"Biden said that Israel is not committing genocide in Gaza."

Well if Biden said so......Not sure why you think Biden's word holds much weight in a ICC investigation? He may be the President of the United States but he doesn't rule the world and chances are he won't be in post past Jan 2025 anyway.

Well you got pretty excited when Biden said he would be limiting arms shipments and warning Israel against invading Rafah.
You loved him then.

And to think that the ICJ is expected to take about five years to examine the huge piles of evidence submitted but Biden doesn't need to see it and can make a judgement 'just like that'

It's beyond laughable

Did I? You seem to know more about me then me.

They are also two quite practical things which directly helped Palestinians in Gaza, not really the same thing

I think many of us hoped it wasn’t just lip service or public affairs stunts, but a genuine shift in policy and actions. Supplying a few loaves of bread 🥖 to feed 30,000 for 1 day while supplying enough bombs 💣 that kill 30,000 forever is a bit like killing all the kittens your cat has with a shovel and then filling your FB page with I love cats, here is my cat posts. It’s a shallow veneer meant to deflect attention to the real depth of inhumanity going on under the surface.

Nowhere near 30000, though is it.
Yes the numbers are shocking but don't base your figures on a proscribed terrorist organisation's numbers.

Not seen any 'adulation' for Biden - most PP seem to regard him as a bit weak and mis-guided - and even 'evil'

Just because you trumpet this sort of nonsense doesn't make it true

He is a politician and like all politicians we may agree with some things they do and say and some things we don't agree with. That is hardly surprising. I agreed with his stance on NI and the Brexit negotiations, I don't agree with his position on Gaza. I wouldn't adore any politicians even politicians I personally vote for I wouldn't agree or support their position on everything.

Objecting to The killing of over 15000 innocent CHILDREN is antisemitic??? I don't think so.... its called having humanity. How anyone can imply not supporting innocent children being bombed and starved to death is due to a religious hatred is beyond me.... what would God say to his beautiful innocent children being slaughtered and maimed in this way?

Love the way that opposite opinions are trumpeted as nonsense and similar quasi insults on this thread.

Anyhow, are you suggesting the BBC does not know what they are talking about then?

"The BBC has admitted that its reporting of “civilian” casualties in Gaza was inaccurate and included the deaths of Hamas fighters.
A report on BBC One’s News at Ten bulletin on Jan 14 covered a vigil in Tel Aviv marking 100 days since the Oct 7 attacks on Israel."

BBC admits its reporting of Gaza ‘civilian’ deaths was inaccurate

Figure reported from Hamas-run health ministry included the deaths of Hamas fighters

Taken together, Hamas is reporting not only that 70% of casualties are women and children but also that 20% are fighters. This is not possible unless Israel is somehow not killing noncombatant men, or else Hamas is claiming that almost all the men in Gaza are Hamas fighters."

"The truth can’t yet be known and probably never will be. The total civilian casualty count is likely to be extremely overstated. Israel estimates that at least 12,000 fighters have been killed. If that number proves to be even reasonably accurate, then the ratio of noncombatant casualties to combatants is remarkably low: at most 1.4 to 1 and perhaps as low as 1 to 1. By historical standards of urban warfare, where combatants are embedded above and below into civilian population centers, this is a remarkable and successful effort to prevent unnecessary loss of life while fighting an implacable enemy that protects itself with civilians."

Thousands more civilians were killed in Mosul battle than official tally, AP finds

ISIS was driven out of Iraq's second largest city in July, but at a devastating cost, with great swaths of Mosul in ruins. A new report from the Associated Press puts the death toll between 9,000 and 11,000, a third of those reportedly killed by the U....

Keenforhelp, I suspect the number of civilian deaths will be much higher, if you include those that have starved or have not been able to access medical care, plus all those buried in mass graves with no family left. In every genocide the original figures tend to increase when all the facts are known.

It's your political bent I'm not enthused by

Or are you suggesting something else? [as usual]

Can't access DT article it's behind a paywall - but can see it's dated 25 April before the figures were clarified by the UN

The US Dept of State agrees with you - they have said on a number of occasions that the figures are 'probably an underestimate'

As many as 10-12k still buried in the rubble - apparently the whole of Gaza stinks of decomposition Sad

The ICC is anti-Semitic.

i have reported you. How can you say such a ludicrous thing. The ICC have arrests out on Hamas and Netanyahu. I am so sick of this being chucked around everytime people criticise the deliberate starving and bombing of children. We have alls een the videos and I for one know a lecturer of mine who worked in Palestine years ago and told us about the horrrors she had seen. So please dont equate anti zionism in its current state with being antisemetic.

Add the absolute carnge in Falluja to that. Biden has enough blood on his hands from past actions and a good reason why they are not signatories to the ICC. Israel has a point, all countries with advanced armies cause carnage in the pursuit of their aims. They just don't like their populations seeing it in all it's gore, less normal people whose tacit consent in democracies they require are disgusted. There is extreme socipathy in the actions of many of mankind's leaders, it's how they got to the top of their respective greasy poles. We are animals after all said and done.

The U.S. military first denied that it has used white phosphorus as an anti-personnel weapon in Fallujah, but later retracted that denial, and admitted to using the incendiary in the city as an offensive weapon.[20] According to George Monbiot, reports following the events of November 2004 have alleged war crimes, human rights abuses, and a massacre by U.S. personnel.[21] This point of view is presented in the 2005 documentary film, Fallujah, The Hidden Massacre.
