Conflict in the Middle East

Trump is desperate. How can he resolve the Iran shitshow?

1000 replies

TooBigForMyBoots · 06/04/2026 00:32

He is flailing, desperate and increasingly unhinged. Weakening the USA, alienating allies and strengthening the enemies of democracy with every step.

How can he fix this?
Can he fix it at all?

I saw one point of view (just on SM) that the 10 point plan was put forward by Iran a couple of weeks ago and rejected. Then Trump made the comments about a “whole civilisarion will die tonight” and gave a deadline. And as the deadline came, Trump had no way out so to save face he says he grabbed on to the 10 point plan and claimed victory. Sounds about right

US now criticising Iran for not managing SoH well ie Iran not letting tankers through because Israel bombing Lebanon

Still a shit show! It’s the civilians I feel sorry for, and worry for the future as poor countries can’t afford fertiliser leading to possible famine

Last night he was still issuing warnings on truth social, he wants the share the 2 million paid by vessels for crossing.
If it wasn’t so serious it would be funny watching this complete narcissist psychopath makes decisions, he’s torturing Cuba, invaded Venezuela, bomb the Iranian people including children. He finds joyous humour in these things.
He smears anyone who stands against him, he’s a lunatic.
I think the Macron’s would be happier if DT would just keep them out of his mouth, throwing the man rumours back out there. He implied BM socked her husband in the jaw, a masculine description. I think he’s teasing them.

Were we complimenting Trump and his propaganda team and using positive words like clever, funny and effective? I think not.

If you don't support the IRGC then maybe stop buying into their propaganda as a harmless joke just because they use LEGO characters or whatever.

They are a proscribed terrorist organisation in many countries, they are not harmless content creators for people to enjoy on social media.

Were we?

Nobody is buying into their propaganda, so stop suggesting it.

EmeraldShamrock000 · 10/04/2026 11:55

There is a war on American soil. A huge drug war with narcotics terrorist organisations ripping communities apart. 100,000’s young people dead, there are far right and left fanatics ready to kill each other.
Trump could have made America great again if he wasn’t someone easily influenced for whatever reasons.

They have utilized a powerful tool in social media and capitalised on it. Trump has used it on so many occasions (Obama's as monkeys , dropping poo on protesters etc) that to use it in the exact same way is really going to drive him mad. Especially as they are putting ideas such as Hegseth as a drunk and Trump being under Netanyahu thumb and putting them into mainstream.

It's also a very important discussion point because it shows that the Iranian regime is not showing weakness or cowering which Trump presumed they would when they attacked and the rhetoric that he is showing in his posts is not working.

As usual the disclaimer this doesn't mean I agree with them (Iran) or support the regime but discussing them is not without merit.

It was disgusting that some people laughed when Trump depicted the Obamas as monkeys and it is disgusting that people are laughing now at a murderous regime's lame jokes.

You say you don't agree with Iran yet your posts always seem more critical of the US or Israel. As in this one it shows that the Iranian regime is not showing weakness or cowering which Trump presumed they would when they attacked and the rhetoric that he is showing in his posts is not working.

Iran regime not showing weakness - positive.
Trump's rhetoric not working - negative.

Good job you included the disclaimer.

DuncinToffee · 10/04/2026 11:58

That is abolute nonsense and I have no idea why you keep spouting it.

The frightening thing though is in the wider world ( not on here ) especially on sm this propaganda is getting out there. The Iranian regime should be pariahs especially after their actions in January against protesters but because Trump is handling this so badly with his own sm presence they are not.

And we shouldn't have to use disclaimers to stop you claiming people are supportive of the IRGC

I agree. The Iranian SM are good and I can see they appeal to people

I am very uncomfortable with them for that reason.

But as is said, we can't ignore them. Just as we can't brush off Trump's genocide threat as just rhetoric.

It's all messed up.

What is nonsense about my statements? I never suggested anyone use disclaimers. Marty chose to of her own free will and I said it was good that she did.

Do you really believe that anyone on here thinks that the Irianian regime not showing weakness is positive?

Serpentstooth · 10/04/2026 12:27

Put the food away, Duncin, sense isn't on the menu.

Boolabus · 10/04/2026 12:28

Twiglets1 · 10/04/2026 11:10

Seriously? Seeing as you are calling them really funny, clear and effective - it sounds like you are falling for them too.

Stacks up.

Fgs twigs, you can recognise how clever it is without falling for it!! I don't fall for propaganda as easily as some that's for sure

Stacks up
Indirectly accusing me of supporting Iran now? Pathetic

Boolabus · 10/04/2026 12:32

Twiglets1 · 10/04/2026 11:43

It doesn't appear that people hold Iran to any standards at all if they are chuckling at the LEGO propaganda of a regime that murders thousands of their own people for protesting and has a terrible reputation on human rights against women and gay people for example.

Sorry who here is chuckling at it? My post on this clearly stated the serious damage they are doing and I'm not sure why you have such an issue with someone raising the real threat of people falling for these propaganda videos?

Boolabus · 10/04/2026 12:41

DuncinToffee · 10/04/2026 12:22

Do you really believe that anyone on here thinks that the Irianian regime not showing weakness is positive?

Honestly it's ridiculous. I was clearly highlighting the danger of this clever use of social media by Iran, but apparently that makes me a full blown Iranian regime supporter.
My point was how effective it is, whether we like it or not, and what a dangerous tool that is for Iran to use. Convince people they're the rational clever ones and the US are imbeciles.

Twiglets1 · 10/04/2026 12:51

I'm glad you're all distancing yourselves now from the propaganda of the regime anyway rather than agreeing on how great their propaganda is really clever, funny and effective

I'm glad you're all distancing yourselves now
Ah twiglet you still don't seem to understand do you? Recognising that something is clever and funny doesn't mean you support it. When I saw it I recognised it instantly for what it was a DANGEROUS TOOL. I'm using capitals for those hard of hearing at the back. If it wasn't clever or funny I wouldn't be concerned because no one would engage with it, or share it, or like it or make it into a meme. Which is what is happening.

So no your comment that your glad people are recognising it for what it is "now" makes no sense when every poster clearly recognised it for what it is from my very first comment on it.

I also disagree with you when you suggested it shouldn't be discussed, it very much should be because it is a dangerous propaganda tool.

Stirabout · 10/04/2026 13:03

The Iranian embassies are throwing it back at Trump

Trump swears and insults.

The embassy’s posts are far cleverer in their content
I think people are more surprised that they’ve responded in this way than anything

I have not seen them. Blocked where I am. I have heard they are very good though.

I do think that given how Tik-Tok and the likes has been in the news for years now, and all the stuff about how foreign powers do use social media to influence stuff, then people do know what blatant propaganda is.

And lets face it, Trump does make it real easy for the propagandists. He can be painted as an appalling leader, a corrupt leader, a diabolical person... the full hogg... and all of it be true.

In fact, the pro Trump folk even have trouble finding positive things about him. As we saw here on a pro Trump thread that was started a while back. He is a propagandists dream.

Boolabus · 10/04/2026 13:08

This is one of many news articles on them. I actually first heard about them being discussed on a current affairs programme.

It’s about Trump
not CITME
( although I’m guessing that comes up )
Doesn’t look like OP is getting much Trump support on it
