I'll reiterate. Lighthearted. Assuming medicines don't count (you have an unlimited amount and they've invented a way to administer medical need virtually)

I've only got half a bottle of wine left so that's shit. Maybe a small amount of vodka in the freezer.

We always have tons of pasta but there's little to have with it. Oh! Frozen spinach. That'd help a bit. Dd is parky so she would complain until eventually caving and eating the weird pasta spinach concontion.

We would run out of deodorant within 5 days so there will be lots of showers.

My four year old hasn’t stopped waffling for two days straight now so probably about five minutes.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 15/03/2020 17:37

My folks have a cracking tin cupboard (they do stock rotation and all sorts) so maybe I'd use the 30mins to ransack their home.

I've planned for 6 weeks, but DH would run out of beer and start on my gin and wine. Luckily I don't drink much although I may start!

NanSlayer · 15/03/2020 17:38

4/6 months of living completely normally so parent have no need to stress. I have been slowly prepping since October 18th 2019 the writing has been on the wall since then, but no one cared back in October.

I have an two elderly parents one with chest issues to consider, and I'm double serious about keeping them both alive and mentally happy :)

Even have some new puzzles and board games to play with Mum.

aroundtheworldyet · 15/03/2020 17:38

I don’t have a big freezer. Just a top of the fridge one 😭

LaurieFairyCake · 15/03/2020 17:39

We'd stop being able to shite about the time the food ran out .....

(3 weeks)

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 15/03/2020 17:39

Maybe we could do a kiddie swap shop? Club together with 10 other MN families in your area and each do a 10 hour shift in your home with all the kids. Stressful, but then nine days in a row childfree.

Around 6 weeks. One of the positives of being an Autism-friendly household is that 3 out of 4 living here would be delighted to self-isolate. 6 weeks of not having to deal with other humans? Bliss!

defthand · 15/03/2020 17:39

Three months. I stocked up 6 weeks ago.

Neome · 15/03/2020 17:40

Ice cream run would be no. 1 priority.

aroundtheworldyet · 15/03/2020 17:41

I’ve got half a toilet roll. I guess I’ll just have to jump in the shower more often Shock

PrincessHoneysuckle · 15/03/2020 17:41

About 3 weeks

ParkheadParadise · 15/03/2020 17:43

I've got plenty of alcohol and Diet Coke.
Probably enough food to last 7days.

BUT I have a sweetie and biscuit cupboard that I always keep fully stocked.

Namethecat · 15/03/2020 17:46

Freezer not too bad, we even have some M&S Christmas goodies still in there !
Pasta ok , rice a few meals worth . Tins, packets etc ok. So in a reality could last a week or so but like you deodorant, shampoo might be a twice a week great !

PenguinsOnParade · 15/03/2020 17:52

We could comfortably do two weeks with no effort. If we rationed and if I made bread (I have a few types of flour in the cupboard so could manage a few normal loaves and probably some different flatbreads etc) then we could go much longer. I have wraps and two loaves of bread in the freezer too.

We'd possibly end up with some meals of bread and broth or plain rice by the end but it's doable. I probably have enough porridge oats to do a week alone if I made it with water and runny, more like gruel tbh (not stockpiled, I just like porridge so always have loads.) We'd run out of milk before anything else so would have to dash to the local shop to grab that or even some Coffee Mate to keep us going.

Toiletry wise then we would run out of deodorant quickly but we have so many shower gels, people buy them for me and DC every Christmas, that we'd be fine washing. We have liquid soap and a few random bar soaps from gifts as well so we definitely wouldn't smell for a while.

I haven't stockpiled anything but just always have a decent selection in the cupboard as I never meal plan and just see what we have.

Mammyloveswine · 15/03/2020 17:52

About 2weeks I think... got a couple of bottles of wine in and some gin but presuming my food shop comes on weds that will last me another 2 weeks.. another week/maybe 2 surviving on rice if needs be...

EthelMayFergus · 15/03/2020 17:53

About two or three days. I'm a shit 'prepper' because I hate all forms of shopping. I have a delivery arriving from Tesco on Tuesday, would that still be allowed? Otherwise we're knackered.

aroundtheworldyet · 15/03/2020 17:54

Porridge everyone is going to be living on porridge!

PeterPanGoesWrong · 15/03/2020 17:56

The wine isn’t an issue, although I’d be intrigued to know who cleared my wine fridge and my wine rack! (Ones red, ones white) I’ll survive on the spirits I have in, for a while. I still have beers, cocktails from Christmas.
Got enough food etc for at least 3 months, could maybe stretch to 5/6 months. Probably run out of loo roll within a few weeks, cat food to last at least 2 months but lots of tins of sardines and mackerel etc in the pantry too.
I wouldn’t consider deodorant to be essential if I was trapped at home.

TotesAwks · 15/03/2020 17:58

Less than a weeks worth of food here. I've only got one bottle of wine so I won't last very long at all!

Rollypollyrosie · 15/03/2020 17:58

I’m a natural food hoarder anyway. Always have far more than I need, just in case (blame anxiety for that) so could really do with being forced to eat up all the stuff bulging out of my kitchen cupboards. Me and DH could last for months, the DCs might last about a week on food they wouldn’t turn their nose up at (picky little buggers). I haven’t got many teabags though so don’t know how long I’d survive without a cuppa, but I do have a bulging cupboard of various herbal teas that never get used so I suppose I’d have to adjust. Only got half a bottle of wine, I’m trying to drink less so a bit of forced sobriety wouldn’t go amiss. Failing that, how many bottles of booze do you reckon one could grab within 30 mins?

CanICelebrate · 15/03/2020 17:59

4 - 5 weeks I think apart from prescription medicine for me and youngest dc. Hoping to get some tomorrow as we only have 2-3 weeks worth Sad

Catapillarsruletheworld · 15/03/2020 18:00

Two weeks max, but we’d be eating a pretty strange diet by then and probably using odd sick for toilet roll.

lovelyupnorth · 15/03/2020 18:00

Food about 35 minutes.

Alcohol about 6 months.

Catapillarsruletheworld · 15/03/2020 18:00

Socks! Bloody socks not sick!
