Conflict in the Middle East

Is the green party starting to regret it's association with Islamists?

The green party, ostensibly about climate protection and general progressive values seems to have gotten into bed with Islamist sympathisers and the amount of anti semitism and basic hatred of their own country is now obvious.

The green party now at least locally are known as a party that has sympathies towards all manner of Islamist causes including Hamas's objective to wipe Israel of the face of the Earth.

Wouldn't be surprised if they produce a motion declaring climate change a Jewish conspiracy........

Time for Pauldon to go.
He’s not even an MP.
He should step back and watch the Greens disintegrate.

It’s been infiltrated by a sinister group with their own non Green agenda

Well if he was able to predict the existence of a country hundreds of years before it came into existence that would be worth taking seriously right?

Or, alternatively, Israel long pre-dates the invention of Islam and was well known at the time.

Which do you think is more likely?

And there you have the problem of confusing archaeology and science with trying to interpret a 1400 year old ambiguous text. Islam is just an extension of the other two Abrahamic religions so will naturally refer to the old prophets and Israel. You are referring to Surah Al Isra 17:104. I get how it can be interpreted to predict modern day Israel but there is a problem in the verse. "Then, when the promise of the Hereafter comes to pass,". This implies it is referring to the end of times when all the people will be gathered to face judgement, not predicting modern day Israel.

As for your other point, there is no doubt, archaeologically, that there was an ancient group called the Israelites. What is in question though is whether it was actually a kingdom as per the biblical texts or just an Iron age tribal group of polytheists for whom one of their gods was called Yahweh. The evidence points to the latter. As for Israel having existed for thousands of years, absolute rubbish. If Iraq officially changed its name to Babylon tomorrow, that wouldn't mean Babylon has been a continuous country for thousands of years. It is just a modern day country named after an ancient civilisation. The geopolitical entity of Israel died out thousands of years ago and only existed in religious ceremonies. The land was known as Palestine for thousands of years and modern day Israel was invented in 1948.

This is about the way that extremists have taken over and destroyed the Green Party under the grifter and “hypno-tits” Polanski .

I think the Labour party are breathing a sense of relief that the anti semites have jumped ship to the Greens like fleas jumping from dog to dog.

From my experience in local politics because of the small number of people heartburn up to local meetings and the democratic nature of councilllor/mp selection a few new entrants to a party can wield significant influence. Our local ward party had meetings where 3 or 4 old members (old men and women) would be standard attendance then suddenly we had 5 new members, young devout Muslim men, would turn up as new members. They had very little to say on most local affairs but they soon made it clear they would only support a local councillor to stay in in their role of advocates for a faith school. The new members had successfully identified a means to push a single agenda, an Islamic school in town x. (It didn't happen due to this being one ward amongst many).

I think this is what happened to the Green party an masse, a raft of new members with a single intention of making the Green party anti Israel/Jew under the guise of Gaza. It's worked and now the greens are in a fu+)ing mess.

There needs to be a new party set up just for the environmentalists.

You tried to pretend that the only way Israel could have existed before 1948 is if the characters in the Torah could be proved to have existed.

You’re clearly not interested in engaging in good faith.

I don't think I am being unreasonable to insist that if arguments are being built on characters in ancient religious texts there should at least be a level of proof that these characters actually existed and their feats are recorded as facts. I have to admit I am equally as skeptical about stories such as parting the red sea or stopping the sun in order to finish a battle as I am about raising the dead or splitting the moon.

I wonder why?

Okay. I absolutely disagree with your viewpoint. I certainly don't see the party being taken over by Islamists. Please show me where they are trying to push the implementation of Sharia law or even promoting Islamic governorship. I personally agree that Zionism in its current form is totally racist so I agree with their policy. Current Zionism has nothing to do with Herzl's vision of Zionism which was not racist.

CurlewKate · 10/10/2026 08:53

There is a position which stands between outrage at the actions of the Israeli government and Islamist. And Islamist is not the same as Muslim.

Islamist is not the same as Muslim. I think there is an element of extremism in the takeover. That’s why I said Islamist

The Green party has completely abandoned its reason for existing, and now embraces every fashionable omnicause, from transgenderism to anti-Semitism. They no longer examine evidence, just look at everything through emotional, local-vote-grabbing views.

Votes by any means… but makes you wonder what turned game is. Power, then that?

PaperPanama · 10/10/2026 09:08

It has been infiltrated and taken over. As I posted a few days ago (04/10/2026 08:27):

Or, more cynically, the fact that this a party that focused on caring and self-sacrifice for a greater good, and therefore attracted people with similar characteristics, is inherently vulnerable to infiltration by more ruthless people.

HoneyButterPopcorn · 10/10/2026 09:21

But to what end? I saw the ‘fringe’ parts - but the religious element is even more worrying. People vole tribally.

Yes, classic entryist tactics. I think Polanski will be pushed out as by not voting on the anti-Israel motion he has shown insufficient commitment to the new cause.

Either Mothin Ali or a stooge leader will take over. We now have an Islamist party in Britain as it's much easier to take over an already existing party than to set one up from scratch. Especially as the Greens are full of useful idiots who idolise Islam and will be its willing servants in the UK.

HoneyButterPopcorn · 10/10/2026 09:29

I don’t know Muslims who want a religious party any where near politics. It’s bananas - cranks and fawning ‘allies’ who haven’t a clue what a ‘theocracy’ actually means.

One ‘green’ at work things ‘they are fun’ and another still thinks they give two toots about the environment.

Meanwhile me and another colleague (who was brought up in a colonial theocracy and got out) is 🙄🙄🙄🙄🙄😱

Yes, they're finished as an environmental party. But with growing sectarianism and demographic change, they could flourish for years to come.

They were defeated at the by-election. But by a candidate of Somali origin whose campaign literature was in Urdu, so Labour are also playing the sectarian game. Unfortunately I don't think the Greens will fold, but they will morph into something completely different and anyone with any principles or common sense will leave.

Yes, exactly, and I think we're going to see a lot more of this, advocating for Islamic interests by infiltrating existing party structures at a local and national level.

The Greens were ripe for takeover with their member led set up and their naive promotion of fashionable causes like trans, net zero, open borders, Gaza.
