Part 3.

I hope they come home soon and there's no need for a part 4.

IDF announcement that Sahar Baruch, one of the hostages, was killed on 7th December during a rescue attempt. They do not know yet if Hamas murdered him, or friendly fire.
if I remember he was the hostage killed who had been tortured. 💔

etmoiandme · 03/01/2024 17:13

Ah, that's sad news Ella.

stomachameleon · 03/01/2024 17:35

Have just been reminded it's kfir Bibas' first birthday today. A sobering thought.

EllaDisenchanted · 03/01/2024 17:52

@stomachamaleon i saw this. Conflicting reports what date his birthday is, prob because depends if it is his Hebrew or English birthday. Either way it’s just horrific

EllaDisenchanted · 04/01/2024 18:30

IDF Spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari says three Israelis declared missing since October 7 are confirmed to be held hostage by Hamas in the Gaza Strip. This brings the total number of hostages in the Gaza Strip to 136. The number includes two Israeli civilians and the bodies of two soldiers held in Gaza since 2014 and 2015

Update: Tamir Adar (38) grandson of Yaffa Adar (who was also taken hostage), was killed on Oct 7th, and Hamas are holding his body in Gaza.

EllaDisenchanted · 05/01/2024 11:02

Number of hostages stands at 136, with one missing female (ie not confirmed to be hostage, nor remains found yet). Hamas have never provided a list of the hostages they hold, so all the legwork has been done by Israel to confirm who is being held hostage, and who has just not yet been identified 💔
presumably they are poring through the hours and hours of video evidence to work out who was killed and their body taken to Gaza, and who is still likely alive.

stomachameleon · 05/01/2024 11:18

@EllaDisenchanted I wish pressure was being put on Hamas by the Red Cross and MSF as some have severe injuries. Hersh? From a humanitarian and medical aspect it is repugnant.

EllaDisenchanted · 05/01/2024 11:31

The Red Cross very clearly showed they have no interest in pressuring Hamas. I’m not sure what MSF is sorry.
I really don’t think Hamas care what condition the hostages are in, and it is scary to think what those who are left alive are going through. It’s heartbreaking to see Hersh’s parents valiantly fighting to be heard, to try find ways to get him out and home. They are so strong but i worry what is waiting for them.

EllaDisenchanted · 05/01/2024 11:31

Whatever Red Cross do now, it is far too little too late.

I agree.
Heartbreaking for the families

Medicine sans frontiers

I don't understand why (when they can churn out constant images of Gaza) supposedly neutral aid agencies can't release a joint statement asking for access to the injured hostages?

I worry too. I hope for brighter things. And their return.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 05/01/2024 15:56

Not sure if everyone's seen this. This lady was with Yarden Bibas when he was told that his wife and children were dead. She also collected early on at Hamas request, a list of medication that people were on but obviously there was no coordination with the Red Cross to try and get the medication in.

I just found this while looking for something else. I hadn't seen it. An interview with Maya Regev about her time in hospital when she was in a room with another hostage who died

I recall all the shouts of hamas don't use the hospitals. Even doctors and representatives denied it and yet the evidence shows they did. I'm not surprised they all lied, terrorists lie and so do their sympathisers and supporters.

Edited

First they didn't use them at all then they only used them to "treat injured hostages" according to supporters. I'm waiting to hear the excuses for them using them to hold people who weren't injured at all.

Hamas apparently has released a video of Tsachi Idan and 3 other hostages. I don't know what it says but Tsachi's cousin's wife, who I follow on Twitter, has mentioned it. She has pointed out they are lying about his status since he was a civilian kidnapped from home. I presume they are trying to make out he was a soldier.

@StarbucksSmarterSister ive mentioned before that Tsachi Idan is the man I’ve been following since the beginning after watching the interview with his wife, Gali. I went sick then when I saw his name mentioned. Today the 7th marks 3 months since the atrocity. 3 months in captivity for those poor people and their families left wondering what is happening to them. This sounds horrible and it may not come
out properly so I do apologise, I don’t think any of them are alive now due to the fact that it will be hard work for Hamas looking after, feeding etc over 100 people. I truly hope I’m proved wrong.

StarbucksSmarterSister · 07/01/2024 00:17

zoflorabore sadly I think several at least will not make it.

Part of an interview with Agam Goldstein. She refers to meeting several other girls who had injuries due to sexual assault.

"Just Now (Israel Radio Second Channel):

Former Head of Israeli Military Intelligence, Amos Yadlin, says that the IDF know precisely where Hamas head, Yahya Sinwar, is located in Gaza but is inhibited from eliminating him because he has surrounded himself with many of the remaining living Israeli hostages who are serving as human shields."

I've heard this said before.
