Nr out of loo roll. Weekly shop today. Aldi, tesco asda x2 and sainsburys had none I mean not even the cheap stuff or fancy patternwd type ones.

Luckily wilko had some.

Couldn't even get pasta, prob have to just get in costco not to bulk panic buy but in hope they have some. I just don't get it there as storage here is crap.

Infant formula, ds can only tolerate one. I norm buy 4 at a time. Struggled to get that even

Now I knew about the handwash etc and always have that anyway.
Tesco cleaning aisle was also bare except the likes of oven cleaner, polish.. Everything antibac or likewise was gone!

I just want to shop normally.

If it's possible go to the shops on way to work/after school drop off as thats when there's plenty of availability. Stock seems to be decimated after lunch time so there's not much left after work.

hoxtonbabe · 13/03/2020 05:08

It’s madness. The corner shops seem to have but I don’t want to buy lots of 2-4 roll packs as that will work out expensive. Costco have said they get stock daily but finished by midday so I’m going to get a little pack to last over the weekend then Costco on Monday as I dread to think how crazy it will be over the weekend. I never buy it from Costco as I have no where to store it but I can’t keep up with this daily merry go round looking for some when I run out.

Bathroom12345 · 13/03/2020 10:21

Even if you don’t have anywhere to store it there will be somewhere. It will look messy but I think at present that people are wanting to carry on exactly as before. Hence the selfish twats coughing in supermarkets and putting their loyalty cards in their MOUTHS and then handing them over. Licking your fingers to separate your precious cash and then handing over is gross and unbelievable selfish and completely self absorbed. The poor assistant wanted to say something to the selfish bitch who did this earlier but from her face knew she would be told off by management

Australian. People are going insane. Our family hasn't had toilet paper for over a week and we've had to buy tissues and now they've put a rule on that, one packet per person. One pack goes so quickly when it's used by a whole family. There's lines of people outside the supermarkets before they even open. And now they are saying do not flush anything down the toilet but human waste and toilet paper. What the hell are we supposed to do when people are going crazy.

LouMumsnet · 13/03/2020 10:38

We've moved this to the Coronavirus topic now. Flowers

FredaFrogspawn · 13/03/2020 10:47

Lidl this morning was bonkers. Lots of people buying insane amounts of stuff. One guy had 20 bunches of bananas. I asked him why he had so much (in a friendly way) and he said for his corner shop!

MegaClutterSlut · 13/03/2020 10:52

I've just got back from asda and it was busy like it is at Christmas. There were people buying crates and crates of tins. Loads of bare shelves too. If I wasn't worried before, I bloody am now

OhLook · 13/03/2020 12:15

My Tesco is pretty bare, but the co-op seems to have everything still. I bought Toilet paper and pasta there today (because I need them, not hoarding). I also saw plenty of soap.

HeresMe · 13/03/2020 19:12

A Friday night and supermarkets busy who would have thought.

Iwalkinmyclothing · 14/03/2020 08:23

Little tesco near me had no loo roll. It was almost funny. They weren't low on anything else, but the cheap wine shelves (my spiritual home) were patchy. Then again it was Friday night, the cheap wine shelves usually do get quite patchy at that point!

timetest · 14/03/2020 12:44

Went to a local Aldi today. It was my first visit to an Aldi and it was a revelation. Loads of loo roll and plenty of pasta. The speedy checkout was a bit disconcerting, I hadn’t known about the separate area to bag your stuff.

sleepingpup · 14/03/2020 14:27

my local Lidl is well stocked ( well couldn't get crime fraiche ) and was almost peaceful just now.

Probably best avoid social media to find out how things are really panning out.

PepePig · 14/03/2020 14:43

I work in a shop. Stock coming in is usually 8 or 9 cages. Maybe 11 at a push.

We had 22 today.

Toilet roll went down almost as soon as we put some out. Same with painkillers.

I luckily managed to get hold of a bottle of baby nurofen (was the only thing I didn't have a spare of). It's getting a bit crazy, to be honest.

People have also started buying multiple loaves of bread. One guy today bought 4, another bought 7...

IamHyouweegobshite · 14/03/2020 14:53

My local Tesco's had no meds or loo roll. Some bread, a few bags of pasta. 5 Bounty bars left, which I was really shocked at, i made sure I left 4 for others, but love that choc, normally safe to say no one else likes it.

Luckystar777 · 14/03/2020 15:03

Went into tesco this morning, one of the stores in Glasgow city centre, no toilet roll, no handwash, no lemons, no root ginger, no potatoes :(

Can I just ask people to stop being stupid!!!! Angry

The stores should be limiting everyone to what they need to last only a week or so.

ivykaty44 · 14/03/2020 15:07

My local bread shop has many loaves and plenty of flour

ivykaty44 · 14/03/2020 15:09

£££££££ they will not put sense before profits

MacronsPensWiper · 14/03/2020 15:10

The people whose shelves aren't bare where are you!

I was shocked in our huge sainsbury!

All dry goods pretty much gone.

Nothing antibacterial, no loo rolls.
I'm m25 South East.

Purplewhitelie · 14/03/2020 15:11

I’ve bought mine on amazon a while ago. Have a look.

MacronsPensWiper · 14/03/2020 15:11

People will panic buy, supermarkets could however limit certain stocks.

Tiredoutteacher2020 · 14/03/2020 15:14

Shops are full here except for loo roll where there are a few 4 packs left in most shops.

MissPoldark · 14/03/2020 15:24

@thegcatsmother

You bought 64 toilet rolls and got offended when someone questioned you about it?
And actually thought it was justified just because you have 2 toilets?
Is this a wind up?

Connie222 · 14/03/2020 15:43

Dh popped out for some veg to the local Aldi. Shop is stripped.

This panic buying is ridiculous, had to go to 6 diff shops just to get loo roll
LesLavandes · 14/03/2020 15:54

No loo roll for days in my co-op. Apparently as soon as it arrives, it is sold

LadyEloise · 14/03/2020 16:35

In Ireland where schools, colleges and public buildings, libraries etc have closed, so probably 4 days ahead of UK shutdown and stores have been stripped of milk, fruit, veg, pasta, rice, tinned tomatoes, loo paper, pump soap, baby stuff, tissues etc
However the shelves were replenished for the following day.
