Maybe or maybe they don't want him reporting from outside gathering support not that it would make any difference where he is. But the IDF doesn't think rationally or even care imo.

Video of an Israeli soldier about to throw something at an ambulance before realising he's being filmed.

Molymoly · 19/12/2023 15:40

@braticus disgusting. Thank goodness for the cameras.

@Molymoly saw a clip of film yesterday of ngos leading a childrens play session in khan younis - just going out to play has become so difficult and dangerous now that it has to be organised for them

Awful. I wonder how they justify this.

It's so sad that these kids can't be afforded the same childhood as everyone else. :(

Gosh they've just bombed near a hospital in Rafah. It's on Bisans page on Instagram.

RIP. He looked like a lovely man. The question is why did they do this?

@flowerssss this is the footage of the hospital. Live. I would never, ever have thought I'd share anything like this on here. I actually disagree with how this conflict has played out on social media and I don't agree with partisan media as evidence sources. I don't agree with filming people when they are dying as how can they consent. But this video has got me today. There are no deaths or bodies on display in it. It's not graphic in the sense of what usually comes out of Gaza. It's the panic in the reporters voice and the young lad at the end looking up at the sky.

I've been right down the middle about this conflict. I daily see arguments and evidence from both sides that sway me. Last night I was fuming with Hamas. Today, after watching this something in me has changed and I just can't reconcile that the horror of October 7th had to be responded to by this action. I can walk away and pretend this conflict isn't happening, a luxury I might have to take for my mental health - but people are stuck in an incomprehensible hell - 78 days of this. It's not right.

flowerssss · 20/12/2023 14:57

@Weddingpuzzle It's absolutely frightening to watch, imagine how it is having to live this everyday. The trauma of seeing casualties. As you said we have the luxury to turn off but they can't.
I'm glad you agree that the action taken isn't right.

Gosh hearing the baby in the background cry 💔 I just can't help but think what if it were my kids there.

flowerssss · 20/12/2023 15:02

I also meant to add @Weddingpuzzle that it isn't right that they've had to display their dead and injured on social media for the world to see. But sadly they've been forced to show the world exactly what's been going on. Otherwise a lot of people would have been taken in by MSM and not been informed of the atrocities that's been happening.

Parkingt111 · 20/12/2023 15:57

@Weddingpuzzle it is heart breaking 💔

This might not be the right thread but after all these days it is apt for it.

Is this peace?
Every time I hear this the tears just flow
There will be peace one day

Thanks @Parkingt111 so beautiful and those words!

I feel like I've learnt so much on these threads. You've been an absolute star, posting with such neutrality and always keeping a lens on the human aspect, whether that be the impact on those who died or injured in the Kibbutz/Nova attacks, the hostages, those who have died or her injured in Gaza and everyone who is living this from Tel Aviv under rocket fire to Khan Younis bombings. It's important to know that there are humans like you out there Flowers gives hope. A lack of hope is so lethal for humans. We need more!

Hi @Weddingpuzzle thanks for sharing. I can’t imagine what it’s like the live through that, the fear in his voice is so raw.

On this conflict playing out on social media, it has happened that way because unfortunately Israel has not allowed international journalists into Gaza. It has imposed an international media blackout so that people cannot see the full extent of the horrors in Gaza via the mainstream news. Palestinians have had no choice but to become citizen journalists and use social media to inform the world what’s happening to them. It’s unsanitized shocking footage that’s hard to watch. I hear what you’re saying about consent (who would want the indignity of being filmed injured, dead or dying?) but I honestly believe that those filmed would be happy to consent if it meant showing themselves would get the bombing to stop. Many of those I’ve seen on social media have held up their dead and injured to the cameras and said look at what is happening to us, where is the world, make it stop etc., it’s beyond awful that they’ve had to do that.

By the sounds of it, this has just happened not too long ago and therefore might be hard to check it's validity.

Gosh, even Piers Morgan is turning on Israel. What's happening?

jammysocks · 20/12/2023 22:02

@braticus he does this occasionally when he's angered enough people..he will still flip back round in a day or 2. Always does.

braticus · 20/12/2023 22:29

That's seems like the probable explanation @jammysocks
