Wetherspoons Guy seems to be helping natural selection.

Our schools have been very clear on the key worker rules. Primary it has to be 2 key workers or single parent key workers. High school says keep them
At home if at all possible we don't want any child in school of possible.

AvocadoOwl · 20/03/2020 10:52

On the plus side, if big companies like Wetherspoons are going to brazenly flout advice like this then it might force the govt to implement tighter restrictions on social venues like pubs like they should have done in the first place.

AvocadoOwl · 20/03/2020 10:54

Our school are doing everything possible to ensure the absolute minimum number of children are sent in. Even key workers need to demonstrate that they have exhausted every option available to them.

'Everything f*king generates from them and their filthy markets': Luisa Zissman rants that the Chinese are to blame for coronavirus and country's government should be 'made to pay people's mortgages' around the world. The ex Apprentice star told her 553k followers that she was 'f*king angry at the Chinese' for spreading the disease via their 'inhumane animal practices. Posting a series of videos during her holiday in Barbados, Luisa even suggested the Chinese government should cover the costs of people's lost incomes. She told her followers that 'this will not be a popular view point but I don't care. The World Health Organisation states that 'possible animal sources of COVID-19 have not yet been confirmed' '

This is why war with china might happen - people will want see revenge including scenes of bejing being bombed.

Advice seems to be no more than
20 percent of the school cohorts.

Just stood in Superdrug queuing out the door for baby wipes and there behind me 2 women saying they had children going into school as normal because they are care workers for the elderly on the night shift and they need to sleep during the day.

1 said she did 1 night in the week, 1 shift on a weekend but she was sending 3 children in to school every day as normal because it would confuse them sending them in 1 day in the week.

Where's the line.........!

My ds is a vulnerable child with an ehcp and even he's not going in.

People are abusing it,

MangePasTesOnglesVilain · 20/03/2020 11:02

I think the gov line should be

Even if you don't care about getting the virus or others getting it,

if you spread it by not following advice

there won't be medical care for YOU if you need it when the system is broken.

Xenia · 20/03/2020 11:03

The rules are not very clear. By the way anyone using baby wipes you don't actually have to have them but I can see if people want them and are able to get them they will go out and queue to get them even if the queue puts them at risk of catching it.

Angryrant55 · 20/03/2020 11:03

But then how do you prove you got it not following advice rather than shoping in tesco.

OP posts:
Angryrant55 · 20/03/2020 11:05

Afterall they haven't even properly advised people to not go shopping in say H and M yet.

Dp is back in the office. I've told him he's confined to the bedroom until 5 days after his last day in.

I'm fucking livid. I'm trying to keep this out of home and he's going in when he can work from home.

whataballbag · 20/03/2020 11:09

Our school have been very strict about key workers too.

Had a text today saying teachers will be posting/delivering learning materials

AvocadoOwl · 20/03/2020 11:20

Hmm

I think that is quite a leap. To say the least.

Sam Coates Sky - 'Underlining confusion around government advice, Downing Street spokesman is refusing to criticise Tim Martin of Weatherspoon comments on keeping his pubs open or that there has been”hardly any” transmission in pubs.
They said medical and scientific advisors have issued guidance.'

LuxLFC · 20/03/2020 11:44

How do they know about trasmission in pubs if there is no testing & tracing?
I wouldn't be suprised by a war with China, after all we're dealing with Bozo & Trump! They might turn around & say it was released on purpose as biological warfare.

Angryrant55 · 20/03/2020 11:53

jenny hill - 'Bavaria orders widespread restrictions on personal movement. Stopped short of full lockdown but from Sat people must stay at home unless going to work, shops, Dr or pharmacy, visiting partners. Outdoor activity allowed but only alone or with people from the same household.'

Baby wipes are not something I'd risk it over no, Xenia. See also sanitary pads, nappies and toilet roll. I'd just make sure I had enough washing powder!!

colouringinpro · 20/03/2020 11:57

when are they going to shutdown London?! Confused Photos of crowded tubes are appalling Sad

kirinm · 20/03/2020 11:58

Who the hell is Luissa whoever? I don't think we need to worry about governments going to war with China because a non-entity like her says it is their fault. What a dick.

Ant Middleton of SAS: Who dares wins fame is also suggesting that he won't stop shaking people's hands or going to work etc because he is also another prize twat.

I do not want a lockdown because I don't like the idea of the government being able to force us to stay in our homes but some sort of enforced closure of wherever people intend to congregate needs to be considered. There are clearly too many morons who are going to ignore whatever is said.

Day one of trying to work from home with a toddler is not going well. I am not sure this is sustainable for three months...

Angryrant55 · 20/03/2020 12:04

Goverment knows it cant aford to lockdown and reduce taxes. Most tube travellers are the people who cant wfh and the goverment still not fully explaining how millions of unemployed will survive.

Scientific evidence used by the government has now been published: www.gov.uk/government/news/coronavirus-covid-19-scientific-evidence-supporting-the-uk-government-response

SpringIsBlooming · 20/03/2020 12:19

Interesting:

"It was agreed that a combination of case isolation, household isolation and social distancing of vulnerable groups is very unlikely to prevent critical care facilities being overwhelmed. "

"It was agreed that the addition of both general social distancing and school closures to case isolation, household isolation and social distancing of vulnerable groups would be likely to control the epidemic when kept in place for a long period. SPI-M-O agreed that
this strategy should be followed as soon as practical, at least in the first instance.

It was agreed that a policy of alternating between periods of more and less strict social distancing measures could plausibly be effective at keeping the number of critical care cases within capacity. These would need to be in place for at least most of a year. Under such as policy, at least half of the year would be spent under the stricter social distancing measures"

(Emphasis mine, from SPI-M-O: "Consensus view on behavioural and social interventions") assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/873729/06-spi-m-o-consensus-view-on-behavioural-and-social-interventions.pdf

So we have now had the school closures, I think today we will have the "general social distancing" added, whatever that means.

Angryrant55 · 20/03/2020 12:20

Beth Rigby - 'This from Monday March 16, the was day PM asked all households to stay at home if anyone ill/stop non-essential contact/shielding from this weekend of elderly and vulnerable. “Case isolation, hh isolation, social distancing is v unlikely to prevent critical care being overwhelmed. Also agreed “policy of alternating between periods of more & less strict measures could be effective at keeping the number of cases within capacity. These would need to be in place for at least most of year” and perhaps set at different levels across regions/nations.'
