Kneecap and now this.....There are some absolute fits playing at Glastonbury and I am sure there are some virtue signalling loons cheering this.

Hope turnpike throw the book at them.

Bobby Vylan of British duo Bob Vylan performs on the West Holts Stage

Police review footage of chants led by Glastonbury acts

The government condemned chants from rap duo Bob Vylan which were streamed live and called for "death" to the Israeli military.

I'm glad you've referred to the masses. The rest of us will continue to speak up for the Jewish community.

This is where you are wrong. You equate speaking out against Israeli war crimes as being anti-Jewish. Where does that leave the Jewish people who speak out against Israeli war crimes? Where do they fit in this narrow minded black and white view of yours?

Pigeonpoohelp · 30/06/2025 11:04

You can't silence the masses from speaking the truth they see. What they see is the Israeli government and the IDF meting out deadly revenge on the civilian population of Palestine for the crimes of Hamas. What they see is Palesinian children murdered daily by the IDF. What they see is a genocide carried out by the leaders of Israel.

You can not silence the people. People have and will continue to speak up.

Agree, and its important that our Government are not allowed to silence the people from pointing out the genocide. If Starmer can't admit the truth thats his weakness and lack of morals, but he shouldn't be trying to silence everyone else.

@Alexandra2001

"Israel has blocked all movement out of Gaza, even if they wanted too"

That's the only partially correct. Israel has not blocked movement of Gazans into the Sinai, Egypt has.

Prior to 7th October there was much more freedom of movement for Gazans to work and seek healthcare in Israel than there ever was for Gazans to cross the border into Egypt.

Why do you think this and why no criticism of Egypt?

Have you seen the pile on a Jewish poster gets? These pile ons are the same posters moaning about 'weaponising' antisemitism. You will find those threads, are the most with the deleted posts you referred to. Now why is that?

Apologies, you weren't the poster, who mentioned excessive deleted posts. My original point still stands.

I assume they are Hamas run. Or at least frequented by Hamas as they will be the only ones who can afford to pay

I’m confused. How are we all seeing terribly starved kids who can’t access aid but I can book a hotel and stay in Gaza and eat at a restaurant 🤷‍♀️

It is not inherently anti semitic. But it can be and often is antisemitic if it is framed in ways that exceptionalise Israel, hold Israel to different standards, use antisemitic tropes and if the only international issue you care about is Israel/Palestine, you need to ask yourself why. And if you are not antisemitic are you tapping into the activities, concerns and priorities of people that are?

Good post

Can you though…?
Because it’s been pointed out several times now that the two restaurants linked are in fact no longer operating.

One is now a community kitchen which are largely run my volunteers and charity backed.

And yet yoy continue to peddle these lies that people in Gaza haven’t faced mass destruction and simply have their feet up in hotels, eating at restaurants all the time.

It’s almost like you might have an agenda with all these lies.

Zombiefluff · 30/06/2025 11:22

I actually can’t believe allows outright hateful lies to be spread like this.
Its propaganda.

While.I don't believe much of the Hamas propaganda that comes out of Gaza, I really don't think there will be many restaurants up and running at the moment?

Hamiltonfan · 30/06/2025 11:23

Thailandia restaurant is not a community based kitchen. It is a for profit restaurant

It's rooted in racism against Palestinians. There's no other people who would be suffering to the extent the Palestinians are, and people will try and defend it.

Based what because the facts aren’t backing up your point?

You linked there instagram which stopped posting 18 months ago before the war, other than one video along with a sad face which suggests it dowsnt look like that anymore. Any online reviews of the restaurant predate the war.

The BBC article confirms the restaurant now operates as a community kitchen.

“The Thailandy restaurant was destroyed during last year's Israeli ground operation at the nearby al-Shifa hospital, but it had been rebuilt recently using tents and makeshift structures.
In addition to selling basic meals, the restaurant was also preparing hundreds of hot meals daily for humanitarian organisations to distribute to poor and displaced people.”

Ridiculous comment. Theres people suffering terribly for all kinds of reasons all over the world. Most of us accept that these situations of suffering come about because of extremely complex reasons, rooted in long complex history. It's you making Israel / Palestine the exception to this that gives away how you really feel.

I don’t know this gentleman’s music and I feel that what has happened has been horrific on both sides and both sides need to agree to a ceasefire because there has been despicable atrocities done to all, but one thing I would say is I’ve noticed people calling for this guy to serve the same sentence as Lucy Connolly but for me there is a big difference - Connolly called for a group of people to be set on fire, she was suggesting harm to individuals. His chant absolutely could have meant death to those individuals, however it could have meant death to that particular group in the sense that the group should be disbanded, not suggesting actual murder. Of course, it’s all about intent, but I don’t think the two are the same. I am not justifying what he did before anyone launches on me, simply an observation that I think the two things cannot be compared. You can want an institution to ‘die’ but that is different to saying to want a specific group of people to be set on fire. We shall see what the outcome of this is, but he has stood by himself.

One other thing, I grew up listening to punk. If Glastonbury didn’t want political messages, they really need to not let political musicians play - if an artist is political, you can damn well guarantee they will talk and sing about those politics. You would have thought they would have learnt their lesson when they asked RATM not to sing ‘Fuck you I won’t do what you tell me’ and thought that would be enough to stop them from doing so.

It appears that there are actually places still open for food. Seriously, how do eateries get to open and serve food but kids are starving?

Because Hamas don't give a shit if babies die.
