Doesn’t really look like anyone believes that Donald is going to come out of his stupid war with any kind of better deal.

I am not saying it is not possible. I have heard a theory that the pilots were shooting down a drone and got too close. Explosion and fragments of the exploding drone damaged the chopper.

That would do with what I said upthread, that the drone was flying somewhere else and not targeting the chopper.

The picture Trump is painting is mad though.

Yep
I agree on the idea of fragments hitting it

Trumps little story is just crazy

Hoping the papers can come up with some graphics on how that could have looked though

RedTagAlan · 10/06/2026 17:16

Trump just said US attacks on Iran will resume. today. Because helicopter. Told everyone not to switch off their TVs because it will be big.

Source is I just him live on Sky news.

My first thoughts too
What a sick person he is !

JadeHare · 10/06/2026 20:04

I mean, what to believe at this point. This POTUS just chats shit.

Trump claims over 100 million barrels of oil transited Strait of Hormuz
Trump says he directed the US military “to execute a secret mission” to support oil tankers and other vessels through the critical Gulf waterway, claiming that more than 100 million barrels of oil is “making its way” through the Strait of Hormuz.
“More than 200 Commercial Ships have safely traveled through the Strait,” he wrote on social media.
The US president did not provide any evidence to back up his claims.
He added that the US – “NOT Iran” – controls the strait.

AND THEN:

Trump’s energy secretary says ‘unaware’ of US taking oil out of Iran
US Energy Secretary Chris Wright has faced tough questioning during a House committee hearing where he was pressed about Trump’s remarks claiming that the US has been “taking out” millions of barrels of oil from Iran.
Asked whether he was aware of that, Wright replied: “I’m unaware.”

And yet it is reported that ships get out. The shipping companies just stay quiet on if they paid the fee as per what Iran demand.
not
Seems to me Trump is making up a tale to hide that anyone is paying, And what a tall tale it is.

There is a diplomatic spat between the US and India now. The US targeted and disabled an Indian Tanker in the Gulf of Oman. Indian crew are dead. India are not happy.

And the US has started up strikes against Iran again now.

RedTagAlan · 11/06/2026 01:08

CNN just now reporting that Iran have announced the SoH closed to all ships because of US aggression.

From the CNN report, this line catches attention:

"The critical waterway has been choked off for months because of the war, with visible traffic through the strait estimated to be just 15% of pre-war levels, according to JPMorgan."

Pre war, the SOH had 20 million barrels per day. 15% of 20 is 3. So that would be 90 million barrels in the last month. And what is it Trump claims he has "snuck out"? 100 million barrels (in total it appears)

So that's approx. 90 million officially transited in the last month. And Trump claims HE has snuck 100 million barrels out (total)

And now Hegseth is saying this :

“Project Freedom, the idea of running ships through the Strait of Hormuz, it never stopped, it just went underground,” Hegseth told reporters outside US Central Command headquarters in Florida. “So there’s some things the public knows and some things the public doesn’t know, but ultimately we’ve been protecting commercial shipping going through the Strait of Hormuz as the president announced to the tune of over 100 million barrels that have moved through — and more — in the middle of the night protected by the United States in a way that Iran can’t stop.”

There is that 100 million figure again.

We know oil has still been transiting. It has been in the news. It has also been in the news that Iran announced charges.

And now Trump is saying it was HIM who sneaked the oil out in secret. With Hegseth now parroting him.

By my logic, unless Trump can show that his 100 million barrels are in addition to the 15% of pre-war oil transiting, I call BS on his claim.

He is making it up as he goes along.

Here is the news of the Indian crewed tanker targeted by the US near Oman.

Sorry if link is not good quality, restricted web where I am. But yeah, give a bunch of ideologically driven folk a lot of fancy guns and this is what happens. Nation of peace my arse. And yes, I do mean the USA.

"India has formally protested to the United States following an attack on a commercial oil tanker in the Gulf of Oman that left several Indian sailors missing and heightened concerns about the deteriorating security situation in one of the world’s most important maritime corridors.

In a significant diplomatic move, India’s Ministry of External Affairs summoned Jason Meeks to express New Delhi’s concerns over the incident involving the tanker Settebello. The protest, known diplomatically as a demarche, was delivered by Nagaraj Naidu following the attack.

According to Indian officials, the vessel was carrying 24 Indian crew members when it came under attack off the coast of Oman. Of those onboard, 21 Indian nationals have been rescued, while three remain missing. Search and rescue operations are continuing with the assistance of Omani authorities and the Indian Embassy in Oman.

In a strongly worded statement, the Indian government condemned the attack and described the growing threats to commercial shipping in the region as deeply concerning. New Delhi warned that the escalating conflict in the Middle East is creating serious risks for civilian vessels, international commerce, and the safety of seafarers from many nations."

Jordan’s military said it had intercepted 20 missiles launched from Iran.

Bahrain’s interior ministry has condemned “sinful Iranian aggression”. The ministry published pictures showing firefighters trying to put out blazes in several homes and a burnt out car after vehicles had caught fire from intercepted Iranian drones.

Georgia Meloni the Italian prime minister told parliament today that the EU should be ready to impose new sanctions on Iran if it does not facilitate an end to the crisis in the Middle East.

Meloni stated that, “If Tehran continues down the wrong path …the EU must be ready to increase pressure through new targeted messages.”

Three Indian sailors killed in US strike near Oman.

Announcing the death of three Indian sailors after the US struck an oil tanker, India’s Shipping Minister Sarbananda Sonowal says it was “deeply unfortunate to learn of the tragic incident”.

From the Telegraph:

“The US has fired 49 Tomahawk missiles at Iran and warned that more strikes will follow unless Tehran agrees to a peace deal.
Washington launched “self-defence strikes” on Iranian targets overnight for the second day in a row.
US Central Command said American forces had hit military surveillance capabilities, communications systems and air-defence sites using precision-guided munitions in response to “unwarranted and continued aggression” by the Islamic Republic.
Tehran retaliated by firing missiles and drones towards US bases in Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain and saying it had shut the Strait of Hormuz”

Once again an interesting narrative from the US
Did they forget they bombed civilian water infrastructure ?

‘The US military said it targeted communications and radar facilities.
Iranian officials, however, said civilian infrastructure was also damaged, including two water reservoirs.
If correct, this is the first reported strike on civilian infrastructure in Iran in several weeks, but it comes at a time when Iran is facing severe water shortage.

Iran’s West Asia News Agency (WANA) news outlet reported on Wednesday, citing “available reports”, that two concrete water storage reservoirs in the Bamani district in the Sirik County of Hormozgan Province, in southern Iran, 1,012km (629 miles) from the capital, Tehran, had been hit in the US attacks.

Has the US hit Iran’s water infrastructure before?
Yes.
On March 7, while missiles were flying across the region in an all-out war between Iran and the US-Israel, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi accused the US of striking a desalination plant on Qeshm Island off the coast of Iran in the Strait of Hormuz. The strike reportedly cut off the water supply to 30 villages.
“Water supply in 30 villages has been impacted. Attacking Iran’s infrastructure is a dangerous move with grave consequences. The US set this precedent, not Iran,” Araghchi wrote in an X post.

The reservoirs that were struck provide drinking water to more than 20,000 residents in the city of Kouhestak and 10 surrounding villages

Is this a war crime?
Isa Bozorgzadeh, spokesman for Iran’s water industry, claimed the US strike on the water reservoirs is a war crime, WANA reported

International humanitarian law classifies water infrastructure, including drinking water installations, treatment plants and pipelines, as civilian property which is not deemed a legitimate target during war.
The Berlin Rules prohibit countries at war from destroying water installations “if such actions would cause disproportionate suffering to civilians”.
AlJazeera

Hospitals, civilians, civilian water and desalination plants are protected. We’ve seen and are still seeing Israel breaking international law and now the US are up to these dirty tricks too

Twiglets1 · 11/06/2026 13:16

Dr Prune - have you forgotten that Iran have also targeted civilian infrastructure such as water desalination plants, so they are all as bad as each other at this point with breaking international law.

I haven’t forgotten because they haven’t

but in the interests of fairness and openness I googled it for you

‘ Iran has never successfully bombed or destroyed water desalination plants in Israel, though it has targeted Israeli water infrastructure in other ways. 1]
The details of these actions include:
Physical Attacks: As of 2026, there are no verified reports or official records of Iran physically bombing or striking an Israeli desalination facility. 1]
Cyberattacks: In April 2020, Iran launched a major cyberattack targeting the software controllers of Israel's water distribution systems. This attempted to manipulate the pumps and increase chlorine levels in the water supply, but the attack was successfully thwarted by Israeli defense systems before any disruptions or damage occurred’

Or did you just mean an attempted cyber attack
In which case systematic bombing, which results in the long time loss of infrastructure to provide water to civilians, is much more conclusive.

Cyber attacks are very clearly not the same

Iran damaged a water desalination plant in Bahrain.

Also attacked international airport in Dubai ( civilian infrastructure).

Don’t know what sources you are using these days - not still social media I hope.

Well looks like it was tit for tat at the time.

In the current Middle East conflict, Iran has carried out drone strikes that damaged a water desalination plant in Bahrain. 1, 2]
The attack occurred on March 8, 2026. According to Bahrain's Interior Ministry, an Iranian drone struck and severely damaged civil infrastructure, specifically the facility's water supply which affected dozens of villages. Iran confirmed the attack, stating it was retaliation for alleged U.S. and Israeli strikes on an Iranian desalination facility on Qeshm Island. 1, 2, 3]

So here on the Telegraph Trump states they are still talking to Iran

Edited

Has anyone told him that Kharg Island does not have the oil wells ?

The oil is piped to the Island, because it is a deep water port. If he wants the oil wells he will need to take and hold a massive chunk of the mainland too.
