@Flibflobflibflob has explained this quite well. Thank you.

All the reputable news sites are reporting that this was a targeted attack on Hezbollah and the dead and injured are Hezbollah apart from 1 poor child. Where are people getting that ‘innocent civilians were injured’ from?

Where's the reports you're seeing that all killed and injured bar one child are Hezbollah?

DuskyBlueDepartingLight · 17/09/2024 21:46

@HelenHen

Lol.

Google Chairman Eric Schmidt complimented the country during a visit there, saying that “Israel has the most important high-tech center in the world after the US.”[12] Israel was ranked 14th in the Global Innovation Index in 2023,[13] down from tenth in 2019.[14] The Tel Aviv region was ranked the 4th global tech ecosystem in the world.[15]

Good luck banning tech in Israel, where a lot of it is pioneered.

Maybe you could put them on the naughty step at the same time...

Do you have proof that all those affected were all hezbollah members as you’re saying ?

Yes, I've seen all of their signed and stamped membership cards and the mailing list for the Hezbollah fanzine and they were all on it....

But, let's be honest, you won't believe any amount of evidence that Israel produce, so let's pretend that they were all innocent doctors and journalists.

Bontonbonbon · 17/09/2024 21:48

@EasterIssland No confirmation as yet. I’m sure the Lebanese government are busy at the moment and will confirm at some point.

However, it is not the first time Mossad have successfully complete this kind of attack. This is just the biggest (by far). They either intercepted a shipment or set up a shipment blind for Hezbollah, knowing that they would only be delivered to Hezbollah members as communication devices.

So on one extremely effective and gruesome hit the Israelis have neutralised large parts of the Hezbollah network, thus meaning it can safely return citizens to Golan Heights.

Flibflobflibflob · 17/09/2024 21:48

Really doubt that. The explosions weren’t big enough, if you were standing about half a foot away from one you wouldn’t have been affected particularly. You would have to be in physical contact with it close to your body to be harmed. The link above shows a man who has one in his bag, literally no-one hurt when it goes off.

To believe that the majority are civilians you would have to think that the Israelis set off random pagers bombs. Clearly Israelis are anything but stupid so I doubt that.

We don't even know whether her father was involved in any way do we? Are you just assuming that? Your comments are disgusting.

From the BBC

A source close to Hezbollah told AFP that two of those killed were the sons of two Hezbollah MPs. They also said the 10-year-old daughter of a Hezbollah member was killed.

it’s not the first time either that they’ve killed innocent people and have had to apologise not long after

Does anyone else find it funny that most men will have kept these pagers in their trouser pocket?

Yes safely return citizens to Golan Heights but cause chaos to innocent civilians in Lebanon. Once again no winners

they might have thought the pagers for hezbollah were those with ID from 1-5000 but in the supply chain some of them didn’t end up in hezbollahs hands. So ended up injuring innocent civilians.

also, it’s not the first time that Israel kills so some and has to apologise for it

“Safely”. As if hezbollah is not going to reply to this anytime soon. No chance I’d be moving to Golan Heights anytime soon

Not on tiktok or twitter so no need for the goady response. I've read bbc and they have not said anywhere that all of those injured or killed are Hezbollah which is why I queried where you'd read it.

@Dulra the terrorists had the pagers. You must be able to see that it was terrorist who were injured and killed, not thousands of innocent people.

Apart from that one child who I’m sorry was affected.

Ok you are a terrorist militia funded by a foreign government, you have decided to start bombing the shit out of your neighbours. You recognise that your neighbours have technologically superior abilities to you so you stop using your cellphone. Do you then tell your members to pop to carphone warehouse to buy a pager? Or do you supply them directly while taking note of serial numbers etc with records of who was issued with what? How stupid do you think Hezbollah are?

Bontonbonbon · 17/09/2024 21:59

@EasterIssland true but the same is also true of Hezbollah, if not more so. You’re going to find it hard to raise sympathy for the radical terror group who have spent decades committing disgusting crimes against everyone and any one they can get their hands on.

Here’s a little peek what they do: Hezbollah has also been involved in a relatively limited number of terrorist attacks against the United States, most notoriously the 1983 Marine suicide bombings in Beirut. Widely believed to have been carried out by Hezbollah or members linked to the group, this devastating act killed 220 Marines, 18 Navy soldiers, and 3 Army soldiers. Prior to the September 11 attacks in New York and Washington, it represented the single deadliest day for United States since the 1968 Tet Offensive during the Vietnam War32.
Hezbollah has also been implicated in the suicide truck bombing of the Israeli embassy in Buenos Aires, Argentina, which killed 29 people and injured 242 on March 17th, 199233.
Two investigative reports in Der Spiegel34, and the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation35 point to Hezbollah’s role in the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri in 2005. It is widely believed that the United National Special Tribunal for Lebanon, which is investigating the affair, has issued confidential arrest warrants for four Hezbollah agents involved in the assassination36.

We don't know who the over two thousand injured are yet it has not been confirmed so let's wait until it is but I seriously doubt they were all Hezbollah

A terror attack mainly on terrorists.

EasterIssland · 17/09/2024 21:42

From
the fact that not only hezbollah members carry pagers.
4k people injured and all hezbollah members ? Not a single civilian ?

israek might have wanted to target hezbollah but probably many of those 4k are innocent civilians as well

It was only the Hezbollah pagers that exploded

Wonderlust233 · 17/09/2024 22:01

Israel has literally been killing civilians for the past year. I don't think their morality has shifted now.
