Seriously, fuck off.

I live in a South East coastal town and today on my facebook ive seen photos of full car parks and hoardes of naice middle class people all gathered on the beach with "take away" beers in plastic glasses.

Just fuck off - that is not social distancing because you are outside. Fuck off back to London or where ever you came from, or just fuck off if you are local.

I managed to talk to my mum on the phone today. She lives in the next street but i think I have CV. She is 84 with dementia and other illnesses, she has carers and cannot understand why I'm not visiting her and can't hear me on the phone but i was able to talk to her today. I told her I loved her because im actually scared ive already passed this on to her and I won't see her again.

So yes I know its a lovely sunny day and all the shops are shut and yes it's great to get out and get fresh air but do not all congregate around a small beach area to drink beer you mindless fucks.

FUCK OFF Angry

@missmeg3leg Thank you for all you are doing Flowers

rosegoldwatcher · 21/03/2020 20:57

Hopefully the survivors of this mess will be, predominantly, those who can see further than the ends of their own noses.

KeepWashingThoseHands · 21/03/2020 20:57

I've seen hairdressers send messages round saying the salon has been deep cleaned etc. so it's 'safe' to go in.

MISSING THE POINT PEOPLE!!

You may still be a carrier and yes it's shit your business is under threat - but so are people's lives.

I'd totally start fining people (and more) for not following the rules and personally think the guidelines it should be mandated. I call people out directly if I see this level of stupidity.

divinemrsc · 21/03/2020 20:58

Hope you get better! By the by, this is nature eventually culling off the stupid. Give her a month to do her job, maybe they’ll start listening.

scarbados · 21/03/2020 20:59

We've had the same up here today - visitors pouring in from the cities, probably bringing the virus with them and packing the bloody amusement arcades. From Redcar down to Bridlington it's been like a bank holiday weekend. Bloody wankers!

MMN123 · 21/03/2020 20:59

Yanbu - same happened in France - crowds gathering in parks and by rivers

It’s not hard to just stay at home!

DitheringDoris · 21/03/2020 20:59

Are you in West Wittering by any chance? I’m along the coast a little bit and heard it was jam packed over there today, also I heard they closed the beach car park. Selfish, irresponsible madness.

nancy75 · 21/03/2020 21:01

The govt are saying we should still get outside to exercise? Obviously packing on to a beach is idiotic but walking through an empty woods/field/ country walk?

Northernsoullover · 21/03/2020 21:01

Walk on the promenade anyone? Pic from a news site.

FUCK OFF
TheMemoryLingers · 21/03/2020 21:04

The govt are saying we should still get outside to exercise?

Fine - have a brisk walk/run in your own area. Only go where you can reach on foot. Don't drive to local beauty spots because you can guarantee others will have the same idea.

YouAreTheEggManIAmTheWalrus · 21/03/2020 21:04

Exactly the same in The Lakes. I had to go collect a prescription and was genuinely shocked at the volume of tourists milling around. If I have to go out again I’m actually going to start telling people to eff off home, I’ve had enough. Nearest hospital is 30 miles away, its pretty useless & we’ve an ageing population. These people can’t possibly stay at home for a few weeks? Where do they get off doing as they please regardless of being asked to stay home? Blood was boiling.

MadameF · 21/03/2020 21:05

Make the most of your freedom to walk outside alone. We can't do that in France anymore, forests, beaches are shut because people abused the right we had to 'take air' alone.
Confinement is hard but necessary, Wi hope the the UK government starts enforcing it soon.

Amortentia · 21/03/2020 21:07

I live in Glasgow but I'm very concerned by the number of people heading up from England to the highlands.

The spread of cv is much less here so far. The highlands have a large elderly demographic who are high risk. Add this to the lower numbers of available medical facilities and the fact that emergency cases will have to be flown to larger cities puts strain on all hospitals across Scotland. We've a small population and a health system to match. It's struggling under current demands, we can't have our population growing like this.

From what I've seen on Twitter many of the local shops have been cleared out by this influx. It's madness, the selfishness and stupidity is putting people at risk. Stay at home.

debbs77 · 21/03/2020 21:08

I totally agree. I'm live along the south coast too and people's ignorance is astounding.

Buttybach · 21/03/2020 21:09

Barry island had hundreds of people there today on the photos. All queuing for chips by the takeaway. Definitely not 2m apart

BluSky5 · 21/03/2020 21:10

I’m a nurse and we still have visitors coming in. I’m horrified to be honest. Went on my break while they were in. Puts me on edge. We have everything our patients need at the moment but we don’t need more CV offerings for our patients or ourselves thanks very much!

DowntownAbby · 21/03/2020 21:15

It's the same here out in the sticks in Yorkshire!

We live on a quiet lane in the hills and fields. It's always been popular with walkers, cyclists, horses, but I've NEVER seen as many large groups of people walking past as today!

It's absolutely fucking ridiculous, it really is.

paxillin · 21/03/2020 21:18

I'm in central London. Wetherspoons was packed yesterday, I could hear people party until it was shut, seemingly at the usual time.

bbqprawns · 21/03/2020 21:21

I know I'm just ranting now but someone just captioned their Insta Story with 'fuck the virus, don't let anybody tell you how to live your life'. Angry

Flaxmeadow · 21/03/2020 21:22

I'm a Grandmother now, but when I was a teenager my fiance once said to me "80% of people are idiots". I remember replying that I thought he was being unreasonable and not to be so judgemental.

After witnessing the way people have behaved in the last few days, I'm now inclined to agree with him.

Absolute idiocy, everywhere. Utter fucking spanners. A big fat herd of stupidity

Sturmundcalm · 21/03/2020 21:23

Scottish Govt are officially saying F* Off and don't even think of coming to the Highlands: www.gov.scot/news/travel-warning/?fbclid=IwAR3uJA-dd3WRwAxrDiCXBZRI2GWIs1Sk7R9YEuzike2q8kQZP-QzvzQMzK8

Anyone who comes to an area with remote communities, poor infrastructure and limited medical facilities is being both idiotic and selfish. And all of the idiots out today acting like it's a bank holiday or something are going to result in us moving to full lockdown/quarantine...

The message isn't difficult to understand - STAY HOME!!!!

Rosebel · 21/03/2020 21:25

I don't get this at all. Yes I have gone out to get food and medication and to see the midwife but why else would you go out (unless you have to for work)?
It's so selfish and the death rate keeps rising and still people don't get it. Go in your garden if you need fresh air. I have family members I'm terrified for but everyone else just carries on being selfish. Don't these people have vulnerable family members?

DowntownAbby · 21/03/2020 21:25

...when I was a teenager my fiance once said to me "80% of people are idiots"

@flaxmeadow that's nonsense!

There's no way it's only 80%, going by what we've seen the past few days and weeks.

FlamingoAndJohn · 21/03/2020 21:26

I live by a popular dog walking park. I can see it from my house. It’s been almost empty all day. Much less people than normal.

The sad thing is it’s going to end up with lockdown because people can’t be trusted.

CustardySergeant · 21/03/2020 21:26

"It’s too late People are stupid. They ignore advice then up and go spreading it. There’s nothing in place to stop this anything the government do now is too little too late
We are, unfortunately, doomed to a fate possibly worse than Italy"

I agree with every single word of that Helpwithaversion In Australia, Bondi Beach had to be closed because it was packed with people! It's terrifying and there's not a damned thing we can do about it, except to self-isolate (properly!) and hope that we - and those we love - survive this. But many won't. Life isn't fair and many will die because of the selfishness and stupidity of others. Sad
