The general assumption behind the realist theory of international relations, though, is: "states are rational actors that will operate as per their national interest".

Not sure how "literally unhinged" is covered by that theory, to be honest.

Israel cannot win a conventional war against Iran. Because Iran has about 10x the manpower and some of the most defensible territory on the planet.

The US can't fix that for them. They couldn't even take and hold Afghanistan. They realistically haven't actually decisively won any war since WWII.

This is madness. Regardless of ideological stance or personal alignment. This makes zero strategic sense.
