I'm still here, had to step away for a while, my pneumonia doesn't seem to be responding to the cocktail of antibiotics so they have been extended into a third week.
My respiratory consultant is in isolation following exposure and I have been broken by what my kids and their families are going through.

CharlieTangoBanana · 21/03/2020 00:44

@ClientQueen so sorry, my ds who is a chef was made jobless and homeless today, I feel your sadness.

boatyardblues · 21/03/2020 00:46

Charlie 💐 It’s unbelievably tough at the mo & it must be so much harder when you are unwell & at low ebb.

boatyardblues · 21/03/2020 00:46

ClientQueen 💐 for you and your Dad too.

Thing keeping me awake atm

Where are our temporary hospitals, requisitioned beds, extra capacity? Is there a plan?

SunshineCake · 21/03/2020 06:12

I'm so sad for us all. What on earth will the future be like? I am definitely unwell but frustrating not to be able to be tested. Having helped save my dh when he has a heart attack I might now kill him if I have the virus Sad. I have asthma, woken up coughing and struggling to breathe properly and I also now have conjunctivitis.

It has to be at least a week since I started coughing but that was one cough twice a day with a slight cold. I have been coughing more for about four days. Am I coming to the end or still potentially could become more ill? Does anyone even know the pattern?Sad

Take care everyone.

sadatchristmas1 · 21/03/2020 06:14

I'm really scared. Things seem to be getting worse now and working retail I fear getting this virus and bringing it home to my kids. I also fear that if I get it I could die. We should have been more prepared for this.

Casino218 · 21/03/2020 06:15

@SunshineCake I'm about day 12. I think it can start to improve by day 12. I'm definitely coughing less. I think DH about 2-3 days behind me and he's feeling his crappest.

Casino218 · 21/03/2020 06:17

@sadatchristmas1 try to think that most people who get this are absolutely fine. How old are you op? Have you underlying medical conditions?

sadatchristmas1 · 21/03/2020 06:23

I'm 41, I have diet controlled type 2 diabetes and rheumatoid arthritis. I was advised to stop taking my naproxen last week. I can't self isolate for 12 weeks as I won't get paid. No pay no way to pay my bills or feed my kids. I think I'm going to have to start walking to work and try to cut down on the risk on public transport. People have been dropping like flies in work and self isolating for 2 weeks as per government guidelines. I've been working extra hours as where I work has been crazy. The panic buying has been of epic proportions!

MurrayTheMonk · 21/03/2020 07:14

Advised to stop taking Naproxen? I have the old Arthur and my nurse said to carry on taking the lot-Naproxen, methotrexate-because worse to be crippled with arthritis that have the virus...
(Obvs might be diff for you depending on your other conditions). Then I started to worry about not being able to get more, so I've halved doses myself....subsequently I feel like my bones are on fire, so I've started taking as normal again....
Be careful-you don't want to protect yourself in one way, to hamstring yourself in another....

MurrayTheMonk · 21/03/2020 07:19

Is it common with the virus to start to feel a bit better one day, then rubbish again the next do we know? I felt a bit better last night, worse again this morning... assuming I have it -as have the cough, fever, chest pain and deadly tiredness, but without testing who can really say?

SunshineCake · 21/03/2020 07:24

Thank you very much for answering me @Casino218.. That is really helpful. If you are on day 12 when do you think you are safe to go out? DH and I have to be shielded for 12 weeks (not sure when that starts from) but we will run out of food/milk before the end of the 12 weeks.

I have just had emails from Sainsbury's and the Body Shop and they have made me very tearful. I also have weird chest discomfort and feeling a bit scared.

Skittlesss · 21/03/2020 07:27

I think they’re going to do a further lockdown of shops etc tomorrow. Boris said he was going to be busy on Sunday.

MarshaBradyo · 21/03/2020 07:32

Johnson meeting supermarkets today god hope he stops being so wishy washy and gets them to sort out food supply issue.

picklemewalnuts · 21/03/2020 07:35

A young adult friend had pneumonia a few weeks ago. I wonder?

MarshaBradyo · 21/03/2020 07:35

Damning HCP on R4 re PPE and lack of safety

picklemewalnuts · 21/03/2020 07:35

It's glorious here this morning.

And I've realised there won't be any visiting garden centres this Spring.

MarshaBradyo · 21/03/2020 07:42

Why is it always Jeremy Hunt former health MP. Where’s the current one?

riotlady · 21/03/2020 07:44

@MurrayTheMonk wondering the same thing as I felt quite a bit better yesterday and now rough again, I haven’t had a fever though so my symptoms are a bit less conclusive

MurrayTheMonk · 21/03/2020 07:48

My v high fever only lasted a two days-come down a lot now-still
A bit higher than normal but ok-the rest of the symptoms still here on day 6....

MurrayTheMonk · 21/03/2020 07:49

At this point I'm actually dreading coming out into the world. I'd sooner have ration book than face Tesco as it seems to be now...

Petiolaris · 21/03/2020 07:54

People are bloody stockpiling seeds and compost now. Wilko is sold out!

abitoflight · 21/03/2020 08:03

@MurrayTheMonk
I've read somewhere that it can start with a few days symptoms then feeling better then the chest symptoms

SunshineCake · 21/03/2020 08:08

A definitive day by day list of symptoms would be helpful as I'm confused.

Apparently France has seized a lorry load of face masks bound for England.
