A mild, late, spineless stand. But a stand. It makes me wonder how much longer this can go on before governments realise people are fed up of this.

There you go.

Speaking of blood-letting, the UEFA Exec Committee will doubtless see some heads roll following this.

Rightly so.

I’m sorry but they won’t. The tide has turned.

I’m sorry but they won’t. The tide has turned.

Come now, don’t be sorry.

UEFA has breached its own rules and regs - it has taken a position. Now it must own it. That will not play out well with stakeholders, including some of the FA’s, the Clubs, the advertisers, the sponsors, the players, and the fans.

To think otherwise is plain naive.

Even if you wish it wasn’t so.

I don’t think you realise that the court of public opinion is very much against Israel’s actions.

They could have done - but this message was prompted by the anger related to the killing of a footballer

A former Israeli footballer was murdered by Hamas on October 7 - celebrating his 43rd birthday, so a very similar age to the Palestinian footballer (41);

11 October 2023
In a 142-word statement from European football's governing body postponing Israel's upcoming matches there was a glaring omission.

It did reference the "current security situation in Israel".

But at that point - 36 hours after the surprise Hamas attack on Israel - UEFA omitted any reference to the hundreds killed in Israel or condolences to its member nation reeling from an unprecedented massacre.

A nation hosting the UEFA under-19 European championship in 2027.

A nation whose football community is mourning the death of a former player Lior Asulin - murdered by Hamas gunmen at the music festival close to the Gaza border.

By contrast, UEFA took only a few hours last month to announce on a non-member nation: "Victims of the tragic earthquake in Morocco to be remembered at all upcoming national team and club competition matches."

In 2016, condolences were swiftly sent to France after UEFA said it was "deeply saddened by the terrorist attack which occurred in Nice"...

They couldn’t make it more obvious could they?

“The court of public opinion”.

Which jurisdiction is that? MN? The Guardian? The BBC?

You do realise that Moscow, Beijing and Tehran are fermenting a lot of the unrest dont you?

Not Hamas’s?

I guess it depends on what public circles you move in but the ones I move in are definitely becoming more and more sick of the terrorist propaganda which have become MSM ‘facts’.

Everybody wants the war to end, the loss of lives to end and for there to a peaceful solution so both Israelis and Palestinians can live in peace but that can’t happen while Hamas, the PIJ, and even the PA, hold any sort of power in the region,

Anybody with a rational mindset understands that and those are the circles I move in thankfully.

Court of public opinion seems to be nutters on X and Jeremy Bowen.

I really don't think too many care tbh. Netanyahu waning on about his spiritual mission and dreams of a Greater Israel, announcing their plans to 'bury' the idea of a Palestinian state apparently to show their European allies who is boss.

Even if they give a mealy mouthed apology it changes nothing. The majority of people still think the Israeli government and the IDF are a bunch of child killing land grabbers and will keep campaigning until they are persona non grata in Europe.

What is your opinion on the Palestinians in Gaza being handed an autonomous State and what they subsequently did with it?

Speaking of zero shits, do you really think Bibi gives one what people think? It’s only Washington that counts, and clearly he’s prepared to run Trump over when he needs to.

Nobody wants to see human suffering - anywhere, but the October 2023 massacre lit the fuse, of course.

No amount of hand ringing, or placard waving, will change that.

I would be interested in the same opinions if it wasn’t Israel who had been attacked as on Oct 7th and was carrying out a war to remove a terrorist government who had vowed to do it again and again, and rescue it’s hostages, under the same type of warfare Hamas uses.

I’d be interested to see how much Hamas propaganda is playing a role in this. The chart below I mean.

I’d dare to say that if any other nation on earth had been committing a genocide action would’ve ben taken a lot earlier.

Yes you would think everyone would be joining forces to destroy the terrorist group hamas who are responsible for the atrocities on Oct 7th, the suffering of the hostages and the suffering and deaths of the gazans but nope. Many seem to believe all the rubbish hamas spout and blame Israel for everything even when we see terrorists nicking all the aid.

Yes this makes me question what people are spreading. Hamas seem to be forgotten or their information disseminated.

We know what happened. People condemn it. But that doesn’t excuse the genocide that is happening now.

Nope I don't. I think he just uses people. I think the Israeli government care about Israel(not the Israeli people, just the land and the power) and no one else. They are allies to no one, they take and take and then the minute governments deviate even a little from what the Israel government want they turn on them and smear them and use it as some batshit excuse to take even more.

Theyve found a puppet in Trump but most other countries are sick of bending over for them and getting nothing in return but grief.

'Yeah we know it what happened and people condemn it', except UEFA?

Hamas could've and should've stopped it, they should also stop keeping aid for themselves and look after their people but they are terrorists so what can you expect.

Now, try to imagine a Middle East without Israel, if you dare.

Night, night.
