Then the time should be changed so that they aren’t under pressure and repeatedly failing to meet the target shouldn’t it?

The problem is though that any and every action is interpreted and over interpreted. Some people will think - yeah sensible move, others will find conspiracy theory

Nc967125 · 07/03/2020 14:26

206 with 2 deaths just published

Quartz2208 · 07/03/2020 14:26

We do make a fuss about flu it’s why all primary school children and over 60s are vaccinated. We don’t notice it because we are used to it

WaterSheep · 07/03/2020 14:26

As of 7am on 7 March 2020, 21,460 people have been tested in the UK, of which 21,254 were confirmed negative and 206 were confirmed as positive. Two patients who tested positive for COVID-19 have died.

tangledyarn · 07/03/2020 14:27

Its 20 mins late. Given the scope and awfulness of what we are dealing with its really the least of my worries.

ofwarren · 07/03/2020 14:27

206 now!
Worrying now.

Aurea · 07/03/2020 14:28

Was that up from 116?

sparkly72 · 07/03/2020 14:28

Is there a graph anywhere that shows the different countries daily increases in comparison ? I know there are variables in numbers tested etc, but would just be interested to see the trajectory of UK compared to Italy, China etc since first day of testing

Sunshinesky1981 · 07/03/2020 14:28

So what was the increase for today?

confusedandtired99 · 07/03/2020 14:29

Also if I am honest this is the only place I can vent... it seems the vast majority of people I know are sharing pointless memes with incorrect information on Facebook, and repeatedly bashing or scorning people who would like to be prepared in case because ‘it’s just the flu.’

Newjez · 07/03/2020 14:29

Nicola Zingaretti, the leader of Italy’s Democratic party, one of the national ruling parties, has tested positive for coronavirus.

As political figures get taken out by this virus, we will enter a whole new ball game. Pence takes over from trump. That is a truely scary prospect. Who takes over from Boris? Please god don't let it be Priti. She'll set up Corona concentration camps.

LambriniSocialist · 07/03/2020 14:30

Then the time should be changed so that they aren’t under pressure and repeatedly failing to meet the target shouldn’t it?

Why on earth does it matter if they don't 'meet the target' of 2pm? Really?

Honestly, I understand people worrying about the virus itself, but to start getting upset because 'the daily numbers' are out half and hour later than expected is unhealthy territory.

confusedandtired99 · 07/03/2020 14:30

It was 163 yesterday I believe

RandomlyChosenName · 07/03/2020 14:31

I think it’s up 42? From 164 yesterday

WhoWants2Know · 07/03/2020 14:31

So +43

nellodee · 07/03/2020 14:31

sparkly72, if you look on wikipedia (usual warnings apply to reliability) they have a cases by day for lots of different countries.

WaterSheep · 07/03/2020 14:31

So what was the increase for today?

I believe yesterday was 164, so another 42 confirmed cases.

Sunshinesky1981 · 07/03/2020 14:32

So another 43 today Sad

georgeggg · 07/03/2020 14:32

164 yesterday and now 206 gone up by 42

FurForksSake · 07/03/2020 14:32

It was 163 for the UK yesterday so an extra 43 today. A 25% increase I think? It was a 30% increase yesterday so not horrendous. Probably be 250 tomorrow and if it is less we will see that containment is working on some level? I imagine tomorrows might be lower though as they will be todays numbers and therefore delayed a bit by the weekend?

Cheeseismylife · 07/03/2020 14:33

Can someone remind me where the detailed location breakdown is please?

confusedandtired99 · 07/03/2020 14:33

No it really isn’t @LambriniSocialist

It looks unprofessional and doesn’t inspire confidence. I couldn’t run my business that way without loosing faith.

They don’t say they aim to publish at 2pm - they say:

‘The Department of Health and Social Care publishes updated data on this page every day at 2pm.‘

justonecottonpickingminute · 07/03/2020 14:34

Wed = 85 - Thurs = 115 - Fri = 163 - Sat = 206

LarkDescending · 07/03/2020 14:34

It was 163 this time yesterday, but 164 by the end of yesterday (the extra 1 coming from Northern Ireland).
