To think UN should now be in Gaza as a peacekeeping force

Seriously, when even the Daily Express are even calling mass forced starvation and putting pictures like this on their front pages.

Surely the UN could act as a peacekeeping force and stop this insanity?

Its obscene.

Yes, because they did such a good job in Lebanon…cough cough.

I can correct you as that is totally historically wrong.
The us had nothing to do with it for starters.
The brits had control of mandatory Palestine and were sick and tired of policing the fighting between Palestinian Jews (living there, legally owning and buying land) and Palestinian Arabs. They asked the UN to help solve the problem. The un set up a commission in early 1947 (and bunch of countries led it but not Britain or any security council member). They recommended a partition plan. This partition plan was then voted on at the UN in November 1947 and passed.
However Arabs refused to accept the plan. Palestinian jews did.
A nasty civil war began. Brits were desperate to leave and did so in all the chaos in May 1948. The day the Brits left, the Palestinian Jews declared the state of israel. No one declared a state of palestine BTW. Hence Israel came into being.
This is all verifiable historical fact.
Hth

Ah stop.

Do you seriously think that's the full history.
Love how you skip over the Nakba, forced expulsion, poisoning of wells in Palestinan villages, the massacres, the Zionist terrorist gangs, the laws that meant an Israeli could take an Arabs home etc etc

Hamas with press vests on?

You know that is bullshit.

Hamas are rapists, they have raped women.

You claim supporting terrorists doesn’t come from no where, you clearly have a line which if crossed enables the support of terrorists.

The IDF are commiting acts of terrorism right now.

Do you support them?

DustyTangerine · 23/07/2025 22:38

Flumpflimpo · 23/07/2025 21:35

What makes me sad was i was watching videos of isaraeli people on youtube. A palestinian man talks to lots of them on omegle.

The things the israelis come out with are shocking. On the videos , They said things like "i want all palestinians to die". "Palestinians are animals not human so it doesnt matter if they die". And "It is okay for children should be killed because some are terrorists"

They are absolutely out of control with cruelty

Edited

And Palestinians celebrated in the street after Hamas slaughtered Israelis. We could do this all day but I can see you just appear to be a little bit of an antisemite so I don’t really want to engage with you

the picture from the Daily express was so disturbing, it’s under review by mumsnet. Speaks volumes really.

Don’t MN review all images before they get posted?

i thought they did

Hamas with press vests on?

Actual journalists have been shot by Hamas, really awful people. There have been multiple anti-hamas protests in the strip too. The idea that Palestinians are cheering on Hamas is a bit if a fallacy.

LipstickLessons · 23/07/2025 22:40

Gloriia · 23/07/2025 21:55

Exactly. I think some posters think hamas are just misunderstood.

In 2024 Hamas took 0 UN workers hostage. Israel killed 126 UN workers.

ByAzura · 23/07/2025 22:40

NotTerfNorCis · 23/07/2025 22:29

The IDF is behaving worst than many 'terrorist' organisations right now.

What's with the quotes around terrorist?

And Israelis have cookouts at the border and bring their families on picnics to see the destruction of Gaza.
There are a lot of shitty people out there.

We've seen it! Hamas folk laughing and waving their fake press vests.

It's hamas who block the trucks, or keep it for themselves.

Do please tell me anything I have written which is not historical fact
BTW, ALL Jews were expelled from any territory held by Arabs including the old city of Jerusalem with the holiest sites to Judaism. I mean 100% judenrein. We could also talk about that too if we want to go further.

'Hamas are a terrorist organisation so it totally stands to reason why the people of Gaza haven’t been able to get rid of them'

The ME is full of terrorist organisations. Have you seen what's going on in Syria. Many places oppose the terrorists though. Except gaza.

Oopsie you forgot to mention the biggest and most evil terrorist organisation in the ME... The one and only IDF (don't panic, it's not your little secret anymore)

It’s also just a terrible excuse.

“Oh sorry we blew up that school, it was a Hamas operations centre”

”Oh sorry we shot that 6 year old girl 30 times, we thought she was a Hamas operative”

Did you get a chance to look at that article yet?

ohfook · 23/07/2025 22:42

Bubblegumicecreamm · 23/07/2025 22:15

There comes a point in time where something becomes historical. You cannot argue that Hamas were just or blameless for their disgusting acts based on an event of over 100 years ago.

The world is to blame. We saw so clearly after the treaty of Versailles that if you treat a group of people like shit and try to beat them down, they will support someone who claims to have their best interests at heart even if on a global scale it’s clearly a horrendous idea. We’ve seen this happen time and time again when ordinary Germans voted for Hitler because they believed he would make Germany great again right up to the present day when some Palestinians (I’m pretty sure it’s only about 7% of Palestinians alive today who voted for them) support Hamas because they believe they’ll get them out of this state. It’s human nature not some massive gotcha. I know for a fact if I was living in Germany in the 1930s or Gaza now I’d vote for whoever made it most likely that I could feed my kids.

Radioundermypillow · 23/07/2025 22:42

I listened to a talk by the ceo of medicin sans frontieres last week. He said if you'd save a dying child that was right next to you now, you should feel the same about children dying thousands of miles away. Stuck with me. Some if the comments on here are disturbing. Whatever you think about Israel or Hamas, these innocent children shouldn't be being slaughtered.

Flumpflimpo · 23/07/2025 22:37

No I do not support the IDF, because I’m able to have an opinion that is not black and white, good guy/ bad guy.

From your blatant replies of deflection I can gather that you are not able to do that.
Your replies are defensive and unable to discern objectively, this does not help you when you are interacting with people

I can't seem to find it online.

User37482 · 23/07/2025 22:45

I actually do think there are quite a few anti-semitic posters here. Israel is not uniquely bad. I mean Hamas literally hammered nails into women’s genitalia and cut off breasts. They are foul, anyone defending them is depraved imo. This was just pure terrorism, I can’t sympathise with anyone who is a member of Hamas or supports their actions.

Tinycatnoise · 23/07/2025 22:45

It is horrifying. I just posted about this today too. My heart hurts with seeing those images. World leaders are absolute criminals to allow this to happen.

ssd · 23/07/2025 22:46

I can see a subtle but swift change in the reporting of Gaza now, it appeared to be on the back burner a few weeks ago but its the first news item reported on now and even the Pope and the Archbishop of York are condemning Israel in the highest terms.

There's still a core ultra loyal Israeli supporters on here but I don't even read their posts now, I know what's coming before it starts.
