@EasterIssland your post showing the journalist will probably be deleted as mine was. Because showing present and past is illegal on mumsnet.

feralunderclass · 07/12/2023 17:58

I saw today that the most dangerous place to be a journalist now is in Gaza. They are being murdered, for reporting the facts 😞

Fairtobefairohhhhhc · 07/12/2023 17:58

Well done for being on the wrong side of history. By deleting my post you are also effectively denying that the war crimes in the holocaust happened. Therefore being antisemitic. The very thing you do.not want to be accused of.

So congratulations mumsnet. My post was highlighting the very similarity between the 2 which are both equally horrendous.

Fairtobefairohhhhhc · 07/12/2023 18:02

The UN have issued article 99 as the photo I posted is one of the reasons for doing so.

EasterIssland · 07/12/2023 18:06

I agree with many of the points from here and why I don’t buy the mass surrender story

I don't understand what you mean by showing present and past is illegal on MN, could you explain? Many thanks

Why is that then? Is that Israel’s fault as well?

The Gazan government had the capability of building miles of underground tunnels complete with ventilation systems, why not bomb shelters as well?

Especially as they have had a habit covering many years of lobbing rockets at their neighbours and started another war (which was apparently planned for years) by entering Israel and deliberately committing the worst large scale atrocities against civilians in its history.

You’d have thought they would have planned shelters for their civilians knowing full well Israel would retaliate? Israel even warn them where they’re going to bomb.

Oh wait but then they wouldn’t have 000’s of civilian casualties would they?

Do people really not understand why the IDF make suspected terrorists strip and unlike your average war between armies, Palestinian fighters do not have a distinct uniform, unlike the IDF, and hide amongst civilians?

The false naïveté that this war is within the normal rules of engagement is astonishing.

I note that in one the links posted, a Palestinian man’s statement that he ‘didn’t realise’ fighters were in his house.

——
would you approve that the British government would ask to strip down to every single person as at the end of the day the terrorists go dressed as civilians and they don’t stand out with others neither.

and I would hope that Israel with all the intelligence they’ve got they’d know by now who is a terrorist and who isn’t without the need of removing their clothes and taking them away in underwear

Former US state department official has stated a 13 year old Palestinian boy was raped by the IDF whilst he was in an Israeli prison

jammysocks · 07/12/2023 18:52

@FrozenWindscreen actually......

The IDF has long accused Hamas of operating within the tunnels underneath al-Shifa, which doctors and international aid organizations at the hospital have denied. The tunnels were built as part of the hospital’s construction by Israel in the 1980s, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak told CNN this week.

IDF instructions on Gaza refuge zones cruel ‘mirage’, say aid agencies

Instructions from Israeli forces telling Gaza civilians where to seek refuge and humanitarian relief have given contradictory recommendations, while aid agencies and Palestinians who have heeded them describe the offer of safety as a cruel “mirage” amid an intensifying military campaign.
Those who have fled to a “humanitarian zone” declared by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) at al-Mawasi, a Bedouin settlement on sand dunes in the south-west corner of the Gaza Strip, have depicted a desperate scene with no shelter and barely any food. The IDF, meanwhile, has not ruled out bombing the area, claiming that rockets were fired from there, most recently on Wednesday.

Al-Mawasi was first touted as a safe zone a few days after the bombardment of Gaza began in response to the 7 October Hamas attack on Israel. However, the IDF has been inconsistent in recommending al-Mawasi.

Maps and instructions distributed recently to the 2.3 million Palestinians trapped in Gaza show the territory divided into 623 numbered districts, with orange arrows showing how civilians should move from one district to another to get out of the way of planned IDF military operations.

The arrows have changed direction as circumstances have changed in the past few days, but none of them specifically pointed towards al-Mawasi, nor was the 14 sq km coastal area mentioned in the accompanying text.

Al-Mawasi was however shown in a presentation by the IDF to the international press on Thursday. It appeared as a grey area on a map of southern Gaza, and labelled as a “humanitarian zone”.

Disturbing take on Israel's use of AI in this conflict

"Mass Assassination Factory": Israel Using AI to Generate Targets in Gaza, Increasing Civilian Toll

We look at a new report that reveals how Israel is using artificial intelligence to draw up targets in its military assault of Gaza. The report's author, journalist Yuval Abraham, has found that the IDF's increasing use of AI is partly a response to previous operations in Gaza when Israel quickly ran out of military targets, causing it to loosen its constraints on attacks that could kill civilians. In other words, the "civilian devastation that is happening right now in Gaza" is the result of a "war policy that has a very loose interpretation of what a military target is." This targeting of private homes and residences to kill alleged combatants means that "when a child is killed in Gaza, it's because somebody made a decision it was worth it." It has turned the Israeli military into a "mass assassination factory," with a "total disregard for Palestinian civil life," continues Abraham, who also notes that, as an Israeli journalist, his reporting is still subject to military censors. We also discuss another recent report revealing that Israel may have received intelligence about Hamas's planned attack more than a year in advance of October 7, but ignored it.

Yep i posted about them using AI last week. Apparently they can tell if a house/school etc had a hamas person in it and if it has 5/50/500 children/civilians in it. And they bomb it anyway.

Thankfultoyou · 08/12/2023 09:03

If they are using this strategic intelligence to locate Hamas then why are they killing civilians? Because it's not about Hamas that's why.

It's not about Hamas. The IDF should know who is a civilian or not. Crazy naive stuff! Prisoners are stripped so they cannot conceal weapons. It's not (Hamas) rocket science. 🙄

They are not Hamas. That's good enough for me. Flooding out the terrorists is a good move. You either want the ongoing deaths to stop or you don't.
