News seem to indicate a war between Israel and Hezbollah seems imminent , hopefully they’re wrong

Biden has said they’ll support Israel and several ships are on their way to support Israel

from what I’ve read , hezbollah has got more and stronger weapons than Hamas in Gaza

I can only think about how many innocent civilians are going to die because incompetent politicians and many times men.

There's already a war with rockets being flown into Isreal. Is this another occasion, where Israel are meant to suck it up?

I believe, and correct me if wrong, there has been air strikes in Lebanon in the last few months as well with several people killed as well from Lebanon (some of them journalists).

do you think a full in war will be good for both countries ? Don’t you think many innocent civilians will die out of it ?

Unfortunately, yes I agree some innocent people will die. If regimes are going to keep stoking Israel's fire, they are going to reap the consequences. It's just a shame all this muscle flexing from so called men, comes at the expense of women and children.

Don’t you think a full war will have consequences as well in Israel ? What I’ve read might be wrong but hezbollah looks to me a bigger danger to Israel population than hamas. The video released the other day from hezbollah they seem to know where every single military base is in north Israel. And from what another poster said they also filmed a kabutz in the north.

before you ask , no I don’t know what the solution would be but I’ve never believed that a war is a solution to any problem. Normally it only brings destruction and deaths from those taking part and I don’t support this idea.

From Haaretz (Israeli newspaper)
LEBANON AND SYRIA: The IDF said on Saturday that it assassinated Ayman Ghatma, a key Hamas operative affiliated with the Muslim Brotherhood in Lebanon, in a drone strike.

…….

The Israeli army reported on Friday that it had launched airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in several locations in southern Lebanon.

……..

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported a majorexplosion in the area of Al Bukamal in eastern Syria, near the Iraqi border. The war monitor added that unidentified planes were heard overhead at the same time.

……..

A senior Biden administration official who spoke with CNNsaid U.S. officials told an Israeli delegation in Washington that, in the event of a full-out war with Hezbollah, the U.S. is prepared to back Israel and offer security assistance.

……..

Amid fears of a widespread Israeli strike, Kuwait's Foreign Ministry issued a warning telling its citizens to avoid going to Lebanon, and calling on citizens already in the country to leave.

A full-scale war between Hezbollah and Israel is a terrible idea for everyone involved. It can only serve to further destabilise the region. I think it's likely - no country could be expected to stand by indefinitely while being bombed, set on fire and its civilians displaced - but it's a horrible prospect.

PeasfullPerson · 22/06/2024 22:47

The last thing this world needs, is more war, and more displaced and traumatised people. War is an out of touch man’s game, that damages both us and our planet. Time to think of something better!

BuffaloCauliflower · 22/06/2024 22:51

Hezbollah is a significant military power and well resourced, not comparable to Hamas at all - they’ve got a proper army. They’d be well matched to fight Isreal, unlike Hamas which have no hope against them.

I thought the same thing when watching the news this morning.
I wasn't sure if they were still reporting Israeli
air raids but not Hamas's.or anybody else's. The way the media report it the sole attacker is Israel.

Disturbedby · 23/06/2024 02:16

Is it true that over 60,000 Israelis have been displaced for months due to hezbollah's rockets? I've heard various different figures.

About 60,000 people in Israel and 90,000 in Lebanon. All displaced.

EasterIssland · 23/06/2024 07:36

A new video has been released by Hezbollah with their targets

confirms that these are vital Israeli targets, which only the their security system knows about,
The coordinates placed by Hezbollah in the video are maritime targets that mapping programs are prohibited from displaying yet Hezbollah managed to photograph them and acquire their coordinates.

as said by me before , not only innocent Lebanon citizens will die but Israeli as well. Is war the only solution?

But if they get wiped out, the world might have some peace.

after 8 months of war Israel hasn’t yet been wiped out Hamas. What makes them think that they’ll wip out a stronger group? Yes I know you’ve said “if”. How many innocent lives will this war leave for that if to happen

Why anybody would think another war in the middle east is a good idea is beyond me. Israeli people will suffer too, there will be consequences for many Countries I suspect. The whole region will be destabilised for many years. The USA should stay the fuck out of it instead of stoking the fire. Is it too much to hope our idiot politicians will stay out of it??

The destablising force in the ME is Iran. How can we get so far into a thread about Hezbollah without mentioning Iran? If the US stays 'the fuck out' then Israel will be destroyed by Iran. Its US intervention that is preventing not creating a wider war. Its Iran that needs to pull back.Wringing your hands and saying war is bad is a completely pointless response to the reality people are in in the ME.

FOJN · 23/06/2024 08:52

After nearly 9 months the IDF has destroyed much of Gaza but still does not have operational control, has not destroyed Hamas or located the remaining hostages. Daniel Hagari has recently admitted that Hamas cannot be defeated because it's an ideology and not just a fighting force.

Hezbollah are much better equipped and organised. They have been practicing how to defeat the Iron Dome for months. They will use cheap rockets to exhaust iron dome munitions and then they will have free reign to invade northern Israel. Their recent drone footage makes it clear they have planned for this and are warning Israel not to start a war with them.
If Israel starts a war Nasrallah has said the resistance will fight back "without restraint, without rules and without limits". It will be bloody, very ugly and entirely avoidable.

Why the USA are agreeing to support this escalation is beyond me? Netanyahu is due to address congress in the 24th July, presumably to demand more military aid and support.

Putin has visited North Korea, Turkey looks set to leave NATO and join BRICS and the USA and Philippines are conducting combat drills in the south China Sea. Feels like a slow march to world war three with too many people boasting about their nuclear capabilities. It's feels like we have reached a critical mass of lunatics running things.

@Scirocco

Why isn't this mainstream ?
Should be shouted about , but unfortunately doesn't fit that narrative.

Can you please point me in the direction of where I can get news , I follow on X and always reporting missile attacks in northern Israel.

All we hear is Gaza and it's mostly Hamas propaganda
