I can't read the words "a real pickle" without thinking of Doctor Bingo in Bluey, now.

Then what?

IDF is going after Hamas at the cost of many lives. After this, what happens to the Palestinians? Will they still be killed like the innocent Palestinians in the West Bank and will settlers continue to take their homes?

No country is going to go after Netanyahu in Israel, but your post seems a bit ironic given current circumstances. It also capture questions that lots of people around the world, and even in the Israeli government, are now asking.

Edited

I was responding to the poser who thinks another country should go after Israel. If you want to know what happens to Palestinians in their little fantasy, ask them not me.

Polka83 · 24/05/2024 09:38

I was responding to your reply to the other poster. Believe this is allowed.

What fantasy are the Palestinians in?

I was not asking Palestinians anything, but asking a poster (you) whether some points they raised about going after Netanyahu and risks to ordinary Israelis were not also pertinent to what is happening in Gaza?

I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to ask me. I just wanted to know what the poster thinks would happen after Israel is invaded in her little scenario.

Netanyahu is facing a dwindling list of countries he can go on for his holibops!

Chilling article on the intimidation of the previous ICC prosecutor by Mossad

Long and detailed but very interesting investigative journalism

Call it what it is racism on a rainy Tuesday morning.

"International Criminal Court, The Hague, Netherlands headed by a Muslim. Recognised by no-one important."

Wow. Just. Wow.

Actually all of your post is completely Islamaphobic.

Your post is ignorant at best and you know absolutely nothing about Islam. Please go and educate yourself.

Efacsen · 28/05/2024 12:14

Also case not brought by South Africa - that's a different court case at the ICJ

Scirocco · 28/05/2024 12:35

Sometimes I think I should start an AMA so people can learn more and challenge their assumptions about Islam. Then I remember people have no interest in learning more and are quite content to continue to hold prejudiced views of a convenient group to 'other'.

Scirocco · 28/05/2024 12:48

@keenforhelp

The International Criminal Court, The Hague, Netherlands.

Its chief Prosecutor is a UK-born lawyer specialising in international criminal and human rights law. Born in Edinburgh. Studied at Kings College London. Has a long history of experience in situations such as Rwanda, Lebanon and Yugoslavia. Was involved in the investigation and pursuing of justice for crimes committed by IS/ISIL in Iraq.

It should be respected by everyone who one day might want justice if their human rights were to be violated. And the South Africa case is the ICJ, not the ICC.

Polka83 · 28/05/2024 12:52

@keenforhelp I can see your post has been deleted now.
Do you really want to compare Israel’s actions with human right abuses in other countries, or should we expect more from the only Democracy in the Middle East?

Inflammatory comment.

I withdrew it and it was my request as per the note - it was NOT deleted.
Mumsnet was obviously not concerned that it was Islamophobic with it as it was not deleted but I withdrew it as the thread was being derailed with a discussion as to what constitutes Islamophobia.

Note - edited for accuracy.

What is this person's name?

@keenforhelp just because Mumsnet didn't delete it for breaking talk guidelines (they seem to be allowing a lot of posts that are breaking talk guidelines to still stand) I found your post completely Islamophobic.
You obviously don't find it to be so and I would suggest that you are part of the problem. If you're "keen for help" as your username suggests, have a look at the following link and also research what Islamaphobia is.

I disagree that I was Islamophobic for pointing out that Karim Khan is Muslim. It is NOT Islamaophobic - it is a fact.

I would not accuse anybody of anti-Semitism if anybody said Netanyahu was Jewish!

You implied that him being Muslim, affected his decision or caused him to have a bias
It's like people saying so and so politician has spoken out in favour of Israel ONLY because they are Jewish.

That's your perception - however are you going to deny unconscious bias exists as a concept?

If I had stated Khan is a Muslim and because of this, he is anti-Semitic and biased - then you may have a point.

But I did not.

anotherlevel · 28/05/2024 13:33

What did you mean by:

"International Criminal Court, The Hague, Netherlands headed by a Muslim. Recognised by no-one important"

Mellowdramadrama · 28/05/2024 13:38

@keenforhelp does Keir Starmer have a unconscious bias in your opinion?
Because his wife and children are Jewish?

That is not why your post was Islamophobic, as you well know.
It's because you seem to conflate faith and culture and that being a Muslim, in your eyes, means being an Islamist.
