I think this thread should be filled with articles like this. A story, with a source that we can identify and (kind of) trust. There are plenty out there. Let's fill it with the stories of children whose lives are lost as a result of Israeli action.

How does everyone manage? I’m so irritable and can find no joy at the moment. I’ve written to my MP, I’ve joined protests, I follow accounts on instagram and try and share to raise awareness. I don’t know what on earth to do to help this stop. So instead I’m just in this paralysed state of horror, disgust and disappointment. I’ve just read the BBC article about the sexual violence on Oct 7th. I’ve just watched Motaz’ latest stories. I want to wake up and it all be a dream. So much pain and suffering, and for what?

@2x2x2 I don't know if you follow any faith or religion. But I find it helps.

I'm muslim, we pray daily for all this effected and we say alhamdullilah (thanks to God) even when something bad happens. We sleep knowing those killed or hurt or dealing with bad instances will be given a high place in heaven. We as a ummah come together and send prayers. I don't mean just palestine, I mean for anyone and everyone.

We donate to charities where we can to support those. We say alhamdullilah for what we have and for what we don't have.

The west often paints islam in a bad light. Because itt suits a narrative.

Anyway, find something you love and enjoy and use it and love it.

@Fairtobefairohhhhhc that makes sense and is helpful. I think that believing in something bigger and loving probably is the only comfort to be found. Even without a named faith, I can try and believe that.

IDF campaign in southern Gaza has created ‘apocalyptic’ conditions, top UN official says

The UN’s top aid official has said the Israeli military campaign in southern Gaza has been just as devastating as in the north, creating “apocalyptic” conditions and ending any possibility of meaningful humanitarian operations.
Martin Griffiths, the UN emergency relief coordinator, said he was speaking on behalf of the entire international aid community in saying the continuing offensive had robbed aid workers of any significant means of helping the 2.3 million people of Gaza, other than to call for an immediate end to the fighting.

His comments came as the Israeli military said it had stormed southern Gaza’s main city in the most intense day of fighting so far, and hospitals struggled to cope with scores of dead and wounded Palestinians.

“What we’re saying today is: that’s enough now. It has to stop,” Griffiths said in an interview with the Guardian, adding that the small amount of aid being allowed into Gaza could no longer be distributed, since the Israeli ground offensive had spread to southern Gaza and the city of Khan Younis, bringing the humanitarian operation effectively to an end.

“It isn’t really a statistically significant operation any more,” said Griffiths, who is also UN undersecretary general for humanitarian affairs. “It’s a bit of a patch on a wound and it doesn’t do the job, and it would be an illusion for the world to think that the people in Gaza can be helped by the humanitarian operation under these conditions.

“This is an apocalyptic situation now, because these are the remnants of a nation being driven into a pocket in the south.”

I’ve seen his stories as well, these are just people’s homes being bombed, the footage of the children being pulled lifeless out of the rubble is devastating. How many more children have to die?

I'm finding it difficult to follow this too.

I implore everyone to follow motaz_azaiza on instagram and watch his stories. It's absolutely horrific but I believe people need to see for themselves what's happening. Western media has been sanitising what we see for decades and this is no different. They're not telling us the half of what is going on. It kills me that this is being allowed to happen. There's no justification for it at all. It's evil. Pure evil.

100 % this. People need to see what is actually happening.

Thanks to social media, we can see the true extent of what is happening and see it for what it is. The media do sanitise a lot and it doesn't help I don't think. I follow Motaz, he's been a good source of information and our eyes as have other journalists on the ground.

I literally just wrote our loads of Instagram.handles to follow and my screen refreshed and they are gone. I might screen shot them instead in one and add them here.

Yes. I'm not surprised. They won't stop until either everyone is dead or the western governments.finally say you need to stop because now its effecting us and the way our elections will go. The UK ans US are heading towards important elections. Once they realise this will effect their chances of winning they will tell Israel to stop.. but i believe we aren't even close to this happening yet.

Was there a thread documenting the deliberate, psychopathic sadism of the Hamas murderers and rapists on 7/10? Did I miss it?
And (i) the fact hostages may be in the tunnels will not stop the IDF from flooding them, and nor should it; (ii) pressure brought on Israel by western governments to surrender to Hamas will have zero effect on Israel's actions. The ceasefire will happen when every single Hamas murderer the IDF can find has been killed, and not before.
