Oof x reading posts from mothers in the eye of the storm is pretty sobering. Trite though it sounds, I send much love ❤️
It's always the civilians caught up in it all that I think of, that's what grinds my gears about the ultimate futility of war, the mess and trauma that gets ignored because "noble causes" and greater good rhetoric. We forget that ultimately sheer accident of birth is all that protects us or throws us into the jaws of disaster. It goes for more personal experiences too, sickness, disability, poverty, death, bereavement etc. It sometimes takes a second for "Us" to become "Them". When it's engineered by TPTB with all their advantages, the injustice is too much to bear. And the sense of impotence is strong.
Meanwhile in the US, there are protests going on in LA and Philadelphia that are devolving into riots, that country is literally eating itself.
I can't remember a time in my 56 years where there was this level of instability in the world that seems to have been building over the last few years. I know we had the Cold War and the Falklands and various "wars" in the Middle East in general, but to me, this is unprecedented.
Fell asleep watching Agenda Free, and while I was sleeping it appears to have been relentless.
We're definitely staring into the unknown, but we just keep going about our business, hoping for some sanity.
Surreal.
