Think would be good to keep this thread going! Will link to the previous threads in a bit.

Gypsy yes I know what you mean with all the online stuff making you feel that way Flowers I too am hoping maybe home schooling might be a way of distraction. I too have older boys and them going for a jog is a great idea, maybe mine would do that too or a bike ride along the cycle path, could take a picnic!

i am thinking today-

As it is getting warmer could take books to the park, I saw teens kicking balls to each other today, also outdoor tennis courts are open

maybe they could also sail in a small boat /rowing

quite fancy cooking something

Radio 6 music has some good stuff on there today

No school run! Felt a sense of relief packing away the kits, cancelled any clubs and school meetings etc.

I think I could probably fill this whole thread with tales of his wicked behaviour Blush

I won’t, but some snippets. He:

  • went through a phase of jumping up at strange men. As in taking a flying leap. In the woods. And his trajectory took him direct to the bullseye.
  • got into someone else’s car
  • raided picnics. Including the same one twice. The second time, this involved him jumping off a sodding cliff to get to the beach where his victims were
  • stole food from my DHs actual fork, when we were first dating
  • ran away with a man’s walking stick
  • raided another through the fence of a novice gundog scurry, in which we were competing

He has ‘character’ Blush

Spudlet · 21/03/2020 16:13

Raided another picnic, that should say... a really posh one, with a wicker hamper and sandwiches on plates Blush

GypsyWanderer · 21/03/2020 16:19

@Bouncingbomb Kitler is THE best name for a cat 😂 Grin

GypsyWanderer · 21/03/2020 16:22

This came up in my Facebook feed yesterday

It’s daily PE lesson videos for kids.

Iremembertheelderlykoreanlady · 21/03/2020 16:26

Hi everyone

This thread is a lifesaver! I am high risk so distancing but every day I've been taking DC and the dog out to somewhere quiet for a walk

Today the sun was shining, Dc was happy, dog was happy and I felt happy

We will get through this, the country will get through this and the world will get through this

Spudlet, we used this have a pony like your dog, she was a nightmare. She was my childhood pony and we ended up keeping her for 26 years, until she died, as no other idiot would have taken her on when she was outgrown Grin

Millie2013 · 21/03/2020 17:13

I’m trying to get back into crafting...

@Millie Ddog was a rescue.... I sometimes understand why Blush

I did spend a shitload of time and money training him and he did eventually become a semi-reformed character... can’t trust him around food though, to this day. He’s a bugger. He even eats the roses off the rose bushes in summer, grazes on dandelions, has probably eaten several tonnes of horseshit in his lifetime, and even eats worm casts from the lawn. Vets are always amazed/horrified when I tell them what we gets up to!

Mrsorganmorgan · 21/03/2020 17:21

This is really funny, reminds me of my childhood - only in Wales!
I can't do links but it is Grant Tucker on Twitter

Spudlet · 21/03/2020 17:25

Lol - link here, guessing this is the one?

Mrsorganmorgan · 21/03/2020 17:30

Yes that's the link - so funny.

Thank you very much for doing that for me. It is so bloody funny. I knew people like that.

I love this thread it keeps me sort of sane.

Mrsorganmorgan · 21/03/2020 17:37

I spoke to my daughter today (I speak to her or see her at a distance every day) she is a nurse and although I am worried about her because she has asthma and she just smiles her way through all of it and tells me not to worry because "they have this"

Alsohuman · 21/03/2020 17:43

Oh Spudlet that really made me laugh. Your dog sounds amazing, I’m in love with him!

My stepdaughter is an ITU nurse and she says the same MrsOrgan, she continues to smile and be upbeat, despite her Trust decanting her into a hotel for a week of 7 hours on, 7 hours off shifts.

Mrsorganmorgan · 21/03/2020 17:49

Alsohuman I wish your ITU daughter everything good that she will experience. Where would we be without people like her.

Mine is not a front facing nurse but they are looking for volunteers and I am sure she will.

Alsohuman · 21/03/2020 17:57

I know, she’s a treasure, she’s still found time to send her “not-so-evil stepmother” a card and flowers for tomorrow. I couldn’t love her more if I’d given birth to her.

Mrsorganmorgan · 21/03/2020 18:03

My grand children are adopted siblings and I could not love them any more than I do. My granddaughter brought me a Nan card for Mothers Day today (through the window) and I could not love them more.

I completely agree with you we love them for who they are and they are such lovely people (mine are teenagers so proper people)

Alsohuman · 21/03/2020 18:19

That’s brought tears to my eyes MrsO, we’re very lucky.

Callybrid · 21/03/2020 18:30

They’re very pretty earrings Millie.

I’ve been doing lots of colouring today - anything to occupy the hands good.

Keynote1 · 21/03/2020 18:36

Ok, please give me a slap. Been doing fine but since granddaughter handed me card and flowers at door and then ran back to car, literally outside door for about a minute I have been panicking, especially as they had been to shops to buy card. No hugging or touching except to hand over flowers and washed hands straight away. Please tell me to stop being stupid and get on with cooking my dinner Smile

Alsohuman · 21/03/2020 18:37

Cook your dinner Keynote, what are you having?

Mrsorganmorgan · 21/03/2020 18:40

Alsohuman - Mine too, I adore my grand children they have changed my life for the better as I am sure your step daughter has - they are so brave.

Mrsorganmorgan · 21/03/2020 18:45

Also Gwent's Grange University Hospital to open one year early. I think the new Liverpool Hospital may do the same

shinynewapple2020 · 21/03/2020 19:22

@HouseElfy i think you would be absolutely fine to go for a walk with your mum. More benefit than risk if you are both healthy.

@Millie2013 lovely earrings

We've just had Chinese takeaway for our tea Smile
