I am healthy with no underlying conditions , family are pretty much the same. But I just read a thread about a healthy man who is now in critical care fighting for his life with covid.

Very worried about my Mum, who is almost 90. I am in NZ and she is UK - have had to cancel my trip next month and just wondering if I will see her again. It is a difficult time.

I'm worried about a couple of people in my life dying of CV including my best friend
and my work 'wife'.

Other than that my friends/family are a pretty health bunch, so hopefully get CV mildly and not need medical treatment.

I'm worried about the mental health of myself & my friends/family, especially the longer this goes on. At the moment I am still working (pt) but I except that to change soon, and then I will be very lonely.

Hopefully we are more resilient than we think and the internet can cope with the increased traffic because it is my life-line at the moment.

I'm worried about car accidents/injured which would normally be dealt with by the NHS - but now perhaps you might not get the treatment you would normally get, leading to death/long term injuries.

So far it feels like the shit hasn't hit the fan (I don't work for the NHS) and I don't know if anyone in my social circles who has died or been treated in hospital so trying to keep calm about it all.

Sadly, if you look at the conditions in hospitals in Italy COVID-19 patients are not being sent home to die. They are so infected many doctors and nurses have died in Italy despite good protective equipment. On that basis there is no visiting. The bodies are taken away in army trucks to be cremated without ceremony.
I’m sorry to upset you but this is the brutal truth shown on television, and why we must stop all unnecessary social contact, the only weapon we have at the moment.
