@cricketcrocket
I made this a couple of days ago. I've seen similar from the FT but they have a paywall

Banks will keep open as long as possible but will probably eventually go cash machine only - but hopefully keeping some security because external cash machines are risky.

CricketCrocket · 21/03/2020 11:48

Thanks Think. Omg, so we’re on track to be worse than Italy.

BeyondMymymymyCorona · 21/03/2020 11:48

Hore, bit further investigation from me - it was a local shop. Both he and the shop are vocally telling Facebook how awesome he is 🙄

stupid stupid people. This is costco watford this morning. Neighbouring borough of Harrow. They just don't get it!

Skittlesss · 21/03/2020 11:50

I suppose one good thing is that I can finally try to leave my hair unwashed for more than 2 days. Grin

Really trying to see the good side of all this as it feels so scary and overwhelming.

SistemaAddict · 21/03/2020 11:51

My ds has longish hair that needs a cut but his sisters will just braid it for him Grin he's not fussed. He's got beautiful thick blonde hair and it suits him long. We have plenty of hair bobbles!

BeyondMymymymyCorona · 21/03/2020 11:53

Well I cancelled my amazon subscribe and save make-up for this month, but then otoh (TMI warning!) my vag isn't too keen on the amount of baths with bath-bombs I have had Grin

Angryrant55 · 21/03/2020 11:57

My mum's hairdresser thinks it's all a hoax - I bet she is open Monday, I have to pass it when I go to have my dressing checked again (I had a fall a week and half ago and injured my leg.)

GreyGardens88 · 21/03/2020 12:02

Sent some flowers to my mum today but now I'm worried she's going to catch coronavirus from them Sad

SistemaAddict · 21/03/2020 12:21

I've given up on make up. I always wear it because I don't like my face without. But I don't care at the moment. I wash my hair daily but that will stop now as I don't know how long the shampoo will last. I've told dc they showers are no longer daily.

Mazarinegreen · 21/03/2020 12:21

I have a family member who has lots of Botox - they are wondering what's going to happen when it wears off - hopefully could provide the rest of the family some much needed amusement if they suddenly become all wrinkly 😁

Mujtaba Rahman - 'On a quick food run; doesn't seem like people are listening. Wonder if it won't be long before parks are closed too.'

Jonathan Munro - 'For those following the Downing St briefings on #coronavirus take note that today’s is earlier than others - 2pm live across BBCNews BBCOne
and bbc5live.'

Flaxmeadow · 21/03/2020 12:30

I have a relative who is partial to beauty treatments, to say the least, and taking zero notice of any advice. Always in the salon, instead of doing practical things like buying provisions. Ordering frivolous clothes to be delivered, when delivery drivers need all the breaks they can get.

Horehound · 21/03/2020 12:31

A shop in st Andrews put food outside for people to out in paper bags. Folk gathering and picking up fruit and veg close together. I commented saying it's not social distancing!

selfisolatingsince2007 · 21/03/2020 12:37

In Barbados with husband for a holiday, we arrived here before all the FCO changes, and literally woke up to changes everyday. So anxious about it. I really want to come home early but hubby thinks the world is panicking for no reason, I'm pregnant and just feel it would make me so much happier to know I'm home and safe, with no risk of being stuck.

Does anyone think it's unreasonable to want to come back early? Hubby's family are all imploring him to consider bringing us home early but he's not having it.

I have never wished away a holiday this much before 😭

6 days til our flight and really counting

Eyewhisker · 21/03/2020 12:41

This article is quite reassuring. It’s good to know that the NHS can increase ventilator capacity

“89 new cases have tested positive for Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Wales, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 280, although the true number of cases is likely to be higher. Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) is now circulating in every part of Wales.

Angryrant55 · 21/03/2020 12:53

Anshel Pfeffer - 'Arie Even ז״ל Israel’s first coronavirus victim passed away last night in Jerusalem at 88. The obituaries will emphasize his death and the fact he was a Holocaust survivor. But his family will celebrate the long life he built after the destruction. And so should we all.'

SunshineCake · 21/03/2020 13:09

Surely NHS staff are rather too busy and too knackered to be getting their hair done?Hmm.

countrygirl99 · 21/03/2020 13:09

Banks have been asked to identify core branches that will stay open even if it's for a minimal counter service only. It may mean going to the nearest large town or city. External ATMs will be replenished with cash but most banks will probably turn off deposit facilities where a branch is closed due to fraud risk.
Including bank staff in key workers mean the lists of branches closing next week were revised downwards. Interestingly there has been a much bigger increase in cash withdrawals over the counter than via ATM. Possibly an age related thing.

Allie Hodgkins-Brown - 'GOVT - The Environment, Food & Rural Affairs Secretary George Eustice is hosting the Government’s daily press
conference at 1400.'

Boris taking the day off then.
