Conflict in the Middle East

Is the green party starting to regret it's association with Islamists?

The green party, ostensibly about climate protection and general progressive values seems to have gotten into bed with Islamist sympathisers and the amount of anti semitism and basic hatred of their own country is now obvious.

The green party now at least locally are known as a party that has sympathies towards all manner of Islamist causes including Hamas's objective to wipe Israel of the face of the Earth.

Wouldn't be surprised if they produce a motion declaring climate change a Jewish conspiracy........

I get how it can be interpreted to predict modern day Israel

Whether it predicts modern day Israel is irrelevant. Is your failure to understand this at the root of your miscomprehension?

I was answering someone else's post who actually made some debatable points. Could I politely ask what exactly you are trying to say here and what it is you are trying to debate?

Even if we give you the benefit of the doubt that you’re not just tediously sealioning here… if you’ve already forgotten that this conversation is about whether Israel existed long before modern Israel was created, there’s not much point in continuing to talk to you.

I think I answered that question in my response to @Emilesgran

I would expect when being accused of a straw man, a bit of clarification might be useful. My post was direct and explanatory to respond to someone else's post. If I've misunderstood your position, that wasn't my intention. Could you clarify exactly what your main point was, so I can address it directly?

I already clarified it when I first pointed it out. I’m done with the your sealioning. If you genuinely want to engage, go back and read my previous responses.

I think the only members of the Green Party who will regret its change of direction are the old-school environmentalists. I begin to believe that the Green Party has been deliberately infiltrated to become an Islamist party. The smallest mainstream party and the easiest to redirect.

I have always agreed with the GP's objectives, but have never voted for them as I felt they did not have a wide enough view on what it takes to run a country. They were too single-issue for me. I think that not having policies on wider aspects is part of what has made them so attractive to Islamist infiltration. Their single issue attracted environmentalist voters and activists. Their single issue has changed, and will now attract people who do not want to support British democracy, but to use it to change British democracy into something inherently undemocratic and contrary to British values.

Someone on this thread really doesn’t want to discuss the takeover of the Green Party by Islamists and other extremists

I wonder why?

Edited

That is very obvious. Best to just ignore them I think.

Totally agree with you here

Also referring to the posts earlier saying no Islamists involved or taking over

Islamists advocate or supporter of Islamism a political ideology that believes Islam should guide social, cultural, and political life. The Islamists that have hijacked the Green Party are known as Electorial Reformists. This is when Islamist organis ations such as the Muslim Brotherhood operate through non-violent civic participation, social services, and elections.

If you don't believe the Islamic extremists groups like the Muslim Brotherhood have been behind the Green takeover or that certain members are not Islamic electoral reformists then please let me sell you a Pyramid. They always start their political take over in the same manner so patterns are easy to spot. This is the stuff middle Eastern countries leadership and Iranian people have repeatedly warned the UK about. They have told us that the Muslim Brotherhood and other organisations need to be banned and kicked out but apparently we know better.

Yes, classic entryist tactics. I think Polanski will be pushed out as by not voting on the anti-Israel motion he has shown insufficient commitment to the new cause.

Either Mothin Ali or a stooge leader will take over. We now have an Islamist party in Britain as it's much easier to take over an already existing party than to set one up from scratch. Especially as the Greens are full of useful idiots who idolise Islam and will be its willing servants in the UK.

I think you are correct. The Islamists now have an oven ready political party.

There definitely seems to be a rather concerning pattern in the way that Islamist groups use democratic structures, local community organising and elections to gain a foothold.

It’s not only happening in the UK either. There was a state election in Berlin recently, where the hard-left Die Linke party surged in the polls after building tactical alliances with local conservative Muslim networks to secure key voting blocs.

It all ended up looking quite dodgy when a notorious local clan boss and an alleged terror supporter actually showed up to celebrate at the party's official election victory celebrations.

Yes, and because they are member-led, that gives members a lot of power. New members can take over a branch, start tabling motions that suit their agenda and if it's voted for at conference, it becomes policy.

I've seen this kind if infiltration before. Militant tried to infiltrate Labour by taking over the Women's Section, tabling motions to conference via the Women's Section.

If Islamists can get into local government through entryism I think we will see Islamist interests being promoted more and more (eg funding for Islamic schools, making all local authority catering halal, turning a blind eye to extremist preachers, giving a free pass to grooming gangs or ignoring electoral fraud, family voting etc).

Wow bet it did look dodgy indeed

So many people bang on about the Jewish or Israel lobby but when there is literally a when network of organisations rigging various elections right in front of their faces they fail to see it.

Yes it is a slippery slope that has the ability to give powers that affect the average British citizen more than I think people realise.

Also once they have control we know from elsewhere that neither socialist, communist or Islamist leaders actually believe in democracy. They either change the rules to permanently rig elections or don't hold them anymore.

Happening all over Europe. An unholy alliance between far left activists and the growing Muslim demographic. I think this is what we're seeing in the riots in France. Both elements feel alienated from society for different reasons and have forged this alliance which will do a lot of harm.

attichoarder · 10/10/2026 15:54

The Green Party has tied itself in knots, it supports causes and issues that are incompatible with each other ie pro Palestine/islam and Lbgt. The only positive about their actions is that it is so obvious to everyone what shambles they are

Yes, imagine a branch meeting where trans members rub shoulders with the Islamists.

I just hope the entryism doesn't work. I hope there's enough old-style greens to wake up to what's happening or to leave and create a new green party (the Real Greens, Provisional Greens etc).

Greens for Gaza ?
It’s got a ring to it.

pinkleavesandtea · 10/10/2026 16:12

Polanski always has been and always will be an an opportunist. He uses the same playbook as
Farage but from a far left view point! He has zero courage in his convictions and has placed Pro Palestine ideology at the top of his parties’ agenda. He saw a ‘weak’ spot in the Labour government’s on Palestine and Israel and has run with it and is slowly destroying the Green Party. I used to vote for them, but never will again.

Only they are not for Gaza, far from it. They actively campaign and call for for things that will make the situation of the gazen people worse. They are Greens for Palestine, which is a cause that destroyed the lives of the people of Gaza way before Israel flattened most of the area.

I can’t help but feeling there is often some sort of inversion that goes hand in hand with antisemitic attitudes.

Re: the hard-left party victory celebrations in Berlin and their allegedly unexpected guests:

Ferat Koçak, a Berlin lawmaker of Turkish origin for the Left Party (Die Linke), faced intense scrutiny after a prominent clan boss attended his party's election victory celebration. While Koçak initially denied having any connection to the criminal network, he was forced to step down from the federal parliament's interior committee after friendly, leaked WhatsApp and Instagram messages exposed his direct communication with the clan boss's son.

Because we, the British, pride ourselves on our modern outlook, our inclusivity and open-mindedness. This is partly a reasonable and appropriate backlash against colonialism and slavery. What we have not developed as a nation are good boundaries. And I don't mean physical boundaries. We have backtracked so severely on the racist and Christiano-centric attitudes of 100y ago that we are now falling over on our backsides with trying to be entirely accepting of everyone. We are so busy respecting immigrant cultures that we do not require integration into British culture - we are more keen to provide interpreters than English lessons.

So many Muslims came to England in search of a better life, one of religious moderation and mutual respect. Yet we ignore their warnings about the very same Muslim fundamentalists that many came to England to escape. Such arrogance. "We're different. We know better. We're not like those countries." Rather like the British Imperialist arrogance, not much has changed there.

6% of the UK population is Muslim. Should they have a political party that represents their religious identity over their citizenship? I have no issues with any group lobbying MPs or asking government to take their specific interests into consideration. I have a BIG issue with a political party that represents a faith group, any faith group. Because government of a pluralistic society functions far better and represents its population better when religion is entirely separate to law. Once a political party represents a religious group it becomes more and more extreme in its views and its demands. You see this all over the world.
