Israel has threatened to strike Lebanese search and rescue teams if they go to the southern suburbs of Beirut to help those trapped under the rubble, according to Lebanon’s Civil Defence.
Following Israel’s massive strike on a residential neighbourhood in Dahieh overnight, the Civil Defence – administered by the Ministry of Interior - received a call saying any teams heading to the area within 72 hours of the attack will be struck, they told the BBC.
Lebanon’s national news agency said the Prime Minister Najib Mikati has made several calls to foreign officials asking them to pressure Israel to allow search and rescue teams to do their work.
Israel has hit rescue teams and health workers across south Lebanon and in Beirut, killing and wounding dozens. Yesterday the Lebanese minister of health said Israel had killed 97 health and search and rescue workers so far and injured 188.

So people are now stuck in Gaza and Lebanon while they blow them to bits.

That is absolutely disgusting. More people including children to suffer horrible lingering deaths thanks to the democratically elected Govt of Israel.

It’s grim, such lack of respect for life, and the wrong people being punished all over again.

The horror all round is a bit overwhelming at this stage.

It is as though men are born waiting to control, fight and kill the next person and feel fulfilled by that. It is just ridiculous. It is back to medieval times with more powerful, very expensive weapons. The waste and uselessness is beyond belief.

Whilst not necessarily disagreeing with your statement that aggressive men are responsible for most of the world's conflicts, don't forget that in a lot of cases women have helped vote these psychopaths into power. Though, as a corollary to that, it's interesting to see (Lord Ashcroft's poll of who voted for whom in the 2019 election) that for all categories of ages, demographics, faith, income etc. women, in nearly every case, outnumbered the men as Corbyn supporters.

My Irish cousin sent this to me earlier, also an image from Instagram (I'm not on insta) of an IDF tank with gun pointing at the Irish UN post. I hope it's just intimidation tactics and that they won't dare attack the Irish troops. Mind you Israel do whatever they want these days with no accountibility.

Hezbollah has instructed fighters not to target Israeli forces near a UN peacekeeper base in the Lebanese border town of Maroun al-Ras, according to a statement by one of the group’s field commanders given to Lebanon’s Al Mayadeen broadcaster on Monday.
