News seem to indicate a war between Israel and Hezbollah seems imminent , hopefully they’re wrong

Biden has said they’ll support Israel and several ships are on their way to support Israel

from what I’ve read , hezbollah has got more and stronger weapons than Hamas in Gaza

I can only think about how many innocent civilians are going to die because incompetent politicians and many times men.

The US has indications Iran is preparing to launch imminent ballistic missile attack on Israel, a senior White House official says

IDF saying nothing detected in the air at the moment, so who knows what is going on. It was about this time yesterday that the White House announced that Israel were beginning the ground incursion. Hopefully it doesn't come to anything.

I believe this is exactly what Israel wants, to draw the US (and and the rest of the west) into a war with Iran. I will be so fucking angry if we take the bait.

I'm not sure that we will, we'd be nuts to get involved with this, no good will come of it. Hopefully the Iranians are bluffing, but concerning that it's come directly from the WH.

Hopefully it's not a plot cooked up between Israel and the US to justify a war with Iran, call me a cynic but....

This is terrifying but hopefully this will put paid to Iran's nuclear programme once and for all. israel will also blow up their oil facitlities. It was not a coincidence that they attacked the port of Hodiedah, more than 2000km from Israel.

Well Netanyahu wanted to heat everything up in the region and it seems his wishes are coming true.

Concerning the apparent imminent Iranian response, Israeli's have been instructed to stay close to shelters and the IDF has warned that they will not be able to shoot down 100% of the missiles.

There has also just been a mass shooting in Jaffa, 6 people (Israelis) are currently in critical condition with many more injured.

Iran attack no longer apparent, drones currently being intercepted sporadically. Iranian TV reporting ballistic missiles on the way.

The Israeli authorities have told people that they can now leave their bomb shelters. The Israeli Airport Authority says that the country’s airspace has reopened.

I think Netanyahu's speech, in English, suggests this might be the Persians' chance to overcome the medieval theocracy that is destroying them.

Gosh, I was out for a few hours and how drastically things have escalated in such a short time.

So we have a chance to destroy or at least push back years Iran's potential for developing a nuclear weapon. Given Iran's close relationship with Russia and it s well progressed nuclear enrichment program this is a clear and present threat to the world in the next few years. Iran has seen its proxies systematically destroyed and it's ballistic missiles in reality are impotent as the Iron Dome has thankfully done its job with aid from the UK and US. iran, humilated, and with huge deficiencies in its long term military and geopolitical ambitions will want this weapon. It has always been a fear of the world that an enemy of Israel may eventually possess it.

There is now justification for Israel to commit to doing this and we should be welcoming this for the long term peace and prosperity of the region not clinching in the face of terrorist aggression. WW2 showed us in the past that you can't cow to terror a d sometimes war is the only way to remove armed forces and ideologies which are hel l bent on destroying you. The Jewish people obviously know the consequences of that terror with a true genocide and I suspect Israel will do everything in its power to protect it's people in the long term.

Also we need strong democratic action near the election as Trump may take advantage of this politically. I think Biden has been drawn into something he has to support Israel with.

Well hamas attacked Israel. Israel didn't attack Iran or Lebanon or Yeman first. All the various terrorist groups attacked Israel. So they fight back or defend themselves or they carry out targeted attacks as on hezbollah but whatever they do will be wrong.

By the way where are all the posts with condemnation of Iran on here (apart from people who realise Israel doesn't want to be wiped out).
