It seemed like a daft question - don't you know your own political affiliations?

Isn’t that what Israel is doing ?
attacking un when it suits them. Adoring un when Iran attacks them.

That's politics! Agreed.

At least I admit that politicians are blowing in the wind.

I don't need to you broadcast it far and wide

Not in any holes so don't need to do any digging

Not necessarily on this particular thread but across the CITME board, I've seen posters:

-report posts for being antisemitic for any type of criticism of the Israeli government. The posts have then been deleted. There’s been a lot.

-Accuse posters of spreading misinformation by purposefully spreading an incorrect definition of antisemitism when they said the definition of antisemitism to include any questioning of the state of Israel.

-Posters then say that questioning the Israeli government isn’t antisemitic.

-and now that the ICC have sought arrest warrants for Netanyahu for war crimes, the ICC is accused of being antisemitic. Is bombing hospitals, mosques, schools, starving a population antisemitic? Because these are all war crimes that Netanyahu has been accused of.

So what is it then?

You just can’t make these things up.

Well said Biden. Continue at your peril, Khan, Clooney et al.

"Biden said that Israel is not committing genocide in Gaza."

And reported in Al Jazeera so no accusations that it is cobblers if it was reported in the DM or DT.

Biden saying something doesn't make it reality, or absolve international bodies of responsibility to take action to investigate and, where necessary, seek prosecution and sanctions.

Eh?
Besides your comment making zero sense, your hole is the "people like you" abyss. You did not say people with your political stance, did you.

Scirocco · 21/05/2024 14:24

I think there are a lot of double standards at work here, in the same vein as much of the media bias over the years.

On one hand, a statement of opinion from anyone defending or supporting the actions of Israel is considered sufficient to stand on its own, deserving of attention, and should not be challenged.

On the other, any expressions of criticism of those actions or support for Palestinians is held to a higher burden of proof, expected to meet sometimes impossible standards.

This has been widely recognised across media for decades, and identified as a contributing factor to the skewing of coverage of what has been done to Palestinians for years, as well as during this conflict.

💯

And people get more incensed over criticism of the Israeli government as opposed to the things they are getting criticised for. I love my country but I would never defend my government if they were responsible for what the IDF and Israeli government are doing

anotherlevel · 21/05/2024 15:01

@pwrwulf No I'm not bitter and that has nothing to do with my post. Nice try to deflect from the double standards on here though.

pwrwulf, I thought this thread was about the war criminals Netanyahu and Hamus leaders , instead it has been derailed yet again by calling everything antisemetic in a bid to distract against Israel’s criminal leadership. Nice try but this tactic is wearing thin now.

anotherlevel · 21/05/2024 15:26

@pwrwulf I'm just going to ignore your comments now. You're just making things up now and deflecting yet again.

Auvergne63 · 21/05/2024 15:28

Funny how most, if not, all posts ,which have been deleted, are from people who condemn the actions of the Israeli government. We must be all anti semitic.
I expect this post to be deleted too.

Honestly. Can we just discuss what's happening without the name calling? It's really derailing an item currently in the global news.

It's so effective, it's hard to believe it's an accident ....

OP posts:

Think this is sooner than expected

ICC decision on arrest warrants expected in weeks

The ICC prosecutor’s request for arrest warrants for Israeli and Hamas leaders will now go to the court’s pre-trial chamber.

They have to decide if the arguments that Karim Khan, the prosecutor, mentioned as reason for the arrests are valid. Then they will look to see if the ICC has jurisdiction and if there is a valid reason to arrest these people.

There is no fixed timeline. But if we look at the case last year – arrest warrant for Putin – it took about three weeks between the request and the actual decision. So we are expecting this to happen in a few weeks.
