Can you detail the link because I for one don't click on unclear links especially saying 2014??

As in general media, podcasts, YouTube videos etc. What exactly is the problem with that?

It's fairly typical to engage with groups who have a connection between it culture or race or identity? The same happens to the Russians in Ireland why would people not ask the same of the Jewish population.

It's tiny and very identifiable to contact to seek discussion and support.

And if people expected anyone who happened to be of Russian heritage to answer for the crimes of Putin, that would also be an incredibly shitty ting to do.

Who We Are
"ADL is the leading anti-hate organization in the world. Founded in 1913, its timeless mission is “to stop the defamation of the Jewish people and to secure justice and fair treatment to all.” Today, ADL continues to fight all forms of antisemitism and bias, using innovation and partnerships to drive impact. A global leader in combating antisemitism, countering extremism and battling bigotry wherever and whenever it happens, ADL works to protect democracy and ensure a just and inclusive society for all."

I'm not sure exactly who they are, who funds them or where they get their figures from?

It's a link to the ADL website containing statistics about antisemitism in Ireland.

Well I hope you aren't one of those who hate the English because of past events otherwise you would be a hypocrite.

What on earth are you on about.

I've called out hate speech. You then make assumptions about me.

I don't hate The English. Why would I hate an entire group of diverse individuals! Strange comment.

WTF is your point? Have you never made a typo before?

Where exactly did I say answer for anything. Honestly the hostility from your posts is ridiculous.

Engagement in discussion is how peace happens. That engagement can be elsewhere where people from the place or have a relationship with a place or people can help the discussion.

Don't put hate where there isn't any.

Given the horrors being inflicted on innocents by Israel on Palestine do you not understand why people are asking all people of Jewish faith or culture to appeal to Israel to secure peace?

That’s your response to reports of anti semitism in Ireland?

Kindatired · 20/11/2024 19:33

The purpose of the article was to discredit Ireland. The NGO that published the report that is quoted is a propaganda agent. The newspaper that published the article was bought by a mystery buyer after it went broke. The directors are not quite penniless but did not fund the purchase. According to the New York Time one likely candidate is Paul Singer, a wealthy American financier who supports right wing pro - Israeli organisations and think tanks such as the Foundation for the Defence of Democracies and Jinsa.
The basic problem is that Israel has killed tens of thousands of people and the whole country is outraged at the loss of life and terrible injuries inflicted on innocent civilians. There are Palestinian flags everywhere, even tiny backroads in Mayo where the grass grows up the middle of the road. There huge longstanding support for those living in the occupied Territories and Lebanon. The terms Zionism and Kahenism are not clearly defined and there has been little public distancing from the actions of the Israeli government by community leaders or politicians. Young people are very black and white in their thinking. If you support Israel, then you support the killing of more than 800 infants by the IDF. So by default it is assumed you support a genocide. So how does the person with aunties and uncles huddled in the bomb shelter feel if this is what most if the schoolmates think?Id say it feels awful. Very torn between the ties that bind them in two directions

Sorry but when people say things like there's no antisemitism in Ireland, Jews killed Jesus and Jews are responsible for the actions of the Israeli government I tend to lose the will to be polite.

Google is your friend.

So 53000 people asked in 100 countries... I.e. up to 530 in Ireland were asked, though it's unlikely to be that high. And they use that to say that over 600,000 irish people are antisemitic? Do we know who partook in the surveys and what criteria were used to select people?

Because there is no way the figures are in anyway accurate. There is no reference to where the data is sourced.

How many people have to be surveyed in your opinion for you to conclude that antisemitism does I'm fact exist in Ireland? Because to me just one antisemite is too many.

As is this thread. But trying to deflect from the genocide won't achieve anything. The Irish are not the only people who can see what is happening.

There is prejudice against all groups every where. But the so called evidence inked is bull. Extrapolating data in that way is ridiculous and no decent researcher would use that method.

As an atheist I don't care nor am I interested in what was wrote in a story book thousands of years ago and translated how many times.

The Jewish people are not responsible but calling on them to push alongside their Irish neighbours isn't disrespectful ita inclusive.

Thank you. Now I see 😂

So they rang 510 Irish people randomly and asked them whether they agree or disagree with a number of antisemitic statements. 20% of the respondents answered negatively to 5 or more out of the 10 questions.

Jesus... and they're taking the answers as evidence that 20% of the Irish population are antisemitic.

If you knew anything about Irish people and what a bunch of piss takers they are, you would not be throwing this around as genuine evidence of anything.

I suppose they swore on the bible too??

“The Jewish people are not responsible but calling on them to push alongside their Irish neighbours isn't disrespectful ita inclusive.”

What does “push alongside their Irish neighbours” mean with regards to this issue ?
(“Irish neighbours “ - the Jewish community are also Irish … ?)
Are you expecting the Irish Jewish people to join you in protesting against Israel? Is that really your idea of “inclusive “?
