Earlier in the thread you mentioned some specific advise five rounds new yorkers. Eg if you've been within 6 ft of a suspected case, self isolate

We really needed that level of detail and clarity here.

You are free to ignore my comments, but am not sure why you need to tell everyone you are ignoring me. Just scroll on...
I see now the reason for your dismissive response: you are annoyed that China has been praised for its actions. China’s reaction has been incredible, but this does negate some of the awful things that happen there. I have travelled a lot within China, including Tibet and Xinjiang province, and am aware of the brutal side of this regime.
The supreme irony is, of course, that the control China has over the country means that measures to control the outbreak have been effective.

I've only posted a bit, mostly reading and digesting the information. I remember shanghai from the university threads(waves) and believe they are giving their opinion just as the rest of us are doing. Her experiences are different to my own and I value her insights.
Ds1 comes home from London on Wednesday for Easter. I will be very happy to have him home but am already thinking ahead to when the university goes back.

Legal penalties.
What are the incentives or punitive measures for those who may have been exposed but keep going... Eg Jim the car mechanic works on Mrs Jones car. Gives car back, a day later Mrs Jones comes down with covid. Jim isn't worried, he caries on because he doesn't want to loose his job or not pay bills.
He has touched everything in the car he does have it he doesn't know he has it and he carries on spreading it himself to new customers and colleagues. Until he gets ill.

Agreed. They've had the figures since 9am this morning. They decided the 2pm release schedule, so not releasing them at 2pm is very frustrating.

Are the emergency new hospitals built in China being utilised? Are they full of patients? Or not?

That's not how I interpret "correct as of 9am". Rather that the cut-off for reporting cases is 9am, but it takes longer than that to collate and check the data.

The 9am thing means that if someone is diagnosed at 9:01am today, they go into tomorrow's stats. Not that all the figures are done and dusted at 9am.
