@Beebityboo I had the pounding head from the Friday before last. Nothing would shift it. I'm still headachey. My chest is still tight despite increAsing my inhalers and my cough is a bit more frequent today. My throat is almost back to normal though.

DesdemonaRosa · 16/03/2020 12:48

@Beebityboo

See attached for a breakdown of symptoms

Beebityboo · 16/03/2020 12:51

I know it's unlikely to be Covid but I have never felt this weird sensation in my chest before. Never had a chest infection or asthma or anything.
At first I thought it was just stress/anxiety but it won't shift and is worse with activity.
I suppose I won't know unless I'm really unwell which I hope not to be.

Blabbyblab · 16/03/2020 12:51

@DitheringDoris They certainly shouldn't be, I'm aghast that baby powder hasnt been limited thus far, good to know about Marvel!

SistemaAddict · 16/03/2020 12:52

Calmonthesurfacebut Porton Down are working on it I believe. It was on the news the other day. My brother lives very close by.

colouringinpro · 16/03/2020 12:54

colouringinpro · 16/03/2020 12:55

beebity same here. Hope you're ok

WhyNotMe40 · 16/03/2020 12:57

@colouringinpro sounds the same as me but I don't know either!

LarkDescending · 16/03/2020 12:59

The lurgy may have landed at Lark Towers. I started with chills and a headache yesterday, progressing to a cough, fever, & feeling tired, achy and rotten. Temp is 38.6.

WhyNotMe40 · 16/03/2020 12:59

I've had some nausea as well but often get that with headaches

malpa · 16/03/2020 13:02

@Reastie Well this is really odd. Are you able to post a screenshot of what you see when you open the link?

Attached is a picture of what I get. I'm able to move around the map, zoom in/out, click on individual cases for information, etc. I'm on a laptop; haven't tried it on a mobile (but I wouldn't have thought that would be a problem). How strange. Confused

A post going round facebook with open request to share 'I work for the NHS. I am going to try and fill in the gaps from the government’s plan for corona virus and to try & explain it:

The plan is to segregate all vulnerable people (older, ill, disabled and at risk) let’s call this group A

Anyone looking after the older, ill and at risk can be group B

The general population / generally healthy can be group C

Group C needs to go about it’s business keeping the country moving, kids at school, us at work

Group B looks after group A and avoids contact with C

Group C is allowed to contract the virus and because it’s generally healthy it can cope with it better than group A

Group A and B are almost self isolating without the virus to avoid putting strain on the NHS and reducing the risk of getting the virus and then needing the NHS

Group C (the generally healthy) go through the cycle of contracting the virus self isolating and being looked after by healthy family members, friends and the local community

Anyone who has complications gets looked after by the NHS while groups A and B are kept away The NHS are not strained by A and B while its looking after complicated cases in C

As group C comes full circle and recovers it divides in to groups that take group B’s position looking after group A allowing group B to go though the cycle

With B and C though the cycle, A is free to have NHS to itself because B and C are now clear from illness and infection and hopefully have a degree of immunity from getting it again this season.

Hope this helps those that are worried or not sure of the plan

Everyone has a job to do for the above to work.'

A Japanese man who appeared to have recovered from coronavirus tested positive again less than three weeks after he left a medical facility where he was being treated, writes Kate Ng.

Number12 · 16/03/2020 13:07

I wish their was a map that mn could update our locations (obviously not address specific) so we could gauge where the virus is likely to be. At least then we could get real time feel of how and where it is spreading.

My dh Is very much in the 'lets follow government advice' camp and im in the 'fuck that' camp its causing friction.

Angryrant55 · 16/03/2020 13:08

+278 cases and +4 deaths in the netherlands.

Blueberryham · 16/03/2020 13:10

Angry rant, that idea with group A B C I wonder what is supposed to happen if a mother has an at risk condition - diabetes or asthma for instance. Do her children and husband become isolated too? Or should she be indefinitely isolated from her family?

Sammy867 · 16/03/2020 13:11

What I would like to know is what is Germany doing different to everyone else when it comes to treatment?
Looking at the proportion of deaths and critical cases around the world on the worldometer and everyone is around the same but Germany has over 6,000 cases but only 13 deaths and 2 critical. These numbers are very low for the amount of cases and they are a clear outlier so does this mean most people are only getting a mild form there, or they’re treating it in a different way?

Blueberryham · 16/03/2020 13:12

Good question sammy

Derbygerbil · 16/03/2020 13:14

@Angryrant55

It’ll be interesting to see if this plan survives the next week or so!

SubjectMatterExpert · 16/03/2020 13:17

@Angryrant55 not a bad plan. In theory

Except it’s impossible to separate any of the groups out. I am group C and B. In that, I have to work (in an organisation of 10,000 people) but I also need to look after a number of group As. One of my group As HAS to continue to work or they couldn’t afford rent etc. 2 more of my group As think the whole thing is nonsense and won’t stay home) AND I have 2 kids in 2 different schools ( so in contact with another 2,000).

Not forgetting that the job that many group Cs DO, is looking after group As

The ‘plan’ is entirely academic and impossible to execute

PoisoningPigeons · 16/03/2020 13:18

I want to know how Group C are supposed to know they've had COVID and are therefore ready to fulfil their roles in relieving Group B and getting back into society when we're not going to be testing them.

Sunny360 · 16/03/2020 13:18

Dr John Campbell suggested on his latest youtube video that there may be lower reported deaths in Germany because of the way they are categorising deaths. So some may be reported as dying of other conditions but just with covid-19 as opposed to covid-19 being the cause of death. Unsure if that’s accurate or not though.

anonacfr · 16/03/2020 13:18

@Mandate all that is known officially is that Macron is announcing new measures tonight at 8 with a televised address.
Sources in home office are suggesting 48 hours til lockdown which would take effect Wednesday

Measures would be same as Italy.
It seems that half of France was outside picnicking in public places this weekend, as it was the first sunny weekend in a while!
My parents live close to the Invalides and were saying it was the same again today.

I guess they find themselves having to enforce tougher measures... the army will be involved it seems.

Quartz2208 · 16/03/2020 13:19

Someone on a thread posted an analysis of who had it in Germany and it showed that was hitting the under 60s so lots of mild/moderate cases. As yet they had managed for it not to hit the over 70s.

Italy had it hitting the over 70s early on and hard
