I came on this thread - with a very specific title - because I thought that the title itself is an attempt toshape the narrative in ways that were lacking in balance.

That it was creating an either 'Israel are 100% justified whatever they do or you support terrorists' environment.

Whereas some of us say Hamas's actions were appalling and barbaric, AND some of Israel's actions are appalling. And pointing out that Israel has been in contravention of international law for a long time in some aspects of its actions.

For someone who claims to not be taking sides, you sure seem to be taking sides an awful lot of the time.

Seeing as your family is Iraqi, how did they feel seeing terrorists hanging people in the West Bank the other day? Must have brought back some not so great memories for them. At least that's how my family feel about it. They feel like history is repeating itself except now they don't have anywhere to escape to.

@parksandrecs I think the title is quite clear as to what way it's going to go. And I can't see anything to argue about with that title. Not 'shaping the narrative' it's a fact.

Most of my family decided against settling in Israel because they did not agree with the Zionist agenda. They are primarily in the UK and USA.

Those who are living in Israel do not agree with the opppression of Palistinians, and the increasing Israeli settlement in the West Bank, but they have chosen to live in Israel and be active in politics from within in the hopes of changing from within.

Of course not everyone who is blinkered shouty Pro-Palestinian online is Botox Vlad's employee. Some are naïve and maybe well meaning but mis-informed, some are useful idiots, some enjoy hating Jews. Who knows what drives people to display a wholly one-sided, angry and antagonistic view immune to any evidence. We are not going to hear all of the witness accounts from the hostages until all of the remaining ones are released - no one wants to add the pain to the relatives who's loved ones are held by these monsters. There are some little hints of what was done to all the women and children in captivity - little girl who would now only speak in whisper; old lady who slept on plastic chairs; hostages who had no treatment to their injuries, despite Hamas propaganda; 12 year old who was made to watch people being brutally murdered on film; women who said they were kept in dog crates. Horrible, evil shit.
