I think we are now seeing the cumulative impact of the anti senitism that has built up over the last 3 years where there has been a permissive environment with politicians hesitant to intervene in events in the streets that have incubated anti Jew sentiment.

All political parties apart from the hate apologist Greens are now waking up to the fact we need better policing and perhaps legislation. I for one will acting a vote for a party that recognises hate marches for what they are and also willing to tackle the vile posts appearing on social media (and Labour have reacted too late too little). Enough is enough for a Jewish community that lives in perpetual fear.

‘A test of our values’: Starmer to call for whole-society response to rising antisemitism

PM will say responsibility to stand with Jewish communities lies with ‘every one of us’ at event on Tuesday

Not to mention what appears to be the new land grab in Lebanon.

Indeed. And now they are saying that Turkey is next...

and Syria

After the last few years of war, Israel controls adjacent territory in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria. Israeli officials say these areas are security buffer zones. But some in Israel want to permanently extend their country's borders, using the Bible as a map.

stealing land in Lebanon gives them much easier access to more of Syria

Meanwhile, another teenager has been charged with the ambulance arson attacks. How are all these teens being radicalised?

Online crap I’d say is a major factor

And possibly the IRGC.

I doubt they’d have direct contact

Well yeah, that's what groups like HAYI are for.

Yes As I said
online
That’s how they recruit and spew hate

We really need to control the darker side of the web to stop all forms of hate.

I am calm, thanks. And in what way am I spreading information?

KeeperOfTheSevenKeys · 10/06/2026 10:40

What does that have to do with antisemitism?

Ellen2shoes · 12/06/2026 01:01

The attempt to smear those who actively oppose the ethnic cleansing and genocidal actions of Israel as anti semitic and hate filled is misguided at best.

Have you read for example, Amnesty’s latest report on the magnitude of the atrocities? We are witnessing crimes against humanity against a backdrop of inaction/facilitation from our government, despite their strong verbal condemnation.

People of all faiths and ethnicities are being compelled to peacefully protest against crimes committed because of our government’s inexplicable apathy. What other recourse is there? People in Israel are doing this too.

How many times must it be made clear before the penny drops that criticising Israel’s devastating actions is not anti semitic?

Twiglets1 · 12/06/2026 01:57

You can say it as often as you want @Ellen2shoes

It’s not antisemitic to criticise Israel.

But plenty of posts on this board do read as antisemitic. For example the obsession with criticising Israel while remaining silent on others at fault such as Hamas, Hezbollah & the IRGC. And the insistence on “ethnic cleansing” when Israel have not indicted that it their intention. Land grabs yes - ethnic cleansing no.

And “genocide” can only be determined by an international court ( as has been explained many times, even by the UN).

Ellen2shoes · 12/06/2026 02:04

Which of all those parties mentioned are killing on such a massive scale @Twiglets1 ?
You know Israel have indicated their intention is ethnic cleansing. Check the mentions from the gov?
You are on here. What is your obsession?

Ellen2shoes · 12/06/2026 02:13

I suspect you will soon mention other countries where human rights violations are rife but I notice you never start threads on them.

I would welcome it. Let’s join the dots.

A human rights board where mums start to work out who the victims really are, how and why would be very good I think.

Ellen2shoes · 12/06/2026 02:35

I know you well enough by now @Twiglets1 to understand that you love the last word and this page is coming to an end soon.

I don’t have an obsession with criticising any one country over and over again to the exclusion of any other country.

Twiglets1 · 12/06/2026 05:44

Iran have killed on a massive scale if we don’t conveniently forget that they are responsible for all the Hamas deaths, all the Hezbollah deaths, all the IRGC deaths - & they like killing their own people as well as people in other countries.

Let’s hope Trump can get Iran to stop using their proxies to keep attacking Israel shall we? Or maybe it’s just me hoping for that.

They have. They fund and have funded terrorism for years. Hamas, Hezbollah, The Houthis etc. They are good for no one, particularly not the innocent people in their own respective areas. However, totally ignored by some. I think many don't bother to even comment anymore, it's fairly predictable.

Tic toc
Various social media tropes, some appalling ones on some sites that are unchecked.

I don’t have an obsession with criticising any one country over and over again to the exclusion of any other country.

But you defend one country’s diabolical actions over and over again to the exclusion of all others, even to the point of pretending that their government haven’t openly declared their intention to ethnically cleanse Palestinians. You frequently denigrate posters for pointing out uncomfortable truths, and most strangely, you start and contribute to countless threads about IsraelPalestine without ever acknowledging the horrendous suffering endured by the Palestinians.

Are you at all aware of how by your own definition, this could be construed as an obsession?

I only defend one country to the exclusion of all others on here because outside of here I don't live in a community where people only want to criticise Israel. Which is not to say they never criticise the IDF or Netanyahu's government - they do - but in a way that is understandable - unlike the way some posters "debate" on here which is by throwing out opinions as facts and turning to personal attacks the moment anyone expresses an alternative view.

Think about how much broader debate used to be on this board and how narrow it is now. I'm one of the few ones left who still dares to defend Israel and I'm getting very tired of it now.

Well done and well done MN mods too for allowing CITME board to become almost exclusively an echo chamber for those that hate Israel.

Ellen2shoes · 12/06/2026 11:13

It’s odd how you cannot see that support for Israel has diminished because of its horrific actions, not because of MN mods!
