Israels plan for Gazas future

Defense Minister Israel Katz said Monday that he has instructed the IDF to prepare a plan to establish a "humanitarian city" on the ruins of Rafah, which would eventually house the entire population of the Gaza Strip.

According to Katz, the plan involves moving 600,000 Palestinians, primarily from the al-Muwasi area, into the new zone after security screening. Once inside, residents would not be allowed to leave, the defense minister said.

Katz added that, if conditions permit, construction of the "city" would begin during the 60-day Israel-Hamas cease-fire currently under negotiation.

Who has ever boiled it down to 'so lets kill these kids' ? This is such nonsense

The current Israeli Gov and Hamas has. How else do you think these kids are being killed?
Hamas made that decision on Israeli children, as have the IDF on Palestinian children, dwarfing Hamas’ atrocities by some scale now with a 17,000 + toll. A decision has been to snipe, bomb, burn and starve children to death.

What threat does baby milk pose to Israel’s national security, do you think? The only point of withholding that is to kill. That’s the nonsense.

Not from the pro Israel lot. They call the victims hostile and say they need to be kept under occupation until they learn to behave themselves because they scare Israelis into being trigger happy killers.

Are you actually writing about a different conflict? Absolutely nonsensical.
Yes, of course a lot of Palestinians are hostile to Israelis and vv. They've been at various degrees of war for a hundred years ffs. They scare Israelis into being triggered happy killers? Wouldn't October 7 scare you? Wouldn't a suicide bus bomb scare you? If there were people living close to you who wanted to kill you would you expect your government to take some action?
The utter nonsense thats being posted tonight is bizarre.
Grow tf up.

Just making stuff up doesn't make your case stronger it makes it weaker.

For example - who called civilian victims hostile?
Who said they need to kept under occupation until they learn to behave themselves?

No one - you just made that up.

Yes, of course I would be scared.
And, yes, of course they should take action.

But not the utter unhinged barbarism of this scale and duration. Gaza is 90% demolished!
17,000 kids are dead, 18,000 orphaned. 2million people are being squeezed into a tiny parcel of land and will never ever be allowed to leave unless they find somewhere to take them forever. This will be imprisonment - IF they don’t die first. I’d be more scared to be them.

I’m watching channel 4 news about the settlers and the Palestinians right now. I think one Israeli woman said it was ok because of Israeli supremacy. WTAF??

What exactly is Israeli supremacy. Why would anyone think that. Is it propaganda, indoctrination ???

But you clearly dont understand the scale of threat that Israel has been under, the complicity of Hamas in the death toll of their own population and Gaza is NOT 90% demolished. If you are this fast and loose with facts Im afraid I cant take anything you say seriously.

90% of housing units in Gaza are estimated to have been destroyed according to UN figures. That is not an insignificant amount by any means.

Nah, multiple posters have said that. I commented on a post the other day that called Israelis scared and Palestinians hostile.

Multiple posters also say what other choice does Israel have but to occupy the West Bank. People were even posting on here trying to justify camps in Gaza.

Let's not pretend that this doesn't happen. Never once have I seen someone pro Israel say that Palestinians have the right to defend themselves. Not once.

Israel’s ongoing war has destroyed 92% of Palestinian homes in the Gaza Strip, the UN agency for Palestinian refugees (UNRWA) said on Monday.

This was posted in May. So……

WTF is the difference for god’s sake???

SharonEllis · 11/07/2025 21:29

Thank you @Twiglets1 I've corrected this almost as many times as the bollocks about plausible genocide. There is a HUGE difference between being damaged and destroyed. If people would just pause and think about what they are repeating

ForgesOfEmpires · 11/07/2025 21:29

Twiglets1 · 11/07/2025 21:25

It's damaged or destroyed @Whatsinanamehey

Which is bad enough without you exaggerating that it's 90% destroyed.

I was just about to post this. Keeping in mind three things:

  1. Damaged can mean anything, from a broken window
  1. UNWRA is a completely unreliable source.
  1. UNOSAT (UN Satellite Centre) updates indicate approximately 66–69% have been damaged or destroyed, which is much more likely to be accurate

Still a very high % if true, but we won't know if it's true until later.

Really?

"Damage" could mean a small amount of damage in some cases.

"Destroyed" is, well ... destroyed.

itsagreayarea · 11/07/2025 21:30

@SharonEllis You can’t answer my questions.
It’s too tough for you to reckon with so you attack the facts - which I’m never fast and loose with, where I can help it.

On July 9th, 9in10 homes were uninhabitable. 70% of all structures, if you include commerce and civil structures.
https://www.ochaopt.org/content/reported-impact-snapshot-gaza-strip-9-july-2025

All farming land is destroyed and contaminated and riddled with explosives.

Gazan development has been set back by 70 years. It will take close to 15 years just to clear it, never mind rebuild it.

I’m not confused here about scale or complicity.

If you have a broken window your house is damaged. If all its walls are rubble it is destroyed. Seriously.

Except Palestinians don't have that right do they? They don't get to have an army to defend themselves from the people who don't just live close by but the people who live in their homes ans who want to kill them. That's my whole point. We never talk about Palestinians right to defend themselves against the people who want them dead. The people who commit pogroms against them. The people who terrify them marching down their streets calling for their deaths. Why are you here talking about Israel defending themselves when I was talking about Palestinians right to defend themselves? What are your thoughts on the rights of Palestinians to defend themselves from the people who want them dead?

Things will get worse for the Palestinians in the West Bank with Ben Gvirs new First Response Unit made up of settlers . Giving the oppressors full strength of the law

Must be so frustrating for Palestinians in the West Bank when even the law is against them

Does make you realise how easily people can be manipulated if they don't understand basic differences in language like this.

Even if you consider the source to be reputable which I don't personally.
