Yeah that's why I usually go to the hairdresser as I found even before I went blonde that the grey roots didn't really take the box dye. Hopefully it'll disguise it for a week or so at least.

Well, the job I was hoping to come through didn't, but the kids have watched their hour of Clan and I have done a tiny bit of exercise!!!! The weather is nice so I did a bit of PE with Joe on the patio. Had to stop though for a work video call. Still, might try to do that every day even if only for 20 mins. Very very unfit though....

elQuintoConyo · 23/03/2020 11:50

We did PE with Joe - fantastic! I had to do the easier ones though as although I'm a swimmer, I'm not one for jumping arund type exercise - terrible pelvic foor. Tomorrow, DS and I will don our PE kit and trainers and I shall seek out my sports bra - this morning was rather painful!

But we feel much better for it and it was a nice community thing to do live.

DS' hoework has come in and it's alot of 'do this then send photos, do that then send photos...' lots of photo proof wanted, for some reason. So, I have spent the morning sweepimg, mopping and dusting, and I shall tidy after lunch. I'm rather resentful of this. We have a hairy dog and although we all couldn't give two shits for a bit of fur floating across the floor, I really don't want the 40+ people on the school whatsapp seeing how we live. Plus our furniture looks shit as we still have pcitures and things to hang up, and an aparador from IKEA to assemble that's been in a box for a YEAR! Angry

I need to scream into a pillow, feeling very frustrated. Trying to get DS to write a page of a diary for school, it's like pulling teeth: whinging, dropping pens, tutting, huffing and puffing. Tough shit, mate. Hence I left him to it to clean.

On a lighter note....

No, I've got nothing!
Peace and love everyone.

Thunderstorm here, the weather matches the mood.

I went to Mercadona for the first time since Wednesday last, what a difference. Everything was completely stocked as before, more so, but the police were outside, hand sanitiser on entry and gloves. Announcements the whole time to keep your distance.

A different atmosphere altogether.

Today, I feel quite frightened. On a plus note DD's classes are going well, started at 9am prompt and the teachers seem to be doing a good job.

So, pleased she has something to do. My flat is an absolute tip and I should do something about it, but I honestly can't be bothered.

Hope everyone is well. Flowers

BirdandSparrow · 23/03/2020 17:00

I've felt much better today, that bit of exercise and having an online chat with colleagues. DD (9) seems to be really struggling though. She's been really stroppy the last few days and had a MAHOOSIVE tantrum over what was really really easy schoolwork just now.

BillieEilish · 23/03/2020 18:32

Looks like the UK might go into lockdown finally, we'll see...

Novia · 23/03/2020 19:31

I struggled with the kids today, they bickered all day and the 4 year old was an enormous pain in the butt. It wasn't even like they weren't occupied, we did the hour of lessons on TV this morning, an online kids party, kids Zumba and cosmic yoga. I think they are just as fed up being the house as we are. Pouring rain didn't help.

Planning to do the big shop on Wednesday, it'll be the first time I've been outside in over a week. I need hay for the piggies, so it can't wait!

How are you guys doing? Wonder what BJ will say later, he's certainly milking it. He thinks he's Churchill...! 🤦🏼‍♀️ Hopefully he has finally started listening to some experts.

Nameisthegame · 23/03/2020 19:32

Good parts of the day, made a brownies and had a balloon party to celebrate one week done. 😊

Anyone else waiting to see if the uk if the hK is announcing a lockdown? Bj is speaking tonight

OP posts:
Nameisthegame · 23/03/2020 20:41

Bj bumbled through telling them they’re going to be locked down. I’m use the hours exercise will be abused.

Novia · 23/03/2020 20:58

Is people can still go to the park and beaches it doesn't sound like a lockdown to me...

Nameisthegame · 23/03/2020 21:14

The police will be too busy they will have to take away the hours exercise because of abuse.

OP posts:
BirdandSparrow · 23/03/2020 21:45

They'll all take the piss with the exercise thing.

Bad day here. DD has been stroppy for a day or two, and she massively lost her shit today, ended up totally hysterical. Think we're going to have a really gentle low key day tomorrow.

Someone tested positive at DH's work (call centre) so they are ramping up the WFH thing, but doing it in a totally cakchanded arse over tit way, so we don't know how it will work.

Dh's elderly aunt died today (not CV), it's his mum's sister, but she won't be able to go to the funeral.

Still no work in for me.

Nameisthegame · 23/03/2020 21:55

That sounds like a dreadful day! Definitely tlc for everyone tomorrow. Dd was pretending to be a frog today and split her lip all her toys are crying and sick which worries me.

Good things that happened today in Mallorca:
It was sunny
I got the Wii out, it's not been used for maybe 5 years, but it still knew the date, and had the scores on Just Dance 2! So I've been dancing round the lounge and feel better for it
I made ( packet) creme caramels
DH went shopping in the car and spent loads, a week's worth, including wine, beer, cake and marmalade.
I downloaded a lot of Desert Island Discs to listen to when I want to avoid the news

We should have flown home today originally. Next booked flight is 9 April, but it won't fly, and now they have lockdown I'd rather be here. Dominic Raab's comments about all British abroad should get back now upset me. There's been no way to get back, everything we tried to book got cancelled. But really, we are happy staying here. We don't have WiFi so that's restrictive and I'm cautious about over using our 4G.
Other residents in the block are jogging round the pool ( there's only maybe 5 flats occupied, so it's very quiet). I daren't but dh said he might tomorrow. He's missing running, Just Dance really isn't his thing!
I've been down in the lift then walked up. 7 floors, I was exhausted by floor 5!

Despite the long days I still run out of time to do everything I want to ( in between reading and snoozing!)

amigababy · 23/03/2020 23:55

And I'm envious of the council gardeners and workers who were out mowing grass etc today, at least they can carry on and be outdoors.

BirdandSparrow · 24/03/2020 08:51

I said that yesterday to Dh about the council street sweepers (we live in a village so it's not like sweeping a city), felt really jealous of them doing something active in the open air!

BirdandSparrow · 24/03/2020 08:53

A few British people started sending me nervous messages asking about lockdown, a bit before BJ's announcement last night. Looks like shit just got real for them. I think the exercise clause will turn out to be a mistake though and it sounds like half the country thinks they are essential workers. It's hard here but I'm glad of the clarity.

Nameisthegame · 24/03/2020 10:59

@amigababy maybe you could order a dongle for the Internet but sounds like your pretty sorted! Yeah it’s amazing how you can fill your days I don’t seem to be able to have enough time and everything seems to take longer it’s crazy. This would be such a different situation without my kid she definitely makes it harder. Still love her to bits but I would probably be a bit more depressed.

Nameisthegame · 24/03/2020 11:00

@amigababy I saw some council workers yesterday and I was pretty jealous of them too!

OP posts:
Nameisthegame · 24/03/2020 11:03

@BirdandSparrow yeah the British people Know have come out of wood work most of them didn’t give a flying f about me being in lockdown.

And people stayed at home
And read books
and listened
And rested
and exercised
And made art and played
And learned new ways of being
And stopped
And listened more deeply
Someone meditated
Someone prayed
Someone found their own shadow
And the people began to think differently
And people were healed
And in the absence of people living ignorantly
Dangerous Nonsense and heartless
They included the earth began to heal
And when the danger ended
And people found themselves again
They wept for the dead
And they made new decisions
And they dreamed new visions
And they created new forms of life And they healed the earth completely As they were healed.

Really rough translation from google but a real eye opener of a poem

OP posts:
amigababy · 24/03/2020 11:48

@Nameisthegame that poem is amazing, it describes it so well, thank you for sharing.

DD was due to get a rescue cat today, but can't go fetch it now. She is desperate for companionship so it's sad. It's in a foster home and will wait for her though.
I also wish I had a pet. I have started talking to the robot vacuum cleaner!

BirdandSparrow · 24/03/2020 12:43

I've seen that poem doing the rounds. I'm really interested in it being written in Spanish by someone called K O'Mara though...does anyone know anything about it?

We are having a "gentle" day today after DD's hsyterical meltdown yesterday. Stayed in pjs until midday. We watched the Clan educational stuff and it was MUCH better today (social sciences).

Just done a basic gymkana with them in the house. I wrote a load of questions for them (different ones for each child) and they had to find the answer : how many oranges are there in the kitchen? Find a photo of you in black and white where you're wearing a hat, where in the house is it? How many cars can you see if you look out of the window? Count them. They really liked it so I'm going to alter the questions and do it again tomorrow if they want to.

The prize for finishing was some sweets we had in the cupboard from CostCo a while ago.

Nameisthegame · 24/03/2020 12:59

Annoyed there’s people breaking lockdown because it’s a beautiful sunny day. Pretty pissed off because I’m stuck inside with a toddler and they are out there drinking beer on the basketball court.
