can’t see why people out doors with their family is a problem for you.
Really I don’t.

I fully intend to walk around the field, drive somewhere, and walk around a forest

So long as I’m not near other people

PenguinBarnotBird · 21/03/2020 20:38

It’s not just stupidity though, for a lot of people it’s pure selfishness. The rules don’t apply to me etc. This has really made me look at a couple of friends in a new light - people who don’t put others first, who don’t believe the restrictions should affect them, generally just being complete bellends

Rosehip10 · 21/03/2020 20:39

@IheartNiles Did you not see the bloody graphs produced by Imperial for the government? That idiotic idea of herd immunity would have swamped the capacity of the NHS many many times over.

bbqprawns · 21/03/2020 20:40

My shit-for-brains friends (some of whom have just returned from other European coronavirus hotspots) are still hosting house parties and drinking in large groups. Declined an invite 2 days ago by telling them that I'd rather stay home and play World of Warcraft, and now I'm 'paranoid' and 'brainwashed by fear'. Astonishing.

CalmYoBadSelf · 21/03/2020 20:45

I'm amazed at this, everybody I know is taking this really seriously. Friends and family are all staying indoors, occasionally going out for a walk on the beach which is huge, so you are never close to anyone, and always windy. Fingers crossed it works

rjebgf · 21/03/2020 20:45

People are so bloody stupid, it's unbelievable. We need a nanny state because we are too fuckwitted to stay home.

BluebirdHill · 21/03/2020 20:46

It's infuriating. Has Boris still got those water cannon that he bought? If so time to get them out and use them on crowds.

jasjas1973 · 21/03/2020 20:51

@PinkDaisyRoses

But you'll stop, touch a gate, go to a public loo, use a fuel pump, open a waste bin... then someone else comes along ... do you get it?

So either you pass it on or you become infected.

Its people like that have caused the deaths of 1000s in Italy and Spain and you'll now do it here, they ignored the advice, moved around and spread disease, only when the trucks took the dead away did they stop and think

People should only travel only if its a necessity, not for leisure.

bbqprawns · 21/03/2020 20:51

Just checked the Instagram of one of my aforementioned friends. It's still 'early' and there are already 29 people (as far as I can see) in her front room. Unreal.

chipsandgin · 21/03/2020 20:53

The extreme fuckwittery is why the lockdown needs to happen, just so they actually can’t! Utter selfish pricks.
