Every major newspaper and the BBC have had stories from people who have had the virus. Superspreader Steve gave an interview. The Abels are literally FB living having the disease. I’m not sure why people think there aren’t ‘survival’ stories out there. They’re everywhere.

screamer1 · 04/03/2020 23:45

So what's your theory @Wehttam ?

ChipotleBlessing · 04/03/2020 23:46

The CCP have had loads of cured people propaganda videos. There’s that nice one of the nurse who looked after herself at home and went back to work and thinks everyone can use their immune system to fight it. They even did that one with English subtitles.

Wehttam · 04/03/2020 23:48

I’m not sure screamer the naive me hopes they’re all camera shy

Sassenach85 · 04/03/2020 23:50

Can anyone link in some of these stories then? I did ask earlier but it was only the latest one that came up. Thanks to everyone here btw I know we don’t all agree but it’s good to have a place to talk

mymigraine · 04/03/2020 23:50

screamer1 it goes straight to the lungs and attaches in there. mild pneumonia maybe.

mymigraine · 04/03/2020 23:52

asymptomatic lung of ten year old showed infection. I thought that was weird.

Baileysandcream · 04/03/2020 23:57

@Sassenach85

Here's one from the BBC news health pages

www.bbc.co.uk/news/av/world-asia-51714162/how-i-recovered-from-coronavirus-and-isolation

Dusty01 · 04/03/2020 23:57

Wettham pneumonia and brain infection leading to respiratory and other organ failure. I would have thought you knew that.

Brain infection! Where did you get that from mymigraine?

ChipotleBlessing · 04/03/2020 23:58

Google coronavirus survivor stories. It brings up loads.

Comefromaway · 05/03/2020 00:00

I'm due at the Royal Albert Hall for a large-scale schools' Gala on Sunday.
As things stand currently, it's going ahead. Would you be happy?

I’ve had an email today cancelling a schools music workshop & Performance Ds was due to attend in Manchester on Sunday.

Thank you Smile

Dusty01 · 05/03/2020 00:04

Oh God - mymigraine - that sounds awful.

DD has some brain damage - from birth - I hope she is not more vulnerable to this.

Wehttam · 05/03/2020 00:05

Curious. all the ‘mild’ cases no doubt.

mymigraine · 05/03/2020 00:12

it shouldn't usually get to that stage

Awkward1 · 05/03/2020 00:21

Yes I think more advertising at the start that 20% would need ventilation - might have been enough to make people protest that China didn't close borders. As which country has bed s for that many?
And still the planes fly taking it everywhere. Most with no temp checks etc.

If they had calle d it SAR s to start with it may have made a difference too.
People clinging to the % death rate well I suspect it will be much worse as that is for when it is not the whole country/world at once...
What are the figures assuming no treatment?

GPwife2411 · 05/03/2020 00:30

@Dusty01 - I just read the full article through and definitely don't think that a history of perinatal hypoxia should increase your DD's risk, particularly if she is still young?

Wehttam · 05/03/2020 00:32

Awkward I think if the populace knew what was possible for the 20% we would see a national outcry for the doors to be nailed shut for the foreseeable future.

A lot of emphasis on the mild cases and the 1% death rate makes difficult but palatable reading, when you see 20% you then think hang on a minute....

mymigraine · 05/03/2020 00:35

GPwife21 what do you think the risk might be to asthmatic children ? My dd has overreactive hacking cough to minor colds

PatriciaBateman · 05/03/2020 00:39

Not sure if anyone posted it already, but just found a really interesting AMA on Reddit (team of medical experts discussing coronavirus).

www.reddit.com/r/Coronavirus/comments/fdf5fq/we_are_a_team_of_medical_experts_following/

GPwife2411 · 05/03/2020 00:47

@mymigraine - I think having a lower threshold for seeking medical advice and assessment (if necessary) would be a sensible and cautious approach with your DD, as would staying well supplied with her usual medications and using her preventer inhaler optimally. However, research seems (crosses fingers) to be show that children are doing well, and that will include come with comorbidities. Age + comorbidity appears riskiest in CV based on current data (my 11-year-old DD is type 1 diabetic so I have been watching research closely).
