Nr out of loo roll. Weekly shop today. Aldi, tesco asda x2 and sainsburys had none I mean not even the cheap stuff or fancy patternwd type ones.

Luckily wilko had some.

Couldn't even get pasta, prob have to just get in costco not to bulk panic buy but in hope they have some. I just don't get it there as storage here is crap.

Infant formula, ds can only tolerate one. I norm buy 4 at a time. Struggled to get that even

Now I knew about the handwash etc and always have that anyway.
Tesco cleaning aisle was also bare except the likes of oven cleaner, polish.. Everything antibac or likewise was gone!

I just want to shop normally.

My Morrison’s delivery just arrived complete with loo roll, 2 x paracetamol and 2 x hand gel.

Look on the shelves of your local supermarket. Big supermarkets stock it, and people don't know about it, so it was sitting there unsold, between empty shelves of own-brand tablets and empty shelves of six-plus calpol. Grin

Pothole

Thank you, I will look into that for her, she won't even entertain a tablet.

DS has to have the fast melts, it is the only way I can get anything anywhere near him. (ASD)

Not a single toilet roll in our Sainsbury's yesterday. Kitchen roll had almost been obliterated too. Everything else looked as normal though.

GabsAlot · 08/03/2020 13:33

lots of loo roll on our tesco pasta was getting low only bought one of each

GabsAlot · 08/03/2020 13:39

Cathy none left in the coun try are you serious?

bellinisurge · 08/03/2020 14:01

We won't run out of bog roll. I'm a general prepper. There's a chance that steady supply of it will be patchy. But we won't run out.
And in the highly highly highly unlikely event that we do, there are alternative strategies. Not as convenient but they exist.

TabbyMumz · 08/03/2020 14:11

Been shopping this morning, lots of hand wash, paracetamol everywhere.

Itwasntme1 · 08/03/2020 14:11

Just called into very large Tesco. No paracetamol at all and no hand gel.

Limited supply of anti bad hand wash (only mr men left😊), but loads of toilet roll, and loads of people marching around with trolleys full of toilet roll😳

ultrablue · 08/03/2020 14:20

Venturing to Lidl later I've run out of Kidney beans and brown rice. No brown rice to be had anywhere local. I'm the only person I know who actually likes brown rice lol

bellinisurge · 08/03/2020 14:24

White rice stores better and for longer. Just sayin'
Also prefer brown rice.

daisychain01 · 08/03/2020 14:25

I received an email from my local foodbank about a volunteering opportunity and it re-reminded me to add a few items from my basket into the foodbank box on the way out. I know loads of people on here are already very generous, but if you can spare some items (yes, the infamous CV toilet rolls!! and other useful items in the context of Corona Virus), it will help people already struggling who may have to self-isolate.

Goatymcgoaty · 08/03/2020 14:30

No loo roll in our Sainsbury’s this morning. Not one. And a queue of customers waiting at the loading bay as there were rumours that a lorry delivery was due at 11am!!

The nice lady on the till said they’d need their security guards on the loo roll aisle when the delivery turned up. This is a naice town too Grin

Vix20678 · 08/03/2020 14:34

I couldn't even park in our (huge) Aldi car park. Whilst driving around I saw people with 2 trolley loads coming out, and others with trolleys piled high. I'm gave up and retreated to our local Co-op where it was relatively calm (although they can't keep up with the demand for hand soap).

dentydown · 08/03/2020 14:39

I’ve just had to order some commercial loo roll online. I have 9 rolls to last 8 people. Two of whom are teenagers who like to make a loo roll mitten!

missmeg3leg · 08/03/2020 15:00

Visited Sainsbury’s this morning (just for a few bits, no “in-demand” items) & it was strangely quiet?...half empty carpark, quick scout round & plenty of soap, loo roll, pasta etc, low stocks of own-brand paracetamol & ibuprofen.....seemed business as usual here in Cheshire

Bottleofcorona · 08/03/2020 15:02

No hand sanitiser, paracetamol or long life Milk at my Tesco earlier. Plenty of bog roll though

everythingisginandroses · 08/03/2020 15:18

No hand sanitiser, paracetomol or ibuprofen here (Staffordshire). Got some loo roll the other day so didn't check that today. We are ok for all of the above anyway... Too many DF readers around here.

HeronLanyon · 08/03/2020 15:30

Well central London all pretty normal at big Waitrose. Pasta bleach and loo roll were lowish but plenty still available. All other items present on pretty full shelves including hand wash bar soap various disinfectants paracetamol etc. I’m thinking shops relying more on foot traffic than car trips are probably suffering less from overbuying. I didn’t see a single sign of anyone buying silly amounts of anything.

TheReluctantCountess · 08/03/2020 15:48

It’s all normal up here in West Yorks.

Carpathian2 · 08/03/2020 15:50

I couldn't agree more

Mummyjsa · 08/03/2020 15:57

The painkiller thing has been a problem. I had an operation on Friday and can’t buy any nearby and none came with my shopping delivery as out of stock!!

picklemewalnuts · 08/03/2020 16:22

Mummyjsa, could you explain to GP over the phone and get a prescription?

SistemaAddict · 08/03/2020 16:25

Normally you are given several days supply of medication on leaving hospital. It's odd that you hadn't been supplied with any, especially after surgery.

42isthemeaning · 08/03/2020 16:44

I live in a rural area in Scotland. I went to my local medium sized Sainsbury's to see one bloke bulk buying 4 x 16 rolls of loo roll. Hmm It seems so selfish!
The liquid soap and all other loo roll were sold out.
