You should have a go at watching UK mainstream news 👍

That's what I watch and the people celebrating or just returning to their homes in Gaza all look of normal weight.

Firealarm1414 · 11/10/2025 10:05

Being charitable, I can only imagine that the people opining about how its a famine and genocide are young and dont remember when footage of actual famines and genocides were shown on the news. There were no people who looked healthy out celebrating. What we are seeing now is not the same.

This talk is disgusting when lots of children and babies - with no medical conditions - have died over the last few months due to lack of food and baby formula (because of Israel’s man-made famine). Verified by:

  • IPC (Integrated Food Security Phase Classification)
  • WHO (World Health Organization)
  • FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization)
  • UNICEF (United Nations Children’s Fund)
  • WFP (World Food Programme)
  • UN OCHA (Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs)
  • UN Secretary-General António Guterres
  • Action Against Hunger
  • Oxfam International
  • UN OHCHR (Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights)

In which case it's surprising that there's not more actual footage, given how much has been released through the course of the conflict including very very graphic images and film of dead children.

JacknDiane · 11/10/2025 10:14

This is the second time in as many days I've read on here that everyone in Gaza looks healthy and well fed.
Imagine if some idiot said that about the hostages? There would be an uproar.

There's actual visual evidence of starving hostages.

Plus that's exactly what people did say, when some of the hostages were released in relatively good condition/normal body weight. I remember clearly.

To paraphrase Orwell: "All victims are equal, but some victims are more equal than others...."

It's like some people are disappointed that the Palestinians weren't starved hard enough.

Some people will regret not listening to these organisations when the true extent of the crimes against humanity committed by the IDF in Gaza are revealed and the world reacts with disgust.

People did say that about the hostages though. And that because they smiled at gunpoint then that means that they were treated well and hamas are a great bunch of lads etc.

Greta thunberg accidentally used a picture of an emaciated Israeli hostage as an example of a "mistreated Palestinian prisoner". She couldn't even find one photo of an emaciated Palestinian that she could have used, even with her hamas contacts. Says it all

Exactly and shame on these organisations who have lapped up the 'hamas health ministry' stories. I bet the terrorists and their supporters all piss themselves laughing at western media.

I would agree with this, but I find it's mostly those with a stated pro-Palistinian position - they would be fine with seeing obvious suffering as long as it made Israel look bad.

No one has said they are disappointed by the healthy weight of the Gazans.

It’s indisputable that they will have suffered mentally & physically from being dragged into a 2 year war.

Not their fault some chose to exaggerate the famine aspect … I blame Hamas propaganda and those organisations that chose to repeat Hamas propaganda as truth.

I'm not "disappointed" at all. Only a sick mind would think thats the case. I'm happy at the thought that this war might be coming to an end. I'm glad that gazans can hopefully start to rebuild their lives. I dont believe it's a genocide or a famine, but I dont doubt that being in a war zone is absolutely terrible and I want it to stop.

I do believe that when the dust clears the facts about this war might be the opposite to what you think. Let's wait and see, theres no doubt that hamas have won the propaganda war. For my part, I can say that I'm willing to accept evidence to the contrary. Can you?

Is this visual evidence enough for you?

Al-Alaa Ahmed Al-Arja

Mohammed Zakaria Asfour

Judy al-Aroor (6 months old)

I could keep going- there are hundreds. But I have a young family who I will spend my Saturday with instead.

I didn't dispute that some ill children were severely affected by the difficult conditions of the conflict.

I am saying I have seen no evidence of mass starvation in the general population.

The awful fact is, that many of the children who died or were affected by malnutrition due to their underlying conditions had been receiving medical care in israel prior to the war. Hamas dont care about that of course, but are happy to use those kids as propaganda, once their healthy siblings are cropped out of the photos

Lots of children with no medical conditions have now starved to death. The children with medical conditions starved to death first because they were most vulnerable.

The UN is dominated by autocracies and charities and NGOs are infiltrated by, at best, activists and, at worst, government and terrorist agents. Some of these organisations are fronts for other activities. Ex-jihadist terrorists have said they ran operations through charities and NGOs. Charities and NGOs are great fronts for lobbying, propaganda, fundraising and money-laundering and for providing cover for dodgy people to gain access and travel. The last few years have been eye-opening on this. Even without all that, these agencies are rife with corruption and abuse (e.g. the U.N., Oxfam and the Red Cross trafficking or abusing the people they are meant to help or stealing aid.)

@Wedonttalkaboutboris even you have shifted your position to only talking about children now. Before you were talking about mass famine in Gaza affecting the whole population.

I haven’t shifted my position at all. I focus on the children because they are the most vulnerable and, tragically, the ones who suffer first. Highlighting them doesn’t negate the suffering of the wider population. It’s a strategic choice to make sure the most urgent humanitarian crisis isn’t ignored.

There have been lots of perfectly healthy children who have starved to death.

Then maybe some of those well fed men walking and healthy looking Hamasniks could have shared a bit better?
Pretty awful to hear about children starving with so many healthy looking adults about.
Hopefully with aid flooding in now the food that is there can be distributed more fairly.
