To think UN should now be in Gaza as a peacekeeping force

Seriously, when even the Daily Express are even calling mass forced starvation and putting pictures like this on their front pages.

Surely the UN could act as a peacekeeping force and stop this insanity?

Its obscene.

With a permit that Israel may or may not issue you and may or may not take back another day

Yeah, theres a reason for that, why was there a fence?

There are still 50 hostages in Gaza. Can you imagine the British government going “fuck it, we know they still have hostages but we’ll just let it go”.

No they don't have to let it go. No one said that.

But they can negotiate. Get into peace talks.

Why the fuck are they still bombing Palestine two years later?

This is the problem though, food is clearly getting into Gaza but for some reason no-one seems to be able to get it to the right people. People have been buying what should be free aid since the start of the war. UNWRA were previously responsible for distribution, why then were people not getting what they needed. hamas is starving the population.

What are you talking about? Israel is openly restricting aid into Gaza. The GHF, before it opened, said it wouldn’t have the capacity to deliver the amount of aid that is needed.

Yes, the hostages should be freed. But using their captivity to justify bombing children, starving 2 million people, and wiping out Gaza isn’t justice, it’s collective punishment. If another country did this, we’d call it a war crime. Not a rescue mission.

It's almost as if they just want to destroy Gaza rather than find Hamas.

If they wanted to destroy Gaza it would have been done already. During out the Palestinian suffering is not the best solution for Israel

Actually back in the 90s and earlier back to the 70s, gazans would freely come to israel to work and visit. And vice versa. Seems unbelievable now

Just baffled why they won't oust hamas. Many other places overthrow leading terrorist parties. It's almost as if the majority support them.

What, like Israel and their criminal Prime Minister? Im baffled why Israelis are happy to have a war criminal as a leader.

ummymummy · 23/07/2025 23:10

Gloriia · 23/07/2025 23:07

Exactly. The IDF are not stopping it. Hamas are stopping the distribution.

If Hamas were front line stopping all the aid and distribution, surely that should make it super easy for the IDF to identify and annihilate the lot of them? But nah, that would mean ending the genocide

Because it was one of the ways Israel controlled Palestinians as an Occupying Power.
There's an excellent photo essay here explaining the ritual humiliation of the checkpoints

Also if you look up the Breaking the Silence Report by COGAT you will also read how the soldiers used their power of permits to you with Palestinians and their families.

Israel's military checkpoints: 'We live a life of injustice'

The daily reality for over 70,000 Palestinians crossing through Israeli checkpoints on their way to work.

Most of the hostage families dont want this. Nearly all hostages were freed through deals

ssd · 23/07/2025 23:11

I haven't heard Netanyahu mentioning the hostages for ages. It's almost like they've realised they don't actually need a reason to bomb Gaza as no one is stopping them.

You don't think they want to destroy Gaza? Just making a bit of a mess while looking for Hamas?

Edited

They have Hamas have just turned down the most recent negotiations, they initially accepted and then backed out, apparently even the Qatari's are pissed off.

I just don’t see what the point of the UN would be, I could see it if they had safe areas for civilians but they wouldn’t really be able to do anything to police those areas. Maybe food distribution from dedicated centres. I don’t know how you get aid to people who really need it tbh.

There was an awful video of people leaving the GHF site and then being stripped to their underwear by hamas and having all their stuff taken off them. Clearly GHF is a fucking mess but some people are getting food and then being robbed by hamas. It’s ahit when the people who are supposed to be in charge are exploiting you. I can well believe there are starving Palestinians but it’s definitely uneven aid distribution, quite a few Hamas members are literally obese, you don’t get fat during a famine unless you are stealing all the food. Bastards.

Yes, Hamas is corrupt. But they’re not the ones blocking baby formula, bombing convoys, or starving 2 million people. Israel controls the borders. Israel is the one withholding aid.

This isn’t just “uneven distribution.” It’s deliberate deprivation. 90% of Gaza is starving. Kids are dying of malnutrition. That’s not fighting Hamas- it’s punishing civilians.

You don’t get to excuse war crimes by pointing at other crimes.

also, your “Hamas is literally obese” statement is totally baseless and weird- like some random misinformation or an attempt to ridicule. There’s no credible evidence or data suggesting anything like that about Hamas leadership or members.

Surely they must be starving/lacking water also from the blockade.

But a majority of Gaza has already been destroyed. This BBC article is about how the IDF is continuing to level buildings in Gaza and has started to clear them.

Interesting claim- can you share where you’re getting this from? Would love to see some credible sources.

They aren’t, theres shot ton of aid just sitting in Gaza, as I said you don’t get fat people in a famine unless someone has the aid.

Do you remember that incident where Gazans broke into a UNWRA warehouse. hamas were literally standing on piles of flour shooting at Gazans. There was so much food. it was not distributed.

I think they don’t care about destroying Gaza, I think if they wanted every Palestinian bombed it would have happened.

Do you think Isreal cares about what social media activists would have said to them taking out Palestine after Oct? Do you think any other country would have risked nuclear war to retaliate?

Like I said, if they wanted to it would have been done already

They’ve literally flattened Gaza. Just look at the satellite images, bomb damage maps, and news footage. It’s hard to argue the scale of destruction isn’t massive when it’s so visible and documented
