Why was the Paul Biggar thread removed? I tried to find out but that thread was banned too. Please can someone explain?

braticus · 25/12/2023 17:43

@ssd Maybe a tad too on the nose for some...

ssd · 25/12/2023 19:22

I didn't see anything worse than stuff that is here already

I don’t see why anyone should sanitise the reality of this war. That only benefits Israel. And I wasn’t seeing any Palestinian faces on mainstream news. Only numbers. It was only when the stories went viral on social media that they were reported internationally. Take the story of Reem and her grandfather, where he was filmed hugging and kissing her dead body, and the story got picked up by CNN.

the issue of Meta inappropriately censoring content on Palestine is much bigger than Shaun King. They have been called out by Human Rights Watch. The censorship is convenient for Israel and the US to continue their war crimes without the added scrutiny.

Reem and grandad has a message.

Random shares of look at this picture with half a head or here is a dead person who has guts on floor. It feels like it's fun and games for some, some appear to get pleasure from it, likes it a film or something. It's odd.

Again, unless completely dim its pretty obvious people are dying.

braticus · 25/12/2023 19:51

@XRAYTHIS No one is getting pleasure from it except from the people who don't see the Palestinians as human. The rest of us are horrified by what the Israeli government is doing. I'm sure they would love to do it quietly but why should we let them? The more people that are aware of these horrors means more chance of bringing the perpetrators to justice.

People are being massacred and murdered.

Surprised not to see a mention about idf arresting and getting rid off the clothes of children

I just saw this too. It's outrageous that this is allowed to happen in this day and age.

Parkingt111 · 25/12/2023 23:13

This is absolutely outrageous! There are children in there too. And they recorded it why?
How many times is this going to happen
What else is happening that we don't know about

anotherlevel · 25/12/2023 23:22

@Parkingt111 isn't it! I suspect a truck load of things that we don't know about are happening. And what makes it worse is that when you think they couldn't shock you even more, they go and do just that.

I'm guessing they stripped them due to prior history of using children as suicide bombers.

One of those links is also claiming that Israel is carrying out mass killings of these prisoners, which is a claim that is going to need some decent evidence as it's a very serious accusation.

@SomeCatFromJapan

Suicide is a grave sin and forbidden in Islam. The reason is that God is the Creator of all human life and His divine right in giving and taking life cannot be violated. Human beings have been entrusted their lives by God and are obligated for their care and safe keeping. While God forbids suicide, He also assures His servants that turning to their Creator when misfortune should befall them will bring them out of every misery. In Chapter 4, verse 30, of the Holy Quran, God says:
“And kill not yourselves. Surely, Allah is Merciful to you.”
A person that chooses to end his life foregoes his chance to receive the mercy of his Lord because he has died in the act of crime. The Holy Quran reminds us consistently that God has promised great reward for those that bear hardship with patience.

Given they want to achieve martyrdom it seems unlikely they'd want to commit suicide unless they've been given false promises.

I'm curious how this aligns with the numerous suicide attacks that have taken place in Jerusalem during the Intifada by Muslims? I've also seen videos of Arabs praising Palestinian suicide bombers as Jihads?

SomeCatFromJapan · 26/12/2023 09:15

@anotherlevel then why have there been numerous actual suicide attacks using explosive vests?
The ones carried out by minors are listed in the link i provide, for the avoidance of doubt.

anotherlevel · 26/12/2023 09:18

@SomeCatFromJapan I don't know exactly the reason but I did give a reason why it could happen in my post after. They could have been given false promises that you could reach martyrdom by suicide.

Parkingt111 · 26/12/2023 09:41

Even If Israel considered those civilians as POW it is still against IHL the Geneva convention to photograph them. Didn't they learn from the last scandal that caused outrage of a similar nature.
There has been many recorded atrocities of the IDF torturing civilians. Ofcourse Israel isn't exactly going to admit to these
Many after finally being released, after detained for many days have been brought to the hospital with signs of torture
Given the IDF's history of treatment of the Palestinians, it is not difficult to believe

This is a very recent testimony from the hospital which is nowhere near as bad as many of the others I have seen

Even the dead are not left to rest in peace in Gaza. How many more graveyards will be desecrated before someone tells them to stop?

It really shouldn't be happening in the first place for someone to tell them to stop.

This sounds so incredibly disrespectful. Just come out and say that these pictures offend your sensibilities. We absolutely DO need to see what is going on. We cannot rely on western media to convey the truth. As an individual you have the choice what to view.

So do you defend the detention and stripping of children? Do you consider this acceptable behavior?

if there was truly ever a concern these children were bombers (and I doubt there was) why could they not have been asked to lift their shirts and then released immediately? Why are they stood there in the cold in their fucking underpants, with their arms over their heads heralded up amongst groups of men?

are you a parent @SomeCatFromJapan ? Do you really have so little humanity and compassion for Palestinian children that you are even prepared to try justify this behavior?

honestly I try and not react in anger to some posters anymore but these kinds of posts are truly indefensible in my view.

Absolutely this. It is deplorable what is going on and I choose not to view a lot of it for my own personal mental health. But I suspect most of the people who have been injured or died in horrible ways would rather the world could see what is going on than it be hidden away with all of us not knowing about the senseless violence they are forced to endure.
