Conflict in the Middle East

Is the green party starting to regret it's association with Islamists?

mids2019 · 03/10/2026 10:32

The green party, ostensibly about climate protection and general progressive values seems to have gotten into bed with Islamist sympathisers and the amount of anti semitism and basic hatred of their own country is now obvious.

The green party now at least locally are known as a party that has sympathies towards all manner of Islamist causes including Hamas's objective to wipe Israel of the face of the Earth.

Wouldn't be surprised if they produce a motion declaring climate change a Jewish conspiracy........

If you don't believe the Islamic extremists groups like the Muslim Brotherhood have been behind the Green takeover or that certain members are not Islamic electoral reformists then please let me sell you a Pyramid. They always start their political take over in the same manner so patterns are easy to spot. This is the stuff middle Eastern countries leadership and Iranian people have repeatedly warned the UK about. They have told us that the Muslim Brotherhood and other organisations need to be banned and kicked out but apparently we know better.

Because we, the British, pride ourselves on our modern outlook, our inclusivity and open-mindedness. This is partly a reasonable and appropriate backlash against colonialism and slavery. What we have not developed as a nation are good boundaries. And I don't mean physical boundaries. We have backtracked so severely on the racist and Christiano-centric attitudes of 100y ago that we are now falling over on our backsides with trying to be entirely accepting of everyone. We are so busy respecting immigrant cultures that we do not require integration into British culture - we are more keen to provide interpreters than English lessons.

So many Muslims came to England in search of a better life, one of religious moderation and mutual respect. Yet we ignore their warnings about the very same Muslim fundamentalists that many came to England to escape. Such arrogance. "We're different. We know better. We're not like those countries." Rather like the British Imperialist arrogance, not much has changed there.

6% of the UK population is Muslim. Should they have a political party that represents their religious identity over their citizenship? I have no issues with any group lobbying MPs or asking government to take their specific interests into consideration. I have a BIG issue with a political party that represents a faith group, any faith group. Because government of a pluralistic society functions far better and represents its population better when religion is entirely separate to law. Once a political party represents a religious group it becomes more and more extreme in its views and its demands. You see this all over the world.

Well said.

I don't know much about the complicated history of Israel or Palestine. I just think a complex geopolitical war on a different continent shouldn't occupy so much headspace in a western country. It should occupy about the same space as other awful conflicts in Sudan, Yemen etc.

The fact that it is so front and centre shows that as a country we've already been infiltrated by extremist elements.

So are you saying the terrorist Irgun was not murdering Palestinians and British soldiers from 1931.

The earliest reports of Irgun retaliation is from about 1937. Regardless, the Irgun fought back against Arab terrorism.

Looks to me that the derailer on this thread is rewriting history to suit themselves, rather like they respond to posts as if the post said what they wanted it to say and not according to what the posts have actually said.

There’s a word for this. Two words, actually.

Gaslighting.
Dishonesty.

One thing is that the Islamo left demanding the erasure of the state of Israel is not going to disappear in the UK. The gesture politics of Labour with Milliband's 'you were right about Gaza' rant isn't going to attract those Muslim voters back to them as many want not just some approbation of Israel but it's erasure and they get the whole shebang with the Greens now (or independents). If I was Iran and had money to influence other country's politics how would I do it. Persuade a group of Islmaists to joking small western party to fundamentally become anti Israel perhaps??

You can call placing bombs in civilian market places retaliation if you like but most people would call it terrorism. It's a bit like saying that killing Hind Rajab and the fifteen emergency responders buried in the sand with their vehicles was self defense.

I think I might start by putting people into influential positions. Perhaps I would gain sympathy with idealistic but naive students (Cambridge was well known as a recruiting ground).

Hopefully they would go out into the world of work to spread the influence. Teaching is a good place to influence young minds, the younger the better. Unions have the advantage of group power. Teaching unions are a win win.
Most people know that the civil service is the true power in Whitehall so getting in there is important too.
As long as people who support your aims aren't as complacent as ( it would seem) 60% of the electorate. There's a reason they're called activists and 'the silent majority' should be relabelled 'the passive majority'.

Irgun was a terror group, but so was the IRA. Does that call into question the existence of Ireland? Or make supporting reunification racist?

I have to agree with this, this a land dispute thats turned into some sort of grand opera for islamists and tankies.

For Jews it is absolutely existential though, zionism was a response to persecution in both europe and the arab world, now people are terrorising jews here and then will simultaneously complain about jews going to israel. Literally can’t win.

Reunification racist? If that meant Protestants and Catholics living together with equal rights, how could that be racist. On the other hand, if it means persecuting, killing and ethnically cleansing the country of all the Protestants, that would definitely be racist.

Yes, Jews in the west are in a difficult situation as they are increasingly outnumbered by Muslims. At the moment its about 20:1 in the UK.

I know not all Muslims are extremists but most seem to be pro-Palestine and anti-Israel. Also, politicians on the left are jostling each other in order to appeal to the Muslim vote. So that makes things even more difficult for Jews.

And given the fate of the Jews in the rest of the Middle East, as well as the long history of attacks on Jewish civilians by Palestinians terrorists, would it not be suicidally naive of Jews to think that a Palestinian state would necessarily mean massacres and expulsion of the remaining Jews in the region?

I mean, what is the evidence that Jews in a Muslim majority state would be given the same rights as Israeli Arabs?

Bringemout · 11/10/2026 09:07

I think it’s for the best that all the worst people gather together under the greens so I know exactly what they are, where they are and who they are. If our intelligence services have any actual intelligence I imagine every thing the greens touch, all funding links will be looked at.

I think a lot of people have no idea how the muslim brotherhood operate. The modus operandi is to embed yourself in things like local politics, charities, education settings etc. thats how they work in the middle east, they even get involved in stuff you wouldn’t expect them to, they ran a bloody choir in Kuwait LOL.

They are really fucking dangerous, there will be NGO’s and public sector groups that have ties to the muslim brotherhood. They will present little things framed as being about being inclusive which are actually designed to groom organisations. Same as the trans playbook. Wonder if the trans lot learned from muslim brotherhood about institutional hi-jack. And yes as pp pointed out because we have such poor boundaries we will accept it until it becomes the norm. the Islamaphobia thing is a good example of that, it appears the government consulted a bunch of people with dodgy links, probably ignored the public consultation and will try to push through whats basically going to turn inti a blasphemy law. I absolutely believe in punishing people for harrassing people solely for being members of a religion, any religion but this aint that.

I actually have my money in the Jews in a one state situation. I don’t know why the islamists think they would win it, they haven’t managed it so far. One thing I do know is that it would degenerate into a horrible bloody civil war. I’ve never seen any people more happy to see Palestinian blood shed than their own supporters.

Dumbasses.

Yes, we are so weak in the UK. Under the banner of inclusion and tolerance, we accept the incursions on our culture made by Islam. It's not just political infiltration either, it's things like the huge and growing halal industry, funding for Islamic schools and Islamic centres, welcoming hate preachers, making it an offence to criticise Islam by backdoor blasphemy laws, turning a blind eye to criminal activity like grooming gangs, electoral fraud, honour based violence etc, and persuading young people that Jews are the bad guys.

These are all incursions onto British culture and they should be seen for what they are and called out.

moderate · 11/10/2026 09:51

That disingenuous straw man poster is back. Surely nobody could be so ignorant of the number of Palestinian Arabs who live in Israel and speak highly of it, vs the massacre that would occur if the situation were reversed?

Yes, it's particularly important for Jews that Israel remains strong. Antisemitism is growing in the west, this time coming from the far left and from Islam, both of which are growing and are being encouraged to grow.

I hope it doesn't come to that, but with this level of hostility, it seems likely that Europe will have fewer Jews in future.

That was still an era of 'you killed some of mine, I'll kill some of yours'. Pre Geneva Convention. Unfair perhaps, but that was broadly how everyone operated.

The Irgun killed Arabs in retaliation for Jews being killed. Neither the Irgun, nor any other Jewish militia group, ever started any hostilities. They were all defensive and at times retaliatory.

I could go on about Baghdad having a 40% Jewish population comprised of prominent businessmen, doctors, lawyers and government ministers. I could go on about how the persecution of Jews in the Middle East grew directly from the creation of the state of Israel and the subsequent loss in the war. I could go on about Deir Yassin and Givet Shaul living happily as neighbours for decades but I've made these points already. What is the alternative? More endless years of apartheid and oppression of millions of people. Expulsion of an entire population making Israel into even more of an international pariah. This Israel supporting Boomer generation isn't going to last forever. There is an entire generation who currently despise Israel who are going to be the next politicians, law makers and educators. The posters on this thread are trying to make out they are all Islamists. (I get it, encourage Islamophobia in the West in an attempt to degrade sympathy for Muslim Palestinians). They are not. Muslims only make up 6% of the UK population and the vast majority of them are not Islamists. A recent poll showed that 21% of 18 to 24 year olds believe Israel doesn't have a right to even exist. No amount of "re-education" is going to change that if Israel stays on its current path. I honestly believe that, not just for the sake of Palestinians, but for the future of Israel too, Israel has to change its current treatment of the Palestinian population.

So who exactly did Folke Bernadotte attack? Which Jews did Deir Yassin attack?
