Israels plan for Gazas future

Defense Minister Israel Katz said Monday that he has instructed the IDF to prepare a plan to establish a "humanitarian city" on the ruins of Rafah, which would eventually house the entire population of the Gaza Strip.

According to Katz, the plan involves moving 600,000 Palestinians, primarily from the al-Muwasi area, into the new zone after security screening. Once inside, residents would not be allowed to leave, the defense minister said.

Katz added that, if conditions permit, construction of the "city" would begin during the 60-day Israel-Hamas cease-fire currently under negotiation.

So I'm not allowed to talk about where the fake news in this conflict started because it was so long ago? Oct 7 2023 was so long ago that we just shouldn't talk about what happened and what was reported at the time?

I meant why are you still trying to score points by repeating the most disgusting propaganda that none of us said about babies in ovens and on washing lines etc.

Please just stop, I'm sure I'm not the only one who found your post upsetting.

MixedMetals · 11/07/2025 22:29

Twiglets1 · 11/07/2025 22:23

I think you are reading things you have seen repeated on other sites like Reddit or something and bringing your anger to Mumsnet.

The things you said are mentally disturbing and not something I have seem often repeated but then I don't use social media beyond MN.

Nope. I'm not angry either, don't try that nonsense. I was responding to a post on 'embellishing' and pointing out where it began in this conflict.

They are mentally disturbing I can't imagine who dreamt up such awful things and decided to tell the world that they happened and what their motivations behind it were? It's a pretty awful thing for people to do, spread such stories knowing that they are false.

It's funny because I have seen you on posts where proganda like that has been spread, the pregnant woman one is particularly used on here and you never call them disturbing then. You never say anything at all when people are talking about how awful Hamas are for doing that. I'll be sure to watch out for you correcting such awful things in future.

Just to be clear, you don't think Israel has the right to defend itself from Hamss. Is that what you are saying?

Forges' knowledge is demonstrably far superior to anyone else's here.

I don’t believe that Hamas is Israels real problem anymore, no.

Twiglets1 · 11/07/2025 22:33

veiledsentiments · 11/07/2025 22:20

But so are you. You have posted information just now which is outdated by a year. You posts things that suit your narrative. You now think Israel should have the right to defend itself from Hamas, because that’s what YOU now believe. Not everyone agrees with you, and you don’t seem to want to accept this. I find your posts on critical thinking, quite frankly, insulting. Not everyone is an idiot. And some people might know just as much as you. Accept it and move on.

Well if people don't think Israel has the right to defend themselves from Hamas then that is just antisemitic (and I'm not a person who throws that term around often at all, this may be the first time).

We might disagree on these boards about whether Israel still should be attacking Hamas so long after October 7th 2023.

But to suggest that a country doesn't have the right to defend itself against terrorists at all ... that's a new low.

veiledsentiments · 11/07/2025 22:35

I think Israel, with its disproportionate response to Hamas, has caused a shit load more problems to Israel than it was facing before October 7th. And you can thank the Israeli government for that.

Not what I said at all.

I've literally never heard of some of the things you mentioned earlier.

Babies being cut out of pregnant women's stomachs maybe in the early days of the war I may have read about and not commented as probably horrified and not knowing if they could be true or not.

But listing all that gory made up stuff was like something out of a horror movie, it should have come with a trigger warning. And for what purpose?

ForgesOfEmpires · 11/07/2025 22:38

MixedMetals · 11/07/2025 22:23

It wasn't a typo. People don't accidently type abouts toddlers being stabbed. It's not just a coincidence that that same propaganda has been flying around since Oct 7.

Your time could be better spent holding Hamas to account for the dozens of children they murdered than trying to bully strangers for an honest mistake on mumsnet. Dontcha think?

You said

So yes, you did say that people don't think Israel has the right to defend themselves from Hamas

veiledsentiments · 11/07/2025 22:31

I don’t believe that Hamas is Israels real problem anymore, no.

So you think they are completely defeated now and pose no threat to Israel any more? What is your reasoning?

Well please don't say them again on here because some gullible person will probably read it and think they are true!

Maybe you’re using AI or something and didn’t spot it ( who knows ) but it’s worth calling out don’t you think. I’m sure without noticing it you are now glad it’s been corrected. I got taken down twice for a spelling mistake so I think yours is definately worthy of correcting. Mistakes happen but it’s not bullying to call it out and people’s time is their own, what they do with it is nobodies business.

Because many people do not agree with Israels disproportionate response. And they lash out. I wouldn’t want to be blamed for Bibi’s mistakes. Unfortunately not everyone will think like that. This is not being anti-semitic. This is calling a spade a spade.

It was lashing out against Israel that got Gaza into this mess so other people would be well advised not to repeat the same mistake.

I wasn't asking for the definition of a spade. I was asking if you think Hamas has been completely defeated and no longer poses a threat to Israel, as you said Hamas was no longer a problem for Istael

I explained many times.
I was busy.
It was a long post.
I meant to say in my long list that Hamas:

  1. attacked a kindergarten and
  2. killed dozens of kids, as two seperate items But it came out as one.

That shouldn't be complicated to understand. When it was pointed out I immediately apologised and clarified.

My post was about Hamas crimes that day. It listed all of them accurately aside from that one which was pretty obviously a genuine mistake as reflected by my good faith response.

I've posted endless facts on this forum and one has been shown to be false, for which I gave an explanation, apologised and corrected it.

I have corrected false claims from other posters several times - and incidentally not a single one, including on this thread - has done what I did and apologised and retracted. Which is very telling in terms of intent.

Ad hominem is the last thing left when you've got no argument.

I wouldn't bother.

The person you are trying to explain yourself to still thinks that Hamas cares about Gazans.

I think you are refusing to see what now is Israel’s standing on the world stage. Israel has done a lot of damage to its reputation. People are calling it out for what it is doing. If you don’t see that, then why keep asking?

I think that’s a bit trite to be honest. I think the GenZ’s aren’t going to forget this in a hurry. Certainly none of the ones I know.
