Is the penny finally starting to drop about anti semitism and hate marches?

I think we are now seeing the cumulative impact of the anti senitism that has built up over the last 3 years where there has been a permissive environment with politicians hesitant to intervene in events in the streets that have incubated anti Jew sentiment.

All political parties apart from the hate apologist Greens are now waking up to the fact we need better policing and perhaps legislation. I for one will acting a vote for a party that recognises hate marches for what they are and also willing to tackle the vile posts appearing on social media (and Labour have reacted too late too little). Enough is enough for a Jewish community that lives in perpetual fear.

‘A test of our values’: Starmer to call for whole-society response to rising antisemitism

PM will say responsibility to stand with Jewish communities lies with ‘every one of us’ at event on Tuesday

But you defend one country’s diabolical actions over and over again to the exclusion of all others, even to the point of pretending that their government haven’t openly declared their intention to ethnically cleanse Palestinians. You frequently denigrate posters for pointing out uncomfortable truths, and most strangely, you start and contribute to countless threads about IsraelPalestine without ever acknowledging the horrendous suffering endured by the Palestinians.

Are you at all aware of how by your own definition, this could be construed as an obsession?

I've seen twiglets acknowledge the suffering of Palestinians many times. Totally baseless accusation. Almost as if you don't really read her posts.

Some of us on here post in defence of Israel, because we see Jews and Israel being unfairly demonized. Some of us post constantly attacking Israel because they see Israel unfairly demonizing Palestinians.

We're both 2 sides of the same coin.

It’s odd how you cannot see that support for Israel has diminished because of its horrific actions, not because of MN mods!

It's you who cannot see how this board has scared people away because of the aggressive way anyone is treated who dares to express alternative views.

I see plenty of support for Israel on other boards (as well as criticism of course) it's just CITME that is becoming an echo chamber. A lot of the people who used to post on here are still posting on MN and I see them on other boards still of the still opinions they used to express on here.

There are probably no Jewish people left who still post on CITME and soon there could be no one who expresses support for them either.

Not because they have disappeared but because this particular board is so toxic.

Dairy - you are always so kind and reasonable.

But I have seen even you suffer personal attacks on this board. Hope that doesn't happen today for daring to defend me.

Other boards are safer places for those like us that want to debate with people in good faith, whether they are more on the side of Israel or more wish to express their anger or disappointment with Israel without hatred of the country.

Argh I wasn't thinking of it as defending you, but simply defending the truth 😇

Agree
It’s hardly surprising as atrocities continue
As more and more are killed and more war crimes committed more become aware of the reality of what Israel are doing and so support will diminish.
It becomes harder to justify any of it

I wonder how many will turn up to demonstrate against Israel’s land sale of Palestinian land in London on Sunday. I think even the anti war pro Palestinians are exhausted and disheartened that our country does nothing

I only defend one country to the exclusion of all others on here because outside of here I don't live in a community where people only want to criticise Israel. Which is not to say they never criticise the IDF or Netanyahu's government - they do - but in a way that is understandable - unlike the way some posters "debate" on here which is by throwing out opinions as facts and turning to personal attacks the moment anyone expresses an alternative view.

Think about how much broader debate used to be on this board and how narrow it is now. I'm one of the few ones left who still dares to defend Israel and I'm getting very tired of it now.

Well done and well done MN mods too for allowing CITME board to become almost exclusively an echo chamber for those that hate Israel.

I only defend one country to the exclusion of all others on here because outside of here I don't live in a community where people only want to criticise Israel.

And most pro Palestinians posters only do so exclusively on here because outside of here most of us don't live in communities where people continually defend the indefensible. Why can't what is true for you be true for others? Why are only one side posting on here obsessed in your opinion?Newsflash most posters criticise a whole host of things irl just like, as you claim, only exclusively defend Israel on here.

Your comment was deleted as it was a personal attack. Happy to help, don't mention it.

Most of the Jewish posters have left this board and post elsewhere. Many posters who can see that both 'sides' have contributed to the problems post on the main boards and often not here.

These boards are pretty toxic and so no wonder people avoid and post elsewhere. You don't tend to get a debate on these boards. Some threads are just gathering up anything and everything anti Israel and others are latest stories eg Iran.

I personally have found that the main boards offer more balance and so tend to post there now, rare to post here. This thread is in 'following' although, I'll probably unfollow and stick to main boards for more balance.

It was obviously a roundabout way of suggesting everyone that disagrees with their opinion are toxic. Seems calling others toxic is ok...

Yes @Boolabus, thank you. That’s what confused me about the deletion!

Not really, Ellen's post was deleted as she called an actual person toxic- as in actually did what youre accusing twiglets of doing- whereas twiglets was saying the board itself is toxic.
Ellen called Twiglets toxic and got deleted. Again, happy to help. 😊

Yes exactly.

There is precious little debate on this board unlike others where the majority of posters can debate politely even while disagreeing.

She didn't call twiglets toxic she suggested that if, in twiglets opinion, the threads are toxic and as a main contributer does that not suggest they also are? Can you explain how it wouldn't? If as I suggested is it only those that disagree with their opinion that are making it toxic? So by default they are labelling posters like ellen and me and others toxic? Which could also be interpreted as a personal attack.

I haven’t called anyone toxic.

And had my own post deleted so obviously was reported.

ShockingBritain · 12/06/2026 11:54

I see the thread was originally started by @mids2019 about antisemitism and the 'hate marches'.

Factually the UK has a problem with antisemitism. There have also been terror attacks on Jewish people and ambulances. I personally don't think some people realise how hate filled they are. For the ones who don't realise it, Jewish people in the UK are not respnsible for the conflict in Gaza. Uk Jewish citizens need protection from hate filled people.

You used the term first so maybe refrain from it in future.
Dairy has also in the past suggested this is a nasty corner of mn so no idea why they continually engage with such awful people.....

By calling a board toxic I am not identifying any one poster as being toxic.

It’s not a personal attack - can you see the difference?

It is a nasty corner of MN and it is toxic. That is why not many other posters from the huge MN community post on here - or stay for long - or what do you think explains that?

Wow, you don't even know be but are suggesting that I might not care about hate for minorities. Surely, you are aware that Jewish people in the UK are a minority? I care that they are not subject to antisemitism. I find the main boards more protective of more minorities including Jewish people.
