I'm going to give our inhaler spacers a wash. Ds takes them apart and I can never find one. It is amazing the difference a spacer makes. I can't remember the percentage but if not using a spacer there's very little drug that gets into your lungs. I used to be the respiratory lead at my practice but my brain has gone to mush in the five years since
However, my advice to all asthmatics is to ensure you take your preventer as prescribed and always carry your reliever d everywhere you go. Rinse out your mouth or gargle after using the preventer to prevent sore throats and oral thrush. Make sure you have as asthma plan and follow it. It might be worth asking your GP for a rescue pack of steroids and antibiotics should you need them. I did this as standard with my patients but had to ask my own GP for some.
