I can't believe how unbalanced the media reporting is of the events last night

The maccabi fans were behaving atrociously and inciting conflict the entire day, pulling down flags, chanting 'fuck Palestine' and intimidating Dutch Arabs

Wow. You accuse me, falsely, of minimising, denying and sweeping under the carpet antisemitism whilst you do exactly that regarding the blatant islamophobia displayed by some of the Israeli fans.

You can deny as much as you want the reality of what the IDF are doing.
It is your choice, of course. But, when I am faced with overwhelming evidence from reliable sources (Reuters/ AFP/ Haaretz) and from the French press, I tend to conclude, that the IDF are indeed guilty of using Palestinians as human shields.

Some people believe what they want to believe.

I'm late to this thread but its hard to believe, even by the standards of mn. I thought it was about the horrific, chilling attacks on Jewish people in Amsterdam, but no, after we've got over blaming Jewish people for being attacked, we are now back to usual old shit about the war, apartheid, colonialism etc Just listen to yourselves.

Did we ever get any evidence of this?

Have a read of the quote history with your 'Israel propaganda machine ' the Mayor, the King of the Netherlands, the Prime Minister, the police..... they have correctly called it. Differs to the King, The Prime minister, the police, the Mayor. The attacks were PLANNED not as a result of not singing the national anthem or ripping a flag down. The scooter riders came in from OUTSIDE the area. The police have documented it. HTH

I'm not scared although I know my DDs are. I am furious.This is exactly what my family faced in Germany almost 100 years ago and my grandmother and other relatives died in a concentration camp. There was no Jewish state to escape to then, my mother tried but the British prevented her and thousands like her from entering the Mandate.

Shame they didn't call out on the Islamophobia as the same time as denouncing the antisemitism clearly displayed.
Both were present as there are many videos to prove it. Both are vile. Don't you agree?

The Telegraph has seen messages from a group chat called Buurthuis, a Dutch word for a type of community centre, which were posted on Wednesday, the day before the match.
One message says: “Tomorrow after the game, at night, part 2 of the Jew Hunt.
“Tomorrow we work them.”

Later on in the article
'As he thrashes around in the water, a pursuer shouts: “Say Free Palestine, and we’ll let you go,” and spits out a vile Dutch phrase that means “Cancer Jew”.

It's appalling isn't it. Thus thread with the excuses, the minimising, the talking about anything but the planned anti semitism attacks.

Since when does pulling down flags justify chasing Jewish people down (not even those who pulled down the flags) and attacking them. Almost every day in this country people pull down posters of the Oct 7th hostages, take down yellow ribbons etc in this country. Please show me the evidence of a similar response to those acts?

I didn't say you did, didI? But Sky's sub head makes a link. It says : 'Verified footage shows how violent disorder unfolded in Amsterdam on Thursday. Before Maccabi Tel Aviv fans were attacked in the city on Thursday evening, Palestinian flags were pulled down from buildings.'

@SharonEllis nothing to say about the Israeli Maccabi fans mocking thousands of dead Palestinians by singing and clapping and jeering?

This is why I can't take these threads seriously, it is extremely one sided with selective outrage.
